You mentioned this is connected via Blue Tooth so I am wondering if this will work on other tablets AND the ps3 which has blue tooth connectivity OR prehaps a cell phone?!?!?!? Did you try using this on other BT capable devices while using it for the review?

OR you can jailbreak your iPad, download Blutrol, take a screenshot of the controls, Open Blutrol, pick the game your gonna configure, choose the screenshot, line up and zoom in or out the controls, save it, and boom, Street Fighter IV for iCade.

The iCade SDK is free too, so there's no barrier for entry for game devs. Ion just announced a smaller version of the iCade, without the cabinet, just the stick & buttons base.

I like this idea, but why must the iCade use Bluetooth???? Why can't it just connect to the iPad with a cable and dock connector? It would potentially mean that if the iCade can be plugged in to AC mains it means that it could potentially recharge the battery in the iPad whilst you play, but the iCade needs 2 AA batteries, that's more bloody batteries to worry about.

@Lachlant1984 because apple is very strict when it comes to allowing products to connect to it using USB because of jailbreak and things like that. ipad battery last a long time so it shouldnt be a problem

@Lachlant1984 It does charge your Ipad while you play, but I agree that they should have an AC variant, or at least an adapter, but I've played on one of these, and you kind of ignore that issue, it works REALLY good, and it does feel like an arcade machine.

I think with Bluetooth less wires to deal with the better but they could also have used the headphone jack for a connector to save power from Bluetooth.

There is a dual analogue PS2 styled controller available for the Ipad. Take a look at 60beet dot com. It's not bluetooth though, so you have to plug it into your headphone jack for it to work... and unfortunately does not support many games either.

But it is nice to see some third part controllers finally available for iOS devices.

I got one at Bed Bath and Beyond. After Xmas they were 50% off and I had a 20% off coupon. I don't own a iPad yet, but it works with the iPhone too. If you managed to download iMame before it was pulled from the apps store you can play any mame supported rom with this without jail breaking. If you jailbreak, most emulators support the iCade.
