what do u recommend someone with potential ADD who has a doctor that is not listening to them? Ive explained all my symptoms and altho she doesnt deny the possibility of me having ADD, she wont refer me for a diagnosis saying it wont make a difference. Its causing me great depression so she gave me some anti depressants to help my mood when the reason I'm depressed is because I want a diagnosis which Im being denied. the meds are not helping with my lack of focus. I dunno what to do :(
Thanks for taking the time to make this video, it was a lot of great information and so true!!! I have ADD, was finally just diagnosed. Do you take Adderall or medications for it? Does it help? I am so tired of misplacing keys, phones, credit cards etc etc... tired of the chaos. Tired of people being annoyed with my lateness and bad listening- I haven't started therapy or medication but am really hoping I improve once I do... I took your advice and put out a tray for my important things.
@anniek55112 potential ADD here. i misplace keys and phones all the time, i swear every single day they are in a different place. I also took some measurements for a home design project, and guess what, i have plans on the table, on the floor... all over the place. I went to the psychiatrist and he said i should visit a psychologist before to find out if i have none ADHD physiological issues that are inhibiting me from performing.
The thing I MOST need is 4 ppl 2 b more understanding when I'm late. I try SO hard 2 b ON TIME, but I often leave & go back 4 things (as many as 6 times!) no matter WHAT I do! SO frustrating. :( I've had fam members embarrass me SO badly by holding up an event becuz of me. (Once it was CHRISTMAS dinner! I was horrified! Oh, the dirty looks! :( Even worse was the "cold shoulder" energy I got tho! Ugh!) I do NOT intentionally try 2 ruin anything. It's SO awful (& hard) 2 deal with, so PLS be kind!
I'm a 46-yr-old Mom who was recently diagnosed w/ADD. It's been SO "enlightening" 2 learn more about WHY I am the way I am & do the things I do! Thx SO much 4 this! I hope ppl won't feel like the world's "against" them... but take ur advice & get a system! At work, I just always seemed 2 work 10x harder than every1 else, lol! But u can still do GREAT if u just get ur own "system." There's a chaotic circus in my head most of the time; guided meditation & hypnosis (on YouTube) is MY lifesaver! :)

My life too man, I'm 21, and in university and it is extremely hard for me to do well, I have so much on my mind, but I want to do well...thanks for this, I'm going to show my parents this so maybe they can try and understand a little more. Diagnosed when I was 19.
FROM ALL THE VIDEO I SEEN THIS ONE HELPED ME A LOT THANKS FOR THE VIDEO...AND I'M ONLY 20 YEARS OLD...AND I'M PRETTY SURE I HAVE ADHD...MY HEAD IS LIE A CARNIVAL SOMETIMES...I FORGET THINGS TO..BUT I'M GOOD AT OTHER THINGS I ACT WRITE SHORT STORIES TO I DO ALL KINDS OF THINGS...BUT I GET DISTRACTED FAST WITH THE SMALLEST THINGS...I BEEN LIKE THAT MY WHOLE 20 YEARS IN THIS WORLD
hmmm I don't know if I have ADD or ADHD, but.... My parents, employers, and school teachers of the past would say things like, "gets easily distracted, daydreams, slow, can't focus, can't memorize, lack of common sense, etc." I do have alot of varied interests, I noticed one day how I accumulated a large varied playlist that YouTube has been keeping track of, It's because of YouTube that I started wondering about this mental disorder.
i am studying business iam not doing good because i have a VERY hard time concentrating when reading cause i freakin think off other things at the same time.Anyways i think u said we are good on artistic things.I hapen to like music very much and teach myself to play piano and the guitar the only time i can maybe cocentrate
i have add man , it i took me 20 min to listen to all you speach cause i ll be honest i lost interest a couple of times and got distracted some other times ....
Creativity is great n all but please don't b fooled by hyper-focus , love ur self enough to give ur potential a chance get medicated , it's not about fitting in but self reliance . Real love is freedom , as long as u live among other u can do nothing but hate urself .
