  • He left cause the NBA and him and the Bulls know his dad was killed because his dad's death. It was a mafia hit for gambling debt.

  • @UDubFootballFan If it was a mafia hit for a gambling debt wouldn't MJ be able to pay that off? he was rich. But one thing I don't get that if it is true, if this was a mafia hit, doesn't it seem kind of fishy that James Jordan, Michael's father stopped on the side of the road and fell asleep in his car? who does that =s I'm assuming if you're the father of Michael Jordan if you were too tired to drive on the road, you can have a chauffeur drive u around?

  • @UDubFootballFan They know his dad was killed cause of his dads death. Well i think everyone knows he dad was killed because of his death.

  • You wonder what would have happened if he didn't quit after the 3rd championship. I believe they would have won again and maybe more in a row

  • baseball was his dad's passion, but basketball is HIS passion.

  • should have stayed with a good sport like baseball...

  • lebron has nothing on this guy...

  • phil jackson was like yo man, lets go to joshua tree, do some shrooms, and think it over

  • did he die?

  • Phil Jackson: He told me Michael is'nt playing basketball this season... *FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU*

  • Phil Jackson: He told me Michael is'nt playing this basketball this season... *FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU*

  • the bulls will win this season

  • Phil Jackson sound like Riddick

  • He did not retire for any other reason than gambling....

  • @aaronbar5 that is total bullshit

  • Can't ever watch too many baseball videos.

  • I really hope they make a 30 by 30 doc about Phil Jackson. He's one of the best coaches of all time....coached some of the best players of all time...you know had controversy up the ying yang....would be awesome to watch.

  • did he suck ass at baseball? i cant really imagine it lol

  • @sikokiller12 he was shit lol

  • 30 for 30 is simply excellent.

  • I cannot imagine Jordan playing baseball for more than a year. Imagine in three years he could have been a fourth outfielder. That is probably the best scenario. The whole thing was not meant to last. It was an impulse decision.

  • The decision by Jordan to play baseball seemed to be sort sighted. Most likely caused by grief following the death of his father. A certain at the time most thought that he would return to the NBA. I think his performance with Birmingham Barons taught a lot about sports. That some great athlete cannot be good at everything. I believe we soon forgot that and resumed buying his products. The truest thing that can be said about Michael Jordan is he has a desire to win at no matter what.

  • Does anyone know the release date of 30 for 30 Volume 2?

  • i used to make 3 points 10 out of 10 times i was 7

i was REALLY good but i quit once Jordan stopped playing

    i regret quitting

  • soooo?, he didnt really rode the bus??

  • and then he left...and then he came back...and then he became the greatest

  • Also he could have been a NFL player, A very tall Receiver.

  • Even Phil knew begging Jordan to stay was a lost cause. Watching that film and based on Jordan's Fall League stats he could have been a MLB player.

  • ESPN this is why watch NBA perhaps even though it has its flaws. I am following this exercise program that's utilized even by NBA players - 50-inch-vertical(dot)com - I'm already jumping higher and leading my team on the court!

  • @BertinaPatzer1930 wow you gay

  • @nooblover23 LMMFAO!!!! xD

  • MJ has HUGE hands

  • ESPN Play basketball? Then you need to see this - | 50 inch vertical [dot] com |. You must take a look! I m 5 10 and started dunking quickly after 2 months of the training!

  • @barrysanchez30 why are gays like you all over youtube

  • EPIC FILM!!!

  • @andyeminem23 hey where can I download this film from?! please tell me, I really want to watch it. I'd really appreciate it.

  • @frusionnn sorry i dont know i saw it when it aired:(

  • @andyeminem23 okay

  • @frusionnn Espn already has there series on amazon.com I know I'm getting this one and a few others these 30 for 30 series is one of the few things Espn has gotten right over the years

  • damn phil's voice are fucking epic.

  • Jerry Reinsdorf sounds like a typical jew

  • @Otoesa Oy vey!

  • @Otoesa I know. he looks & sounds like Raiden from the movie Mortal Kombat Annihilation

  • @Otoesa From that piece it does not sound like he speaks Hebrew.

  • the greatest ball player to ever walk the court and one bad-ass documentary about it. the chi still loves MJ and he is forever welcome to come home

  • Phil Jackson is so cool. I'd like to drink some beer with him and pick his brain.

