  • @6chnoy 彼らは美しいですし、非常によく行ったアメリカ合衆国カリフォルニア州ロサンゼルスに旅行する場合、私のライフルのいずれかを使用することができます。

  • Still a gun, still better than a sharp stick.

But by that time this was made all Japan could do is delay the inevitable defeat.

  • Nice example of a later Type 99. It's a neat that you have a story connecting you to it as well. I saw one of those more rare 12 and something odd inch barreled last ditch type 99's at a gun show for $200. I really wish I got it; the quality of the barrel bands was garage level and the front sight (lacking protective ears) was literally a screw that was chisled to resemble a post. That had to be as late war as the arisaka i read about with a hole in the stock instead of a sling swivel for a rop

  • Very nice shooting. Good to see some one shoot over 100 yards and not feel a scope is required.

  • Be aware that many "Last Ditch" type 99's can be dangerous to shoot. Not all of them, but many were made of milder steel due to the war shortages and allied bombing in late 1944/45. The type 99 has one of the strongest bolt designs of any rifle used in WWII.

  • I felt safer firing the 7.7 last ditch that I had, than any Norinco weapon!

  • how close the target's u need to be?.

  • rifleman must been ray charles.

  • my great uncle brought back a from type 99 rifle from ww2 and the signs have not been grinded off

  • I have in my hands a Type 99 Arisaka from the first run of the first arsenal that made them.... it is without a doubt the most accurate and best made rifle I have ever owned and has the smoothest action of any bolt rifle I have ever fired. The 7.7 round is deadly accurate. It has battle scars and was taken from an island by a Canadien. I acquired it from his sister. It sat in a closet for 37 years until she gave it to me. That was 30 years ago. The quality is impecable

  • pretty good shooting.......

  • lol and i thought the americans where no different from the japs when it came to dealing iwth the american indians. oh well past is past. overall any human in disregard to nations can be worst then monster. you dont have to add a nation on the list. humans................. not the nation itself.

  • Murdering Chinese phot is propaganda. That's photo was excution the just criminal. On July 1938, Nanking. That Picture was taken by jpanaese soldiers. It was famouse picture. You must be reserch.

  • 1:41 FAKE PROPAGANDA IMAGE!

  • honestly what makes you think we would want to watch a video where you show civilians killed by the same gun you own, it is an awesome gun and all and good for historical value, but we don't need to be reminded what it did or what it was meant for

  • I have one of the earlier rifles when they were actually made well which is rare

  • It sounds like a pain to cycle the action on that rifle.

  • I thought, that the "Type 99" is a MG?!

  • My granddad got one home without the chrysanthemum ground off not a last ditch rifle with cleaning rod anyone no about this rifle

  • My dad (I'm too young to own any guns, personally) has one of these rifles, except it was made earlier in the war. Very well made, still shoots fine. It even has the chrysanthemum on it still. He said that he got it from his friend, who used to live in the Philippines.

  • Hey you give back rifle! We need to kill bunny rabbit. They run faster than tied up chinese people. We so sorry 'bout Pearl Harbor. Boy, you Americans get so mad. You bomb my Grandmom. - Gen. Tadeki - me good Jap!

  • @mrfuddlesby your english sucks too bad to be taken seriously

  • @TheWill450

Obviously you too dumb to understand joke. You real dumb, not like Japanese.

  • 这是三八式

  • @yunsuiwuyue 不,38 6.5 毫米,此枪是 7.7 毫米。

  • @mag30th hmm, buddy are you chinese. But how could your father be at Okinawa if your chinese? Then again how do you know how to write in chinese? LOL, sorry just curious.

  • @mag30th

Can you do one on the Japanese 38 Arisaka Rifle. And Mauser rifles video THANK YOU

  • i think it would help you accuracy if there was no wind

  • Aren't these things kind of dangerous to shoot?

  • @Ulysses1994XF04 if you had one of these you should get it inspected by a gunsmith before shooting it.

  • I like how most modern Japanese History text books don't even have a section on WWII, or if they do it's about two paragraphs, mostly detailing how WE bombed them. Not ONE university in Japan even requires taking history courses that cover WWII to be admitted to the institution. Keep ahold of that gun so people don't try and tell you it was all made up.

