We give shit about animal cruelty because we aren't sociapaths. Most people don't get angry about all the other animal cruelty because they don't see it and so don't realise it is going on.
As for burgers, as long as it was treated well and killed as kindly as possible, I'm happy to eat them because it is an unfortunate part of being an omnivore.
Besides burgers taste really nice, cats in bins - they don't do anything for my palate.
We clearly dont "bat a blind eye" when there is clear evidence and the situation is brought to light. we react. and we'll carry on reacting, regardless of these silly blog video's from, umm, who did you say you were? - that doesnt matter right now.

I know i should have taken more away from this than the knowledge that not all New Zealanders are pygmy jungle spear chuckers, but i didnt know there was hotties there like this video host, sign me up for a NZ tour!
True, there is cognitive dissonance when meat-eaters get upset about "pet" species being put into the rubbish. That said, she should probably be terminated.
...and I in no way condone it! If I caught anyone torturing my three cats I'd certainly press charges, but people in this day and age get more upset over the death of an animal than an actual human being.
I totally agree with what you are saying. I love my cats very much, but people have their priorities all messed up. My daughter is a HUGE animal fan...I was listening to her watching an Urban Legand movie and she went through the human death scenes with a little sharpness of breath and an 'oh no', but when she thought a puppy was getting killed she was completely traumatized!!! Isn't that just like the world today, though! priorities all messed up. Sure animal abuse is a horrible thing...
I think there is a certain innocence about animals particularly pets that makes some people feel more protective towards them than humans. I'm of that percentage. i know it's not logical but that's the way it is. I personally wouldn't send death threats to Mary Bale but i fully understand why people would
I think its very serious. Sociopaths are cruel to animals. Has she thrown any small children into rubbish bins lately? .... or harmed a powerless person? .... or abused a child?
The police should REALLY investigate this person to see if there is any other wrongdoing that perhaps went on unseen by others.
Saying there are worse things doesn't really justify not treating this as something outrageous, although saying that it happens a LOT more than you would think. She just got busted on tv,
i can certainly see you point there, although i dont agree with what she did, in comparison to other stuff that is taking place around us its pretty minor. Every day people are BUYING beauty products, of which the manufacter has shoved in the eyes of rabbits, and cleaning products that have been injected into the stomachs of rats, and whats even worse is that its all legal!

Well, there's actually someone much worse, throwing puppies into a river.
4chan's already after her...
2 main problems:
1) money addiction (single most effctv. dopamine trigger!!)
[Olds J, Milner P. (1954). "Positive reinforcement produced by elctrcl. stmltn. of septal area & other regions of rat brain". J Comp Physiol Psychol 47 (6)]
2) under-diagnosed, tolerated and in Wst. Civilztns. hugely honored antisoc. prsnlty. disorder (ICD-10 / 3-6% male pop.), which destroys reciprocal altruism.
Well i agree that death threats are abit too much. I am upset that the cat was in the trash cus im a animal lover, but at least its okay. Im sure there are worse things happening out there than a cat in a trash can.
i would say she needs to be put in a bin for 16 hours . that poor cat must have sat in its piss and all the rubbish .then it could have ended up crushed in a dumpster . ./ i think she has a problem and needs some kind of help . she has some problem mentaly or she just dont care . ever way she needs to no she has dun rong in a big way . you would,t put a child in a bin would you . at the end of the day its a living thing with feelings
I don't like what Mary Bale said about it not meaning to upset anyone,That cat could've been tramatized due to it and I feel sorry for the cat,it's not as if the cat did anything to her, personally I think that even though it was in the news alot, their should be more reports reguarding about animal cruelty since it's not often an issue and plus it's more important than stuff on the news, such as celeb gossip or the olympics
I agree with you. Yes, she did something terrible and she will face the consequences. Like you said, there must be something not right with her and she needs help. Hopefully she will receive the help she needs. It really has been blown out of proportion and death threats are unnecessary. People really need to stop terrorizing this woman and get one with there own lives and problems.
People like to have one person towards whom to direct their hatred. At the moment, that person is Mary Bale. She is definitely a sick individual, someone who needs help, but the people threatening her life are no better than she is...also sick, cruel individuals.
Also: Your comment about people criticising her, then biting into a piece of DEAD ANIMAL is something that I thought about a number of times hearing others' yatter about her.
Cats are like the mascot animal for internet communities. Online, abuse toward a cat is just going to generate far more outrage than to any other animal, because internet comms have a special love for cats. It's not exactly good or bad (there have been cases where legitimate cat abuse has been stopped by internet comms, which is great, and not overexaggerated like the bin thing), just how things are.
i concur wtf is this getting so much attention for, well i have your answer. anything to take you away from the real attrocities going on in this world, conspiracies etc. news is not news, its completely government run, they look for stories to get the sheoples talking while they do their dirty deeds undetected. this is why i dont watch or support the news unless its something but on my msn homepage like the pakistani floods, or haiti quake, or things of that nature.