  • @VinmanMJ23 Scared Hoops is a great read.

  • @2:00 Those are some LONG ASS FEEET!!!!

  • @dalexispe lmao. It's crazy because he only wears a 13 or 13.5 which is not that big considering his height.

  • Nice stuff, I love it. Watch for new music from BRANDON JAROD, awesome!

  • This is like the time I left Washington and went to San Antonio. Sort of.

  • first, this is great docu of mj,his other side..a lot of sides of the story tho, still this makes sense.

2nd. Let us be thankful for Kobe, after mj hes the dominant figure the perfct ambassador for basketball..one cant argue this time and mj's time, tho kobe is old skul, competitive, killer instnct..like mj was.

its funny tho to say mj ws overhyped?..lol, gve me a break!!

if u werent there whn he played..evn on tv,well bter wtch videos,if still overhyped,THEN UV GOT SOME MAJOR PROBLEM!! RESPECT

  • lol

  • SpaceJam was Phil Jackson's inception of Michael Jordan to get him to come back and play basketball.

  • No, what really happened is, Jerry called Phil and told him that Michael didn't want to play basketball. After the paramedics revived him and removed the giant brick from his drawers, Phil gave a reasoned, rational explanation of the fallacies of reasoning informing Michael's decision.

  • @Sierra688 BWHAHAHAHA you should totally do the sequel the one where the lil weasel Stern is begging MJ to come back right about the time where more people are watching OJ on the freeway than game 5 of the 94 finals cuz we all know he did lol

  • MJ could of won 10 or 11 nba str8 titles if he never would of retired in 93

  • @streetmarine this one shud be the most liked, your soo right

  • @streetmarine Aside form the two titles won by the Rockets. Where do you see the Bulls winning two more. Also it would have been interesting to see those Rockets teams play the Bulls. I think the Bulls could have easily beat the first. Otis Thorpe was their second best player. The team with Drexler would have given them more trouble.

  • Loved it I think as a Bulls fan I cant help but wonder about the extra championships I'm positive the team would have won but I still cant say I blame MJ for leaving at all if thats what it took to keep him sane, I have both my parents and if either one died prematurely or were murdered I'd have gone nuts, what was up with the media grillin MJ like their the damn police,he went to A.C. with his father so would they have preferred a freakin strip club, and Sports Illustrated can still SUCK IT

  • this was the best 30 for 30

  • This was a great documentary. HE ACTUALLY COULD'VE MADE IT TO THE BIG LEAGUES. Jordan is a true athlete.

  • Jordan is not the best basketball player to ever play the game neither is he the greatest. He just the best and greatest of his generation......GET IT RIGHT dun!!!!!!!!

  • @TracyJack23 Who was ever better?

  • @kiminokami robert horry got more rings

  • @RealDeal336 You know better than that.

  • Hey Jordan wasn't that bad of a baseball player he did hit for 51 RBI's & 30 stolen bases during his minor league career. I know i'm going to get a lot of heat for what I'm about to say next but i don't care....KOBE IS BETTER THAN JORDAN!

  • @lilze96

    Ur funny!!!

  • @lilze96

because u had never watch the best of jordan, kobe is not yet there...maybe few more years.

  • @lilze96 How so? I gotta hear this.

  • Comment removed

  • This documentary is gonna be awesome

  • Checkout the new song on Youtube "Spilling Our Blood For War"

  • Thank god Bugs Bunny got him to go back to basketball. :)

  • @moopman i loved that movie

  • @moopman lol

  • @moopman good one!

  • @moopman

    Bugs bunny :D

  • i hate the fact that he retired, i can't stop thinking about the possibility of 8 consecutive championships. It's killing me. Same as Barry Sanders retirement, it's killing me not knowing that he could have been the all time leader in rushing yardage. I kind of like the fact the Favre doesn't retire, I still enjoy watching him play. I think athletes should play until their bodies give up. Heck, you know fans will still enjoy watching a legend even past their prime just to see one more magical...