  • 1:38

    very random..lol

  • @wenaldy Not really, only the Japanese military would go out of their way to bayonet someone, and usually it was unarmed civilians or POWs. the Japanese were notorious for bayonetting unarmed persons. If I included a photos of any other countries military bayonetting persons that would have been random, but it wouldn’t be complete to talk about the military history of this rifle and exclude the bayonetting.

  • @mag30th

I believe you can rest assured that this particular last ditch rifle was not used in China to bayonet civilians. It was probably used in Okinawa for a few minutes, and then dropped by the dead man (or boy) who was holding it.

  • @mag30th You are right about the Japanese army during ww2..The Germans was notorious for taking hostages among the civilian pop.and execute them as revenge on freedom-fighters that they couldnt catch..Butning of the nearest village was also a "normal" response..The Japanese really did horrible things on a regular basic, just like the Germans..Must be the"master-race"nonsens that drives such things, the enemy isnt really human anyway..If they think themselves superior its perhaps easier to justify?

  • @mag30th No need for nonsense like that. I understand your father was a vet, but still, very random.

  • @mag30th

They had the same "Master Race" garbage in their heads as the people murdering "untermensch" in Germany did.

Thinking of the rest of humanity as sub-human makes it easier for soldiers to do this sort of thing. They're just animals, and you're doing everyone a favor in getting rid of them so that the real people can have more room to live and play.

  • @wenaldy not really lol

  • so `44 is when aisans started to make shit products

  • @aaronzack14 Your parents must be "aisans" because you were made too......

  • @kuribo1 umm.......german and scotch-irish

  • @kuribo1 Its Asians Not Aisans

  • @macrick seriously, notice the "" around the word. The first commenter spelt it incorrectly and I was mocking his racist comment. Mind your own business.

  • @kuribo1 Boohoo, me so scare

  • Comment removed

  • @macrick give me an example excluding yamaha and the O.S. model engines. because toyota used to be alright, then they went to quanity and no quality.and the reason why i exclude yamaha is because the bike are not bad in competition. and the reason why i exclude O.S. is because, well, ther the only mass produced model engine that last anymore. so give me an example of a product thats made today with quality and can last.

  • @aaronzack14 Well, to be frank, all commercial products are not made to last a lifetime nowadays. (Made in PRC) i do own any motor vehicles, btw. however, i can comment on running shoes, Asics running shoes tend to last over 2 yrs (I used to jog an avg of 15km per wk) while the rest of brands from other countries rarely last beyond 1 year.

However, I can say that for any commercial products, it all depends on how good is the RnD and QC team.

  • Oriental / Mongoloid , Japanese( Nationality ) to be exact. In fact, most Japanese products are of good quality if not better in some ways. Depends on what you are talking abt actually.

  • the emporer sign isnt ground off all of them mine still has it when the japanese thought they were going to be captured or killed they were ordered to grind them off if they were caught by suprise it was still on there

  • I got a sweet little early Type 38 Arisaka. Havn't fired it in years, still got some Norma ammo to go with it. I remember back in the early 80's we'd go to gun shows. My father would always pass on the last ditch rifles because of safety concerns, but I see your not at all concerned about firing the weapon.

  • Looks like a karabiner, some of the japanese guns are copied from other countries

  • @TheGhostfreak212 no they arnt they are better versions of the k98 mauser.

  • @TheGhostfreak212

Which isn't a surprise it looks like that, if I remember correctly the Arisaka was based on the Mauser while the 7.7mm later ones shot was basically a rimless .303 British.

  • I have a "last ditch" type 99 that still bears the emperor's seal on it , what if any difference would that mean to the overall value to the rifle ?

  • @forkliftop1 I am sure that the rifle is very valuable to collectors, considering that most of the Emperor's Seals were ground off after the war. This example of rareness is comparable to the Mauser 1891 Argentine, those that still bear the Argentinian crest are far more valuable than those that do not have the crest on the reciever. My father owns two Mauser 1891 carbines, issued to artillery crews in Argentina, both with original crests. Cheers.

  • I have a "last ditch" type 99 that still bears the emperor's seal on it , what if any difference would that mean to the overall value to the rifle ?

  • still it can hit a target -

where do you get your ammo ???