My son I think has ADD ,it's very difficult to make him pay attention. He's very forget ful,He can't even get a book report done.He is very smart, he can write computer scripts. He's just forgetful and he day dreams all the time, also he's very sloppy...He needs alot of patience.I love him,omg he trying to read this I have to go..
i'm nearly 45 and trying to get my ocd hubbie to understand what its like to be me. we just got into it again because i left a bowl on the table from breakfast. he can't just pick up the bowl and take it to the sink (like i would have), he can't just comment "oi - you left the bowl again" in a non-judgmental way. no, we have to have the whole "were you planning to have more breakfast?" and then he waits for the answer. i then oh shit, what did i do now? and...
@threenorns3 start scrolling through everything trying to figure out what's set him off this time. he simply cannot grasp that while i have improved 9000 percent, i am still going to forget things, leave things, lose things, etc. he doesn't grasp that this is a real problem for him - not me, honestly, i don't give a rat's: next time i pass by and see the bowl, i'll think "oh yeah - forgot that" and to the sink it goes. is a little give and take too much to ask?
@threenorns3 sorry - got a bit ranty there. anyway, i do follow your system - WHEN i remember. the bowl this morning: he passed by and said he's going to the shop, if i want something, write it down. i remembered a fun activity i wanted to do with our daughter (also diagnosed adhd) and left to write the list. had to look up the activiy on the net and you know where that went. wrote the list - and he'd left 10min before. so i left to go paint the old apt.
I got ADD, and when i got my meds (i'm on Concerta, 72mg a day) i could FINALLY remember things, concentrate, stay on topic in conversations, etc.etc.etc.
if someone took my meds away, id CAPSRAGE and theyd be in a tremedous amount of pain untill id get my meds back...people who claim meds are un-nessesary and generally bad/evil/plot made by med-manufacters to earn money either DON'T have add/adhd, havent lived with anyone with add/adhd or are generally ignorant.
SHUT THE FUCK UP! I HAVE BAD ADHD, I DONT GIVE A SHIT WHEN PEOPLE SAY THEY ARE I WAS TESTED AND TAKE MEDICINE BUT DON'T WHINE ABOUT IT. FUCKIN DEAL WITH IT. SHUT THE FUCK UP WOMEN
Hey man, can you make another video with tips/advice for adults with ADD/ADHD? I really liked this video, some of the stuff you said I'm already doing. Like since I watched it, now- certain things like things I need to do, I will write it down right away, schedule it etc.. And I'm considering getting something like that bowl u got there dude.. yeah man, anything else would be great. Or if anyone else on here wants to make one thanks!
Dude,I have ADD/ADHD too man. And yeah I totally agree with this guy! I forget stuff all the time! People accuse me of being a Lier, etc.. like I do these things intentionally. And I too do all kinds of stuff, and am good at all kinds of stuff. I play hockey avidly, guitar avidly, HUGE! Chess fan avid player, Big time Math fan, business owner, I'm even starting to do stand up & write comedy just for fun dude. That's freakin crazy..
@Thanx1982 Yeah dude, please do. I started seeing a psychologist like a few weeks ago, it's getting better bro. I don't want to take medicine for it, are you? I bought myself a little alarm clock, & when I go online, or on youtube/what ever distraction I'm about to engage in. I'll set the alarm clock for like 30 minutes or something, & my rule is. When that bell goes off, that's it! Shut it down, no more! Cause I get stuck on it for like 5 hours & the days over bro.
@HockeyAdvice WORDD!! my mom doesnt understand at all and think my temper tantrums or not listening and not staying still :P but o well im special and awesome and i like being misunderstood cause it makes me unique :)
@star2474 Dude make another video with more Advice. I went on this forum called ADDforums you'll have to google it. Anyway man, make more vids! With advice!
WOW! These are all the same issues I have been having but I never knew someone else would have them too. This really helped me out. Im glad you made this video.
I just found out that I have ADHD in 2010, but I've been dealing with it all my life. I can relate to almost everything that you said. It's encouraging to hear that the things I do (i.e., losing things, forgetting things, etc.) aren't so unusual. Thanks for this.