  • never should have come back as a wizard....

    greatest player ,i've ever seen.....tho

didn't see wilt chamberlain play, but nobody dominated like him either...!!!

look up his crazy season to season stats...

    nyKnickfan4life

  • @michaeltiao8 ur being dumb man dont get me wrong kobe is great but even as a Laker fan i can say that he is somewhat a selfish player. I love kobe dont get me wrong he is my favorite player ever but jordan was in a class of his own he shaped basketball to be what it is today. U cant argue that jordan was better or kobe was better because then you have to consider others like larry bird and magic johnson. So id do what @steveryans2 says and that is stfu u have no idea what you r talking about

  • DA BULLS

  • search & subscribe elzie bibbs

  • By the way I'm a knicks fan forever and I respect Jordan because he was just unbelievable. Michael Jordan was humbled by baseball he wasn't good enough to get to the level he did in basketball. He came back to the NBA and won another 3 championships. He dominated the league and crushed any other great player during that time. Ewing, Barkely, Miller, Malone, Drexler, Alojuwon, Stockton, etc. it was Jordan who has the rings. If Jordan retire for those years he would've won 8 in a row.

  • Someone made a comment and I deleted it by accident but if u see what I said and had a problem with it than u have no idea what u r talking about. Lebron, Wade, and kobe didn't change the game like Jordan. Wade and Lebron r good but every great dynasty usually has a great center. Jordan didn't have that he won w/o any center worth mentioning. Kobe had Shaq/Gasol but I would have to admit Kobe is one the greatest. As for u badmouthing the Knicks u sound like a retard don't bother me.

  • i hate ppl who only started watching basketball in the 2000's. so naive and so ignorant

  • @tommybrown187 man, sorry we're not as old as you.

  • @tommybrown187 So you hate virtually everyone under 20? Hmm...

  • @tommybrown187 I hate everyone not watching volleyball before 1980. They all deserve to die in a fire!

  • @tommybrown187 You cannot pick the year you are born. Though I encourage young people to explore NBA History. The Book of Basketball by Bill Simmons is great.

  • holy shit phil jacksons voice is so low

  • @ScubaSteveTF2 Does sound a little different doesnt he lol all the earlier years Phil's voice was raspy but not this low also I wish the Zen Master would go back to rocking the Stache lol

  • ICON RIGHT THERE!!! dont even put kobe in the same sentence as MJ not nobody belongs in that sentence, get with the program people. Jordan never had half the ppll that kobe has or had on his team

  • @brockli22 jordan had the 2 best player on his team when he left they still made it to the fainls

  • @michaeltiao8 yet they lost doesn't matter how far they made it. It matters if they win it.

  • been waiting for this one for a while love these 30 for 30 one of the few things espn has gotten right in awhile lol also the timing of this is uncanny considering james jordan convicted killer is seeking to get out of the joint because of that recent evidence scandal, dude leaves plays another sport then comes back and wins 3 straight again yeah thats the G.O.A.T

  • he is one the best ever not the best ever face it

  • @michaeltiao8 how can you say that kobe is better when jordan is better in pretty much every statistical category. Kobe never shot 50% for a season where jordan did it for his career (with the bulls not talking about when he was 40 and had knee injuries with the wizards). Defensively you can't even compare, there has never even been a debate on who was better. And if jordan had played in this era he would be even better...no hand checking, touch fouls, its a offensive game today

  • @szaret1 he never face guys like d wade melo lbj d rent etc come on i never saw d how they d kobe vs botson every time kobe catch the ball 3 people are on him never seen mj take that look it up

  • @michaeltiao8 jordan faced pistons and knicks whose d would eat this current league up alive so i dont have to look it up since i've watched sports for over 30 years kobe is not even the greatest laker of all time that to me is a tie between magic and kareem, and on certain days i lean towards kareem, kobe is great but will never be better than MJ no matter how many kobe fans or msrk jackson wish it to be so

  • @sportstalk23 *correction mark jackson*

  • @sportstalk23 couldn't agree more with you, that's horseshit jordan "never got d'd up like kobe" you don't need three people when you're running against lambier (sp?) parrish, oakley, any pat riley team. Defense was at a premium for those teams, might have been dirties but DEFINITELY was more physical

  • @steveryans2 things change d today is harded face it all the new technology they got come on

  • @michaeltiao8 what technology? hand check fouls? There's no new technology to play defense. That's one of the biggest complaints today is defense is too poor because people either 1) don't play it at all or 2) get called for cheap fouls. Defense is absolutely not more hardcore than in jordan's era