I got 99 arisaka , and would like to take it to the range

  • im just the luckiest boy in the world, i picked up a last ditch rifle with imperial crisamthemum (lazy spelling) still on it; at an auction for only $650 NZD (about $450 USD)

  • you say that about the murder of civilians was fault of japanese soldiers, it was ordered by the higher ranks. you're full of shit man, trying to make look bad someone who isnt

  • @spanish111japan 1 of 2 And you need to work on your history. In some cases, such as in China, it was ordered, but in other cases, such as their POW camps, death ships and the Bataan death march (just to name a few); it was not ordered, but overlooked by superiors. The Japanese were the most notorious human butchers of any modern war, not my opinion, but fact.

  • @spanish111japan 2 of 2 How many other armies are you aware of that the soldiers would cut penises off of men and sew them into their mouths? This was not ordered, but overlooked. They were human butchers.

  • @mag30th

Did you even get your information right? Youre full of american bullshit. Look, don't even reply, coming from an american i only get shit. You need to improve your history, not me. Research, is the word you need to know. You're brainwashed with american patriotism man. The biggest bastards, the american bitches. Look how fucked up is the world nowadays. FUCK YOU, AMERICA.

  • @spanish111japan Bitch about the American gov all you want but you better stop at the American people. Quit generalizing populations , it's the same shit you act like your fighting against. Don't forget without America Spain would be a Nazi state today.

  • @THEKINGOFMETROPOLIS Let's talk at your american style.

My fucking country wouldnt be a nazi shit, since the fucking nazis lost the fucking war, and spain didn't even go to the fucking war, that would have fucking ended when the fucking dictator had fucking died.

Don't fucking talk if you have fucking idea, fucktard.

  • @spanish111japan God your stupid as fuck. Hitler bombed the shit out of Spain from 1936-39 and the regime he set up was pro-facist. Learn your countries history dumbass holy shit. Europe was pretty much taken over by Hitler in 1941. If the U.S. didn't help England, he could've easily invaded England and then focused all attention on Russia and then ended any hope of allied resistance. Oh and learn to use "fuck" in a smart way, spewing it out doesnt make you right.

  • @THEKINGOFMETROPOLIS

Hitler bombed and helped us in civil war, he didn't attack spain, you fucktard. I know my history, i never fucking said anything about my country wasn't fascist. And, man, you're a fucking fucktard, you didn't fucking catch why i fucking use the fucking fuck word?

    You're dumber than a shit.

The civil war and the WWII are very different things, you humiliate yourself saying that i don't know my history or talking like i said it. You're so pathetic you humiliate yourself

  • @spanish111japan Yeah did i say that the civil war and ww2 were the same thing? No retard. Learn to read before you bitch holy shit you dumbfuck. So he helped spain set up a a pro fascist govt and thats somehow a good thing? You should be happy that govt doesnt exist anymore because the allies liberated europe, a feat which could'nt have been done without America. I would expect such a dumb response from an illiterate 13 year old european. Francisco Franco was a fascist.

  • @THEKINGOFMETROPOLIS

You related that with WWII, wich haves NOTHING to see with, you little bastard. If you're going to type, think, you're a dumbass. I think i should not learn to read, since you don't see what you type.

Hitler didn't dominate us, Franco did, WWII didn't change anything, It's like talking about the cold war and suddenly you come out with the american civil war.

What can you hope from a 7 year old american?.

You give me pitty man, if you have problems, i will help you.

  • @THEKINGOFMETROPOLIS Just look at your account and your name, it says it all.

'Teenager with no life trolling arround'

You're sad man, i don't say it to insult, i say it as it is, you're sad. How aren't you ashamed of humiliating yourself?

  • @spanish111japan Haha right ok great comeback from an educated response. Spanish111Japan? Yeahs thats fucking lame. If hitler had won i guraentee him and your buddy Franco would be best pals and you would be living in facist state. Im done with this conversation, I dont debate facts with jealous, japanese fanboy europeans.

  • @THEKINGOFMETROPOLIS

Educated response? Why? I'm just acting with the education you have, so you critize yourself. And you still didn't catch it...

