Not sure if Button's better than Vettel, but he's as good as anyone in F1 at the moment. Vettel, Alonso, Hamilton & Button seem to have something a bit special about them, all slightly different, with Webber, Rosberg, Schumacher, Massa just behind (not forgetting Kubica, who is definitely a WDC if he returns!). But Mclaren now know that they have a number one to lead the team should Lewis walk.

They are exactly the same. Red Bull wouldn't want to throw points away for the sake of making it easier for Vettel. They get money for each point they get. So they would want to secure a one two finish every single time if they could.
Let's face it, Vettel is going to blitz the title this year. Ferrari and McLaren should abandon the rest of this year and concentrate on their 2012 cars. The scary thing is, Red Bull will get even better.

Best race so far in this season ! :D I loved to see Button win, especially because Vettel has the best car ! :D I hate the fact that the cars are so different. The fact that just some of the cars on the grid are competativ enough to win the championship... If all of the F1 cars were equally good, then the world title would have been well deserved !! My heart sank when I saw this and after the race I was so pissed off. If Vettel hadn't been running 1:19s before Button came into the picture he would have been far enough ahead. Remember Button was doing 1:17s and Vettel started pounding in 1:17s when he saw Button coming quickly. If he had ran 1:17s the whole final stint which it looked like he was capable of doing he would have won the race comfortably.

Sorry to repeat what many others have said, but this really was one of the best drives... of all time. Someone below said he made the rest look quite average, and I couldn't agree more. Jenson does seem very much on form at the minute - if not for the red flag, he may well have won the Monaco Grand Prix, and then this stunning drive at Canada.
It's amazing how Vettel just loves putting emphasis on how it was solely his mistake, nothing to do with the pressure Button was putting on him or how he was (probably) frantically looking in his mirrors every few seconds.
It was clearly one of the best drives of all time and Button made the rest of the field look quite average. The only problem with Button is that he can't consistantly drive this well and has really poor qualifying pace. If he can sort out those two areas he'd be untouchable.
Despite the fact that Lewis is clearly better, Jensons driving style is better, his overtakes are much more enjoyable to watch and when he's got the bit between his teeth he's amazing to watch.
@TheRoxy6 all part of being a skillful driver, he should have know to stay away from the wet area, the pressure from button didn't help him either.....
Button is without a doubt my favorite driver in F1, but it's kind of a disappointment that he won the way he did. Now everyone is going to think the only reason he took first was cause Vettel made a mistake. But in reality I bet Button would have won regardless. He was within the 1 second gap to use DRS and KERS and looking at the position he came from and the rate he was closing the gap to Vettel, there is no doubt in my mind that he wouldve passed Vettel even if Vettel hadnt messed up
That race was awesooome, I almost left because of the rain, but I'm really glad I stayed, and my favorite won! That slip happened right in front of our stand, it was the best grand prix I've been to so far.
Another part of the race that was great was when Shumacher passed webber and button I think at the same time, this race was just awesome....awesome
This was an awesome race to watch! I was suprised to see Button win after all he went through. He did great and its nice to see someone dethrone Vettel. Also i'd just like to point out that i'm American and would waaaaay rather watch F1 than Nascar. The driving skill in F1 is so much better!

I think if McLaren were better in qualifying then they could really take the fight to Red Bull, it's just seeming increasingly unlikely though that they're gonna' get close enough to compete. I hope they prove me wrong though, because it's never fun when ONE guy just dominates, regardless of whether you like Seb or not, it doesn't really make for an exciting season.

It was good to get other winner than Vettel for a change. There is one more evidence that Vettel can't drive and falls into mistakes if there is a little bit pressure from behind despite the superiority of the Red Bull car.
Nevertheless I'm not sure even if Button deserved to win, okey I admit that the impact with Alonso was a racing situation but he clearly crushed Hamilton into the wall. But even then Hamilton gets the blame... I don't get it.

@64Fabby This is a guy who rear ended Webber behind a safety car back 2007 at Silverstone, crashed into Webber again in Turkey last year - his own team mate, then slammed into Button while trying to overtake in Spa. He pushes himself beyond his capability. There are far more better drivers.

Button binned his car under a safety car in Monza 2000 and slammed into Frentzen in Spa 2000 for example among other incidents, Hamilton has collected more or less every car in his career, hit Button (his own teamie) in this GP unless you see it as Button unfairly boxing Lewis in, pushing Webber wide at Mona 2008 etc even Alonso forced Coulthard into retirement at Hockenheim 2003, every driver has their moments of madness

Vettel is my favourite driver, and Button is my second favourite, so I was more than happy with this outcome! Jenson deserved it today, especially after such a large comeback!
I watched this with my dad, all 5 hours of it and on the last lap I told my dad that Button would over take Vettel. I could see that vettels line was getting a little more untidy as Button piled on the pressure. Kudos to Button for an amazing race, but I think my favorite driver for the race had to be Schumacher. What an excellent perfomance from him. I would have liked to see him in 3rd, but Webber was the better man. All in all, what a fucking rollercoaster!

I think if McLaren were better in qualifying then they could really take the fight to Red Bull, it's just seeming increasingly unlikely though that they're gonna' get close enough to compete. I hope they prove me wrong though, because it's never fun when ONE guy just dominates, regardless of whether you like Seb or not, it doesn't really make for an exciting season.

It was good to get other winner than Vettel for a change. There is one more evidence that Vettel can't drive and falls into mistakes if there is a little bit pressure from behind despite the superiority of the Red Bull car.
Nevertheless I'm not sure even if Button deserved to win, okey I admit that the impact with Alonso was a racing situation but he clearly crushed Hamilton into the wall. But even then Hamilton gets the blame... I don't get it.

@thehitchrules Well in some occasions when race stewards being nasty bitches they give you 10 or 20 seconds time penalty for each crash... which would have dropped Button out of the podium.

you don't watch F1 much then, Vettel has pulled off some fantasti overtaking moves before circa Silverstone 2010 and Barcelona 2011 if you need proof and will still win the championship by a mile :D

@64Fabby This is a guy who rear ended Webber behind a safety car back 2007 at Silverstone, crashed into Webber again in Turkey last year - his own team mate, then slammed into Button while trying to overtake in Spa. He pushes himself beyond his capability. There are far more better drivers.

Button binned his car under a safety car in Monza 2000 and slammed into Frentzen in Spa 2000 for example among other incidents, Hamilton has collected more or less every car in his career, hit Button (his own teamie) in this GP unless you see it as Button unfairly boxing Lewis in, pushing Webber wide at Mona 2008 etc even Alonso forced Coulthard into retirement at Hockenheim 2003, every driver has their moments of madness

Vettel is good as long as he's out in front (he is a quick driver, no doubt).

I watched this with my dad, all 5 hours of it and on the last lap I told my dad that Button would over take Vettel. I could see that vettels line was getting a little more untidy as Button piled on the pressure. Kudos to Button for an amazing race, but I think my favorite driver for the race had to be Schumacher. What an excellent perfomance from him. I would have liked to see him in 3rd, but Webber was the better man. All in all, what a fucking rollercoaster!