  • @steveryans2 Jordan's difference.... He broke the double team

  • @jscottperez15 hehe, yup. And also didn't shoot poorly in the finals. I haven't looked it up,but I would imagine 5 of his top ten games all time were in the playoffs. Please tell that to michaeltiao8 also, he's a fuckin idiot

  • @steveryans2 JERRY WEST HAD HIS BEST GAMES IN THE FINALS TO 50 POINT GAMES IN HE CALL KOBE A GOAT

  • @michaeltiao8 Wait, so by jerry west having his best games in the finals, him calling kobe the GOAT makes it so? That makes no sense, until kobe puts up the numbers Michael does he won't be close. Also West was a Laker, you don't think there's some homer-ism going on there from him? Many many many people from all the teams in the NBA and many sports writers consider Jordan the GOAT, NOT Kobe

  • @steveryans2 kobe 81 points 61 points 3point record 62 sit out of the 4 its goes on in on 55 in the playoffs its goes on

  • @michaeltiao8 what? what the hell are you talking about, I can't understand your arguments. If your excuse is you "rush" when you type, slow the fuck down. Why rush, this video's going nowhere. Yeah kobe got 81 points, MJ got 63 against the celts with a mediocre supporting cast in 86, the record for 3s in the PO's against Portland in '91, 55 in his 4th game (?) back against the knicks in 95. Jordan had many more big games when it counted and many more statistically complete games in general

  • @michaeltiao8 thru 198 playoff games, kobe averages 25.5/5.2/4.8 (p/r/a), thru 179 playoff games jordan averaged 33.4/6.4/5.7. The numbers speak for themselves. Jordan only averaged under 30 pts/playoff ONCE, and it was his rookie season coming in at 29.3. Where's the technology defense at back then? Still waiting for that answer

  • @steveryans2 a bro you got me you earn my respect you no your basketball but stats dose not mean everthing kobe one of them players was not a number 1 pick he earn his in work his way up off!!!!!!!!! the beach unlike jordan

  • @michaeltiao8 thanks, but kobe WAS a #1 pick, he was the 13th overall, jordan was the 3rd overall, both in the first round. They both came off the bench their first years

  • @steveryans2 you no bro we can go all year about this they both the best at what they do

  • @michaeltiao8 yeah they're both extremely excellent, different eras are hard to argue thru

  • @sportstalk23 magic call kobe greatest laker of all time look it up dumb ass ;akers fans no if you watch the lakers the goat jerry west said the same thing even call kobe or mj of this time

  • @michaeltiao8 your hysterical kobe fans STAY on Jordan vids why is that, in 3 years of my being on youtube there isnt one Kobe vid I've ever been on cuz he doesnt interest me where I go damn what he did in a game I need to see that shit again, but Kobe fans always on MJ vid because yall know Kobe aint done shit on the level of MJ, MJ is a cultural icon his very name is the personification of greatness, this very retirement was headlines around the world, the 94 Bulls went to East Semis

  • @sportstalk23 be cuz we no this nigga is overhype like if kobe was in jordan place at the time hear we go i wont to be like kobe my bad like mike

  • @michaeltiao8 its no thats your opinion and those who dont like MJ that think he's overhyped thats and if you consider MJ so overhype stay the hell out of jordan videos then dont watch em dont comment on them I consider alot of things in the world overrated so guess what I dont waste time giving them energy also this documentary is 93-94 which means this aint got jack to do with Kobe AT ALL

  • @sportstalk23 KOBE THE OLNY PLAYER I EVER SEE LOOK HUMAN WHEN HE PLAY TOUCH MJ A FOUL!!!!!!!! QUOTE Barkely SIAD TOUCH JORDAN IS A FOUL

  • @michaeltiao8 Ugh. Shut the fuck up.

  • @KyleHHO A BRO JUST SAYING WHAT I FELL MJ SET THE BAR SO HIGH THATNOBODY CAN TOUCH IN ITS GETS ME PISS WHEN PEOPLE SAY THAT

  • @KyleHHO isn't is insane how poorly he (michael tiao8) types and the shittiness of his arguments? So frustrating arguing with a retard lol

  • @steveryans2 Why does it matter how i type how poorly .Dude i just rush when i type so what. Last time heard we was talking about kobe and mj .Not spellling dumb ass retart.