If hitler had won or not Franco would have still been in power, because he was in power, you stupid idiot. We didn't go to WWII. Since he died we changed. Get your facts right, you know less history than a monkey masturbating.

  • @spanish111japan OK get this though your ignorant skull. Say Hitler wins the war and takes over Europe, and Franco is in power after. You think Spain would be different than it is today? OF COURSE IT WOULD BE. They would be best pals, and when Franco died, another fascist would have taken over or maybe even NAZI. Had The U.S. not stormed through Europe and got rid of fascism, it would still exist in Spain today. Get it? Show some respect to the people who died so you can talk shit today.

  • @THEKINGOFMETROPOLIS

It would not. Hitler went through his business, Spain was under fascism, it would not change, or you think Hitler would invade an allied country? Little bastard, learn facts, it would be the same, specially if an spanish person tells you, you dumbfuck yankee.

  • @spanish111japan Haha ok man believe whatever you want. If you can honestly tell yourself Spain would be fine with Hitler as a neighbor go ahead. I definitely know my facts while you go on assumptions that Span would somehow not be affected if a nazi superpower was next to it. Stupid and ignorant. Like I said, all you can come up with are insults about Americans that you think piss me off (LOL) when in reality you just look immature as fuck. Peace bitch.

  • @THEKINGOFMETROPOLIS

Sigh, you don't really understand, do you silly teenager?

Franco was like Hitler, he acted the same without or with him. I tell you facts, you just tell me it would be different, You're a fucking ignorant, won't you deal with it?

And no, i'm not pissing you off, i'm telling you what you ware. And third, about looking immature, in the beggining of the argue, i said i would act the same how you act, so calling me immature is like insulting yourself. How do you feel :)?

  • @spanish111japan 1st: I'm not a teenager dumbass. 2nd: What facts did you tell me? That the civil war and WW2 were different, ok great you got me on that one man. Plus learn some grammar for fucks sake. Im an ignorant? Ignorant isn't a noun its an adjective. You troll around videos insulting Americans and I'm immature? See I don't generalize populations like you do. Your obviously do dumb to realize living next to a Nazi state would be 10 times worse than it is now for you. GOODBYE EUROTRASH.

  • @THEKINGOFMETROPOLIS you speak as if the Americans went against the whole german army...what about the Canadians, British and the Russians...lets not kid ourselves here, the Russian were facing 90% of the German army, while the Americans,Canadians and British were facing the 10%...Russia stormed europe and got ride of facism..the Americans helped..

  • @Nintendogenius Yeah well I was in a heated debate with a European talking shit on Americans saying we did nothing to help the war effort. Yes Russia faced the majority of the Nazis, but the U.S. faced Japan almost alone besides the Australian and few British units. We also provided most of the soldiers in Western Europe. Not downplaying the Brits or Canadians part, thats just a fact. And at the very least the American contribution allowed western culture to exist west of the Berlin Wall.

  • @THEKINGOFMETROPOLIS you sir, have a point

  • Comment removed

  • @THEKINGOFMETROPOLIS Not forgetting the lend lease mate. You yanks did save our bacon... I'll overlook that you were late though. lol =P

  • @Plekky08 Anytime man haha. To me, America, England and Australia are really nations whose fates are sort of tied to each other. As western nations we usually have a common enemy, and together I dont think we can be beaten. But yeah the RAF may have saved the war at the Battle of Britain. We helped in weapons sure but the British were smart enough to capitalize on radar. And in all reality, America couldnt have won without England being a launching pad into Europe. Glad your on our side!

  • @THEKINGOFMETROPOLIS What about Canada?

  • @MemePhil Course how could I forget the canucks! My bad.

  • @THEKINGOFMETROPOLIS You know where Australia is right?

  • @THEKINGOFMETROPOLIS Well the RAF would have lost, and they were losing, but then The RAF started bombing Berlin. In enraged Hitler decided to, agiants all advice, bomb London and divert bombers from airfields to civillian targets. This let the RAF repair Airfields, import munitions and train pilots, renewing the RAF who eventually defeatated the exhausted LUfftwaffe pilots. THis lead to the delay of Barborssa untli the Winter, essentialy setting off the first dominoe

  • @mag30th Or never heard of the soldiers who were ordered to try on civilians medicines, by giving them illneses? The japanese also did that true? Because it's not written or it's written doesn't mean it's the truth, but i trust more someone who saw it, than an american book with 'History' on it.

