Jackson's life was riddled with controversy, most of which he brought on himself. Gene was not perfect, but he also didn't go around hanging his child off a balcony, grabbing his crotch in his dances, etc.
Gene Kelly and MJ were both good dancers in their woun style. Lets' not forget that Gene had taken dance clasess, MJ did not. Gene has more thecnique and hw was a tap dancer. MJ experimented with this, but he created his own style of dance, and by doing the same moves he made people recognize his dance in a second, wich is pretty clever. The both of them are great dancers and is no need to say bad things about them. Gene or MJ would have never said they'rethe greatest dancers in the world.

Gene Kelly is one of those immortal dancing legends. His movies are among my favorite of all time. The way he moves is unbelievable. When him, Sinatra, Astaire and all the great classics died, so did true dancing.
Everything he did was so smooth, so effortless, and suave!! Gene Kelly was the man! Amazing and no matter how many times i see these clips or watch these movies i always catch myself, staring dumbfounded, mouth agape! I love him!
A lifetime of sports and dance gave him a physique you couldn't buy at a gym. Put it together with a beautiful face and that All-American boy charm, and you've got one hot actor.
I LOVE his smile in the Anchors Aweigh scene when he is on the phone talking to Lola. I don't think there is any other man who could seduce a woman quite like that just by talking on the phone. I mean, he strokes it and everything!

Umm, yeah Gene was truly an attractive man, but what I appreciate about this period in time was there was still a sense of modesty. MGM wouldn't have allowed him to show too much skin. I believe it was much classier for the companies to go the route they did when portraying hints of sex, seduction, etc.
He is so fantastic! If a guy wore his pants like that with his shirt tucked in today he's a dork or loser, cuz now its cool to where pants to your knees and walk like penguin to keep them from your ankles. He looks sexy in that, clean and decent. Things are so different, if only we can go back. I LOVE his smile in the Anchors Aweigh scene when he is on the phone talking to Lola. I don't think there is any other man who could seduce a woman quite like that just by talking on the phone. I mean, he strokes it and everything!

In 'The Pirate' he also shows off his excellent legs in VERY short pants.......makes me wanna faint.....:0..and in the American in Paris ballet he wears that extremely tight grey thing...hehe..the best part of the movie ;)
It is such a pity there were no nude shots of him lol.....i bet that would get him any role in any movie at the time......

Umm, yeah Gene was truly an attractive man, but what I appreciate about this period in time was there was still a sense of modesty. MGM wouldn't have allowed him to show too much skin. I believe it was much classier for the companies to go the route they did when portraying hints of sex, seduction, etc.

He is so fantastic! If a guy wore his pants like that with his shirt tucked in today he's a dork or loser, cuz now its cool to where pants to your knees and walk like penguin to keep them from your ankles. He looks sexy in that, clean and decent. Things are so different, if only we can go back. With any luck we have reached the low point and are rounding a 360 to go back to these times... wishful thinking. Mr.Kelly is superb.

I disagree: only men can change men. BUT, that said, women can certainly INFLUENCE men to change, and if all the slob men got dumped for classy guys, it would make the slobs rethink their ways. BUT, I don't think it'll happen, because for every slovenly man, there's a trashy woman that'll have him. Unfortunate on both genders. I miss those times, too......and I didn't even live in them. Funny how one can miss what one never had. Sad. Very sad.
