Sorry, I removed my last comment as I'd found out by myself. The TV Room states that the version of this globe with the solid white strap existed for those 2 moths before this was was introduced. This one lasted up to 1968.
It was Budget Day and the broadcast on BBC1 overran ... the silent film compilation When Comedy Was King (or at least some of it) was a time filler before the evening schedule was back on track again.
No hidden Dr Who episodes by any chance?