  • @mag30th

Research yourself, you can block me, delete my emssages, and all you want. But we will know who knows the right, if you want to think that, think it. But my grandfather was a foot soldier and was in Manchuria.

Howcome america paints it in moovies as the japanese like monsters and in other moovies it's not like that? Why should Japan lie about their past?

Neither tell me the atomic bomb was neccesary!. It was a pure massacre.

  • @spanish111japan You said that "my grandfather was a foot soldier and was in Manchuria." Who was he fighting there and why?

And you also state, "Neither tell me the atomic bomb was necessary!. It was a pure massacre." You would have preferred if we would have firebombed Japan continually, after all, the atomic bombs only killed 150,000, while the firebombing killed over a million?

And please don’t forget to respond to my question about you grandfather, what was he doing there, and why?

  • @mag30th The classic answer from an american. Firebombing and killing is the only solution right? You could have dealed peace, be intelligent.

My grandparent was an spanish kid who had to leave Spain for the civil war, and had to go to Russia, many kids were sent to russia from spain by our civil war. He joined the Russian army and from there he fought in manchuria against the japanese. But i don't know many about him, my family lost contact with him after the war, he only came once back

  • @mag30th And by the way, only 150.000? You talk like it was nothing! You talk about life like it was shit. Do you think that is normal to wake up one morning and die because the enemy said so? Please, don't reply with your stupid answers!

  • @mag30th

Oh and, I'm not insulting you, I'm insulting the us army, do not take it as an offensive of course. :)

  • I hav 1 but the piece on the back of the bolt is missing would any1 no if u can get a new part . If u can u hav Amy idea where to find them

  • @pyroboys2 Try Numrich or Sarco. They usually have Arisaka parts.

  • Your father is a hero。。。

    敬禮。。。。

  • @liurunruyt his father was a war criminal

  • @Liuyifeng19 why?

  • @Liuyifeng19 a soldier doing his duty as assigned is no war criminal nor hero. he is just a soldier. now unless he killed people innocently or mistreated the POWs then yes he would be a criminal. but we dont know that for sure

  • @Liuyifeng19 And you are a spammer, ive seen your other posts, you posted that you though the Nangking massacare was funny? You are ill.

  • 1:41 Whats that got to do with the last ditch rifle?

  • Some of the German last ditch weapons showed a lot of slip shod quality too. Quantity over quality at a critical time. Some would say that this shows that the Japanese mainland and its leaders were willing to fight to the very last man, woman and child. The Germans were willing to fight to the very last square inch. There was a plan to activate Wherwolf cells to fight a partisan type war against the Allies and "collaborators." This did not become a full scale resistance movement.

  • i was given one of these but sold it in 91 damn

the bolt was so sloppy i never fired it i got an sks and an akm for it

  • i was given one of these but sold it in 91 damn

  • My grandfather just showed me his Arisaka Type 99 that brought back from the Pacific. Its the same last ditch model you have but the Chrysanthemum is not grounded off and has a detachable bayonet. Would this rifle be worth a lot of money?

  • @steveeeholla Not exactly. Rifles with intact Chrsanthemums are not that rare. In fact, they're all over the place. It also depends on the markings, the manufactuer, In reality, it depends on where you live, supply and demand, etc. But the rifle and the bayonet together might make a good deal. Pictures or a video would help greatly.

  • @something01992 not all arisakas have the mum on the receiver. Most were grounded off or defaced, but if you have a arisaka with the mum intact, that brings the value up.

  • @pulaski789 True, an Arisaka with the mum intact does raise its value, but most people treat it like it's a 1 out of 500 rifle. It's really not, at least, that I've seen. Sure, you might have to look a little longer, but inevitably, you will find a rifle with an intact mum.

  • Wow, the stories this thing must have.

  • 1:33 LOL so random.

  • The 7.7 rds can still be found after so many years?

  • @PvtKing19891229 I believe that Norma and Wolf are manufacturing 7.7, (Don't quote me on the companies but there still making)

  • That "bayoneting civilians" pic was a bit gratuitous.. I mean, people are not going to show pictures of the Nankin massacre every time they make a video about Japanese militaria !

