I use artpen cardridges but sometimes I use a tube with a pump and I fill it with talens ecoline and it works perfectly for me, it is also good to wash it from time to time, and do not use waterproof ink cuz it's gonna dry on the nib and block the channel...

how do u get the ink to flow smoothly on your pen? my rotring artpen in giving me difficulty writing, do u have any suggestions?

Did you sharpen it to get it to write so smoothly? I still have trouble writing with mine and I'm too much of a wimp to attempt sharpening it lol. Anyway love your videos, good stuff.

@Sypheck after a while I had to sharpen it a little cuz it gets kinda too smooth, to make it more sharp I just make a few lines on a very soft sandpaper :)

@theosone By the way what type of ink do you use in yours? I finally exhausted all of my cartridges and tried using higgins eternal but I'm getting kind of a light mark as if the ink is too thin which I find a bit strange since its not a problem with my dip pens, though maybe its because my dip pens make really wet lines. I want an ink that will come out really dark with this pen and I only have higgins eternal on me, I heard noodler's bulletproof is good in this pen though. What do you suggest?

there are a lot of makers of this type pen also try the Osimroid italic pen with a "sketch tip 1731"

I have the Rotring Artpen as well as the Artpencil and I gotta say, they are a great product. Though I have used smoother nibbed pens before, the feel of the Artpen with its brush-like body style makes it great for sketching. Plus they are sturdy and reliable.
