I loved playing Guitar Hero, It was fun beating my friends in fake guitar playing (imagine, a girl being better at her guy friends in playing guitar) but now, 5 years later, I feel like such a pud being happy from a fake accomplishment. So now I just shred on a real guitar. But seriously, I don't want people to be introduced to metal in such numbers... do you know how awful Metal would suck if it went mainstream??

Now Joey Belladonna., Now he is a nice dude. I have met him a handful of occasions and he always remembers my face. Always a nice and humble guy.
I don't get why people bash Guitar Hero so much. Sure it creates A LOT of posers, but it also brings actual good music to a whole new generation of rock and metal virgins. It's actually what really pushed me to pickup guitar in the first place. Now I'm the singer and bassist for a thrash metal band. So don't be so quick to put Guitar Hero down. And now the've even introduced Rush (the greatest band of all eternity) to the game and is inspiring even more kids to carry on the tradition. Thanks GH.

One day my best friend invited me to play guitar hero 3 at his home , and the first song we played was One by Metallica... Now 4 years later , my favourite band is Metallica and the rest of the big 4 ( Im going to see them in July \m/ ! ) and many others Rock / Metal bands , I play real guitar and I'm happy ! Guitar hero changed my life forever

I like Guitar Hero as a game. It's not a substitute for a real guitar. I play the game and real guitar (I'm a better drummer though) and I have fun with both. I'm cool with people playing GH but not if they seriously think their a guitar player. Jumping around, singing and acting stupid while playing is fine, but not if you think you can pick of a real guitar and be the next Jimmy Page.

But when playing an instrument you also need to develop the auditive part of the brain. That is not (primarily) needed when playing GH. One of the weirdest things was when i started with GH is that when I approached i musically i sucked. When i approached it like a game (nailing the dots instead of the rhythm) i was good. Does this make any sense?
the big difference is (i think) that gaming (what GH is) uses the visual part of the brain (hand-eye coordination). Now, you do need that when playing an instrument and i do think that games like GH can help you with that (finger independancy, stamina and such).

I totally agree, but you have to admit; the drums DO show people a thing or two about playing real drums. That's why, whenever i play this game, i never call "shotgun" on the guitar but on the drums.
yeah, 4 sure. i actually considered buying the game just 4 the drums because your doing something pretty close to the real thing but just with a smaller range of motion. it would at the least help to build a sense of rhythym.but it is obvious that the drum part is the only thing about the game that is even close to being legitimate.
I love playing drums. I originally picked up the games for the plastic guitar part. But, when Rock Band came out I actually got a sense of some musical tie to the real thing. I starting playing the real guitar because of Guitar Hero, and starting playing the Real Drums because of Rock Band. If something good comes from these games, it's creating new musicians at young ages.
Fairplay, I find playing the drums just a little harder to play on a simulation, easier for real drums, for me, get easier rebounds and able to play Slayer much easier, lol.
yeh, thats great if it can actually get a few people to pick up real instruments and get into music. if only everyone would do the same, maybe people would start respecting musicians again and finally put an end to this bullshit which is called rap that has been forced down our throats for the past ten years or so.
Playing a real guitar is much more satisfying, it takes a lot more work but at least at the end of the day you have an amazing talent to show for it :D

That's so true. Guitar Hero uses alot more gaming skills than music skills. It has alot less in common than people think. You wont belive how many kids think they can play guitar, just because the're good at guitar hero.

Ranting about playing a real guitar opposed to a video game guitar is retarded! It's like saying killing people in a video game is less satisfying than killing someone in real life. Not everyone is musically inclined to play. Ever been to a pawn shop and see the 300 guitars they have hanging around? Totally pointless to suggest real guitar play. It's a game people enjoy your no better than anyone else because you can play a real guitar.

guitar hero is a symbol of everything that is wrong with the world today. people always want a shortcut and this game gives them instant gratification. y would u not rather pick up a real guitar and spend your time practicing that instead of waisting it on a game? it would be cool if it got actually got people interested in guitar again, but it really doesn't. i just wonder what people are going to do when they get too lazy to play guitar hero.

I totally agree, but you have to admit; the drums DO show people a thing or two about playing real drums. That's why, whenever i play this game, i never call "shotgun" on the guitar but on the drums.

yeah, 4 sure. i actually considered buying the game just 4 the drums because your doing something pretty close to the real thing but just with a smaller range of motion. it would at the least help to build a sense of rhythym.but it is obvious that the drum part is the only thing about the game that is even close to being legitimate.

I love playing drums. I originally picked up the games for the plastic guitar part. But, when Rock Band came out I actually got a sense of some musical tie to the real thing. I starting playing the real guitar because of Guitar Hero, and starting playing the Real Drums because of Rock Band. If something good comes from these games, it's creating new musicians at young ages.

Fairplay, I find playing the drums just a little harder to play on a simulation, easier for real drums, for me, get easier rebounds and able to play Slayer much easier, lol.