  • @lptomtom yeah they will

  • @soullife9 ur right and neither does the seal that was to represent imperial japanese conquest

  • @soullife9 its considered shameful for the gun to be in enemy hands in the first place. its even more shameful if the seal was on the enemy's gun.

  • @luckyD1993 its even more shameful to call a rifle a gun

  • All i have to say is that this is a decent b.a.r

  • Very cool video indeed.

  • OK OK OOK

  • Holy shit man you go from giving facts about your gun to " Japanese soldiers bayoneting Chinese civilians".

  • my grandfather just gave me his brother's Type 99 he brought back home, awesome

  • I thought that the 'Last Ditch' rifles were very unsafe to fire?

  • @TheJojo45678 No they were very roughly made, But the ammunition near the end of the war the Japanese were making was very unsafe to shoot.

  • @varocks183 Ah, I see. I've been told and have read many times that it was the rifle, not the ammo that was unsafe. Thanks for the correction.

  • Comment removed

  • video is interesting but was it really necessary to include a photo of them bayonetting civilians? it was really out of place with the rest of the video content.

  • @warfan7x the gun's purpose is to kill. do u think he would have found any reality pictures of ija soldiers using guns to carry water buckets for civilians?

  • @luckyD1993 And you feel the need to tell my something i already know why?

  • this is an excellent rifle, alot of history behind it, i just cant get it on target yet, im usng 37 grains 4895 for my charge

  • I love you last ditch i think that they are really nice rifles i got one when i was 13 and it is my most favorite rifle.

  • My first gun ever in 1978. We walked into a flea market and saw a pristine Type 99 with totally cool AA sight. My brother whispers, "If it`s under 300 bucks, do it!" I asked the man and he said, "Will you go $55?!?" So then we ask about the one underneath it on the rack. "6.5 Carcano... Same as Lee Harvey Oswald" "uh....Sold!" K-98 Ba ding!! Walked in a novice ... Walked out ready to defend The Cherkassy Pocket...

  • the japanese were a ruthless people during worl war 2 they cared about nothing but victory. but when they pissed us americans off we kicked there ass all across the pacific and sent them home whining like the little piece of shits they were. i still say the m1 garand is by far one of the best rifles ever anufactured by the usa id go with an m1 garand over an m16 anyday

  • @cainzack95 DAMN STRAIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @cainzack95 No, the Japanese weren't the Japanese MILITARY were. So be quiet.

  • my grandpa remembers the japanese murdering of the civilians, he is chinese and so am i.

he says he lost his parents before he was 20 and his guardians became his aunt and uncle.

though he appreciates the skill of which the japanese wielding these rifles. hitting spot on targets from the hip.

    torturing children chained to poles.

so i asked "what do you think of the japanese now?"

he replied that he has the hottest burning passionate hate against the japanese. i laughed after he said that.

  • Great video, as always! =-D

  • 99式歩兵銃最高だね!

  • My grandpa was an IJA veteran, captured during the Battle of Visaya in early july '44 and he reads many of the comments on this page with sadness. D:

He's a peaceful old man, who I doubt did anything wrong. He was required to join the IJA straight outta highschool.

I gotta admit he's funny with his war stories, dealing about how his buddies would bayonet slap eachother's asses, and put VERY hot filipino peppers in eachother's rice.

  • @MamasandPapas I mean July 1945. sorry, typo.

  • The Japanese could have done a lot more damage than they did if not for flaws. Minoru Genda suggested a Third wave and a follow up attack at PH, which was rejected. If the Japanese HAD followed up with a third wave, targeting Oil reserves, the consequences would have been critical for the US. It would have postponed our Pacific naval operations by a year, and prolonged the war.

Japanese infantry tactics were... wasteful. Did pretty good at the start, but we had them figured out by the end....

  • hey, thanks for making this video, very descriptive. i was just wondering if your father had any stories that he told you as a child, my grandfather was taken as a i dont want to say POW because he did not fight because he was the youngest in his family, but the germans took him as a prisoner none the less in italy and forced him to dig trenches until he escaped.

  • these rounds are more powerful than the pussy n.a.t.o. ones?