  • you had to be a jordan fan be cuz it was nobody to else

  • @michaeltiao8 I don't know if you can compare the Laker greats. That would be like saying Bill Russell is better than Larry Bird. How do you base your comparison? Certain Kareem and Shaq are vastly different and they played the same position. The whole idea of greatest is arbitrary. Certain Kobe is a great player and I see why those other players would say that. But certainly Kobe is not the complete player that Magic was. But yet that does not make Magic better.

  • @24Reference kobe 14 years in the nba nuff said

  • @michaeltiao8 Kareem played 20.

  • @michaeltiao8 To further my point at 20 Magic won a National Title at Michigan State. While Kobe was averaging 15.4 ppg for the Lakers. Actually that is not that bad. I thought the number would have been at bit lower. His rookie season he averaged 7.6. Just don't know how you line up the comparison. You can say Kobe is a better athlete. That might be true.

  • @24Reference i think he a better player nba fix games that bulls game was one

  • @24Reference kobe is "more athletic" than magic not a "better athlete" like u said. that's the only thing he has on magic...

  • @wornoutshoes11 They also have different personalities. Kobe is hyper-competitive and Magic is very laid-back and gregarious. Kobe seems like he wants more and Magic seems content. Magic is an amazing business man. You can also compare Kobe's Eagle Colorado incident and Magic acquiring AIDs. They are very different they have won Championships playing guard positions for the Los Angeles Lakers. They both have larger than life personalities.

  • You cannot compare Magic's game to anyone else. That is what makes him unique. Kobe seems to be driven by influence which contributes to his greatness.

  • @michaeltiao8 jordan is way more athletic then kobe so he would dominate this league...its a offensive game now and he played against plenty of good people, erving, drexler, etc

  • June 17, 1994, still the best 30 for 30 documentary.

  • @Amino2 i like the ice cube-raiders and Gretzky doc. june 17, 84 was pretty good too

  • @Amino2 This comment was written by the family of Ronald Goldman...Kidding. I absolutely agree. I like the Arnold Palmer commercials with O.J. That was a great way to tie it together.

  • is it just me or does Michaels foot look hella wierd at 1:59 lol how big are his feet?

  • @Max24LW its his secret to jumping so high..

  • just playing but true kobe like bret fave in one way

  • when is this gonna come on

  • @billcat3 aug 24 at 8. its at the end of the video

  • Jordan came back & won 3 more rings Kobe could never do that!!! Jordan is G.O.A.T

  • kobe is true to the game he will never quit basketball

  • @michaeltiao8 -____-

  • @michaeltiao8 kobe also never had a dead daddy who always wished that he played another sport.. u never know unless the shoe is on the other foot

  • @MegaRamshad like i said i was just playing they should make a documentary about how mj was the only great superstar doing his time you do not wont me to get on jordan he like lbj one way they overhype they trying to make this guy superhuman but he not kobe is better then mj every time kobe dont past the ball they call him a ball hog but when its mj or lbj or even dwade they oh they need the ball bullshit 5 rings goig on 6 bitchs

  • @michaeltiao8 dude.. i was never arguin over whos better lol.. thats up for the basketball gods to decide

  • @MegaRamshad ohs my bad bro mj is a goat

  • @MegaRamshad do not get me wong he is a goat but little bit overhype

  • LOL jordan is a little bit overhype?... righttttttt..... u go against the grain just so u can try to sound like u know the game of basketball. watch some of jordans games closely.

  • @michaeltiao8 His Dad was a basketball player.

  • Nobody you or I know have mastered their craft like MJ. I'm trying in my field but to keep the focus like he did is insane. Crazy dominant!

  • @larrybird3323 agree. it just shows how much the man mastered the game when he left and then came back and won three more rings right away.

  • check out the girls legs in the baseball pic at 0:56

  • Amazing, the greatest player with the greatest coach.

  • 30 for 30 is the best.. Stright Outta LA is my favorite so far..

  • awesome

  • 30 for 30 is awesome, and this one is the one i've waited for the longest... its gonna be awesome.

  • @brunao when does it come on?

  • @brunao never mind i just saw the last bit hahahhahahahahahha

  • I know way more about this topic than the other 30 for 30s Ive watched, but I still can't wait to see this one.. 30 for 30 = one of the best things that happened to ESPN
