I just hopped to your videos by accident and to say I'm so glad to have found someone as talented as you are is an understatement. Like someone else commented, it's the passion, the soul. Your guitar is lyrical, almost singing with such feeling. Wow. I wish I could play half as good but I'm only beginning..haha. I think that's one of the things that separates you from the rest. No I didn't mean style wise. I meant yours has soul and Mojo. Theirs is kinda mechanical. Plus the intolerable mistake John makes at the begining. I also like the way you enjoy playing. That's what music is all about. I might be wrong and unfair to McLaughlin and DeLucia who btw are great , but I enjoyed your version better. Actualy I loved every single song you put on youtube for our enjoyment for what I thank you so much.

Gee thanks. I am acutally working on a totally different idea to the verse these days to make in more lyrical, rather than keep the bass going - just for the A section though.

I think that the other version mentioned has a lot to offer, but it is way more about flash than groove, you can't really pat your foot to theirs too easily.

Interested people should also check out the Chick Corea/Bobby McFerrin version, and the version found in an Oxfam Fairtrade shop CD - Latin Jazz is the CD's name, I think the publisher is the "Rough Guide to..." label.