  • Yeah, like the German Volkssturm ... cheap and crappy weapons as a last-ditch resort which only increase the number of war victims.

  • does anyone know where you can get 6.5 Arisaka ammunition? I saw a 6.5mm Arisaka rifle for sale for like 150 bucks that looked brand new, still have the Chrysanthemum on the top, but the guy said theres no ammo being made for them anymore.

  • Nice video. How is the rifling? Is that of a poorer quality too at all?

  • that ''last ditch'' is in pretty good shape compare to others ive seen

  • I have an older 7.7 serial number 482 that is made with excellent quality. If I were you I would not fire that rifle if you paid me. Towards the end of the war, when the quality of the Type 99, 7.7, went extremely downhill, many Japanese soldiers were killed, or injured, by their own rifles. The bolt of the poorer quality 7.7 Type 99 many times would disengage while firing & the bolt would fly back into the face, or forehead, of the shooter. Please take some good advise from me and a few others.

  • The 7.7mm Japanese cartridge was a rimless version of the .303 British, adopted because the 6.5mm didn't do well in combat.

  • I think you have the coolest shooting vids on here. You give great info. and shoot some really nice rifles very well. Nice!

  • Damn, you are a good shot man! I have watched your other videos shooting at insane distances with open sights, and I am amazed that you can even see what you are aiming at!

Great postings, many thanks for sharing...

  • 难道是三八大盖???

  • @qujohn88 HUH?

  • My father has an Arisaka 38 rifle with a chrome lined barrel and the chrysanthemum still on it.

  • the bayoneting of the Chinese was very very random

  • Im glad to see that you fire this rifle. I know a lot of people who have rifles picked up off the beaches of normandy, and several of my friends own rifles their grandfathers picked up on the islands. They never shoot them, never look at them. Its truly a waste of history.

  • @Howie262 I wouldnt let you shoot any of my rifles, including this one, life or death.

As far as the Japanese copying the Germans, the Type 99s had the strongest actions tested of all WWII era rifles.

  • @mag30th The Remington Model of 1917 had the mauser claw on it as well. It was cock on close however like the Enfield, and the safety mimics that of the Enfield No.1 Mk.3 except on the right side, not the left. The Springfield M1903 was an outright copy of the Kar98k apparently though I've yet to get a 1903.

  • @mag30th, I believe the ones you arn't ever supposed to shoot are the very rare really last ditch ones with *cast iron* recievers. But I am not sure any of those were really actually issued to anyone. Obviously, that isn't cast iron. And yes, the Arisaka was rated the strongest action. And as for copying, the US copied the Mauser action for the Springfield, and did not improve it!

  • @mag30th A lot of people thing the Arisakas are complete garbage, they work pretty reasonably as as you said - very very strong action.

  • @mag30th Yes maby but the Arisaka rifle has a modifid kar bolt ation

  • @Howie262 The japanese don't turn it shitty it's just by the end of the war they had a desperate need to get as many rifles as possible to equip their soldiers which meant taking short cuts.

  • @Plekky08 That's right, they were so short on supplies that they were even resorting to making bullets out of iron for lack of lead.

  • @Howie262 LOL you got it .

  • @Howie262 I'm not japanese, but i have to admit that they make some things the best like: Most US game consols, Dirt bikes : Yamaha, Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki. u'll rarely see a serious non-japanese dirt bike. They make great airsoft guns, cars like toyota, mitsubishi, subaru, etc...as far as guns go, my favorites= german and american, period.

  • @SuperSneakySniper subaru is australian.

  • @PissinBullets Lol yah I know I caught that after I typed it i was like "aww crap"

But ehh o well, australians make some good things too :)

  • @PissinBullets Subaru is Australian? ROFL! That is the most stupid thing I have ever heard..

  • @Howie262 Actually the type 99 is a copy of captured m1 garands

  • ever hear of the rap of nanking? thats why some of the chinsese still dont like the japanese

  • @1hunterdale You're saying every last japanese soldier should have been killed? Really? If you think about it they were just men with orders, just like their American, British and other counterparts, you can't blame a soldier for following orders, just the men issuing them.

  • @Plekky08 know i meen every last one of them fucks should have been killed men woman and childern all of them fucking rats