@xdr8390 ups, something with my male autistic brain is absolutely wrong. My autistic brain is only concerned with one important thing: me and the things I'm interested in.
I despise animal cruelty and I despise what Mary Bale did. What annoyed me most was that she encouraged the cat, stroked it, the cat was sweet and friendly towards her - and then she looked round carefully before dumping the cat in the bin. What she did IS a 'big deal'. It was cruel.
She deserves to be prosecuted or fined, but I don't agree with punishing violent or anti-social crimes with violent or anti-social behaviours. Therefore, the death threats are highly inappropriate.
My cat would want to go into a 'rubbish' bin. lol. My cat is a dumpster diver. But I agree, putting a cat in a freakin' trash can takes uber stupidity like she has.
It's very simple, the death threats to Mary Bale is just trolls doing what trolls do. Of course, trolls don't really care about the cat (if they cared, lolcats would not exist) but it just gives them an opportunity to troll and generally cause distress to Mary Bale. And because Neurotypicals are basta... umm, weird, they take it up and follow the trolls because they think its funny. Well, the bad NTs anyway (which happens to be 85% of the population, at a guess). Well, anyway, that's my view.
Throw Mary Bale into a dumpster, slam the lid shut, and leave her there for 15 hours. No wait, humans have more rights than cats. Leave her there for 12 hours.
Seriously, people who make death threats are sick.
Great video. I did a video about the cat in the bin saga and i do have my thoughts on it also. There was a far worse case here in the UK involving a dog that has been over shadowed by this story and i will be doing a video about that later today, the dog story is far worse but already because of the cat in the bin story it seems to have been forgotten. Ok, I saw it. That is funny as hell! It was so random, and there was no reason for it, lol. I love how the woman looks around to see if anyone's looking before she does it, lol. The only thing that bothers me is that the cat has no air in there with the lid down. Good thing the camera was there.
Good point, there's no reason to ever send a death threat to anyone. The govt is now cracking down much more against death threats when they occur. :)
Please, don't use the R word. It's a hateful, ugly way of describing something/someone you don't like, because it dehumanizes, and stigmatizes the intellectually disabled.
@russa86 Please let go of the delusion that banishing a word will in any way diminish the dehumanization and stigmatization that intellectually disabled face. There are some who would condemn you for writing 'disabled' rather than 'challenged'.
I didn't even watch that video. It's really not important to me, and this is coming from someone who prefers animals over people. As long as it's not being physically harmed it's really not a big deal. It's not as if a cat's not used to being in the trash anyway, lol.
@AspergersGirl Well, like I said, I haven't seen the video. Perhaps it's more abusive then I'm giving it credit for. I'll go watch the video so I can see for myself.
@AspergersGirl As I perceive it... this would be the same as a human placing a human baby or child into a rubbish bin. It is only a different specie, but is alive and experiencing "it's form" of emotion as a human child does. Cats brain development is basically equivalent to that of a human toddler's brain development. Around the 3 year stage. some studies have shown and I've simply observed and compared. They're very similar within an approximation. Same with Horses, Pigs and Cows, etc :o)
@lexxintegra You hit the nail on the head the thing people don't get when they say their are more important things is that this is equally important because we are dealing with a living breathing creature as we would be if it had been a human baby. The cat may not have been physically hurt but news reports said she was traumatized and is having to regain confidence. In my view anyone who can hurt a animal in any way doesn't deserve to have a happy peaceful life. She deserves whatever she gets.
You made some really good points in thus video. I'd say this is the opinion I most agree with. But I've always thought that everything dies, so what does it matter *when* it dies. But it's different with hurting things, because they will remember it. But then again, I'm not good with sympathy and everything.
Cats are pets that are owned by people worrying about where it is. Cows are not pets and they're not social animals, breeding has turned them into mindless milking/meat machines. So there's a big difference there. Millions and millions of people have cats or dogs and love them whilst there are much fewer farmers and they have no emotional bonds with their animals. I wouldn't be surprised if the crazy attempted cat-murderer gets her teeth kicked in or worse, and I would feel no sympathy for her:)
@AspergersGirl No, and I would never kill a com or be anywhere near when a slaughter happens. I just made a point about why people react so much more srtongly when norma pet animals are killed or mistreated. I love cows. : )
@AspergersGirl ...I've grown up around cows... fact is that they are VERY SOCIAL beings as cats and dogs. They chase and play with one another and communicate with eachother and even with those who "choose" to have a compassionate friendship with them. They are certainly not machines, but they are certainly thought of as machines... that is very saddening but O too true :o(
They and pigs and chickens and so forth all have a social way of living if they are allowed the freedom to do so. PEACE :)
@SDPaldora1 If that happened to my pet I would want her punished, and I still do want her punished, a hefty fine should teach her a lesson. I get the feeling it wasn't done to be cruel, but merley because the woman is an idiot.