Why don't we have a community ? And why do we act like immortals from Highlander , so distant to one another . Attention is a big part of cognition so it's hard for us to see the distance we often use to protect ourselves so that's why we often need support groups . That I could never get use to . Good luck 2 all my gifted family . Love Harrison ^_^
The Irony is we're helpful to others but not ourselves like earth angels , wish we had an insurance system . the very thing we need help in , keeps us from getting help . Good luck to those with poor support groups we'll need it *_*
I have to chain my keys to my wallet or I'll lose one or the other, we're so alike it's weird . Oh as long as a job require labor only I'm good but your wright . Good luck pal n most of all be happy . ^_^
ADHD = Can't concentrate- alot of ''normal'' people can sit in school read about christopher colombus and how he had 3 ships (ithink lol) and how he discovered america and that he had beautiful long hair and how he secretly loved cocks BUT people with adhd DONT GIVE A SHIT ABOUT CHRIS (lol) they start to daydream in the middle of the class and then they cant finish their homework becouse they have to read AGAIN about howCOLOMBUS discovered america and we have to do all of that just to get an A
@NoobTheAssassin and i know that the whole 'cant concentrate' is bullshit becouse as some may now people with adhd can hyper focus O_o ok before i continue let me get this straight people with adhd cant concentrate becouse they have problems with their frontal part of their brain....... if you cant concentrate normaly becouse u have a problem in your brain then how are going to be able to HYPERfocus -___-
@NoobTheAssassin people with adhd also think alot of random things but i dont know y people think this is bad....example: a normal guy may look to the sun and may think 'wow what sunny day' BUT a guy with adhd may be thinking about rockets, dinner, teletubbies ect. all in less than 3 seconds. HOW can that be bad at all, rockets space moon SUN, dinner hot SUN, teletubbies (the fat baby in the sky)SUN. ;D
@NoobTheAssassin basically, when I hyperfocus, it's usually based around when I should be doing a paper or something, then I get sidetracked on the web trying to find a source and spend the next four hours reading up on something really interesting. Time disappears and I don't realize how long I've been studying one specific thing when I should be working on something else. There's so much stimuli in one subject that it pulls me in. I should be able to tear myself away, but I cant. get it? :)
@NoobTheAssassin There are some differences between A.D.D. and A.D.H.D. With A.D.H.D. it is not just the fact that they/ me are hyperactive if it were that simple it would be great lol I love having energy, and lots of it. Besides the hyperactivity compulsiveness is the main characteristic that separates the 2. Believe me during the 6 hour testing process there was nothing energetic about me at all, but I was willing to endure the boredom to see it it were legit. I didn't do a short yes no
@Thanx1982 at my university, the psychologist only uses the term adhd, she said technically thats the only one(no such thing as just ADD) its just there are branches of adhd, hyperactivity does not necessarily mean motion and moving around, according to her because i have hyperactivity of the brain i suffer from internal distractions, i do tap my foot and fidget constantly but i was never a "hyper" running around kid......aside from that i feel the same way as you with many things
@NoobTheAssassin questionnaire, I did the long boring, extensive brain testing etc. If you want to learn about hyperfocus, why and how it happens to people with A.D.D. and A.D.H.D. there are many articles on the web explaining how it comes about. In very short Hyperfocus is not just overfocusing it also Obsessively locking into a specific detail a lot of the times, has nothing to do with the chapter reading, project etc. technically speaking everyone is paying attn at all times but not
@NoobTheAssassin necessarily to the task that is supposed to be completed/achieved. Not everyone is effected the same either some have trouble reading that have it and some dont. The impact it has on the individual just depends. I don't know whats normal but I know that I have been able to identify some of the challenges I have, and found some ways to get things done despite that.
Hi I'm Jessie :) I have adult ADD/HD..... my best firend doesn't believe me... and how hard to control the thoughts are, my emotions are always on daily ups and downs, and how remembering to turn off the oven is a major milestone for me
thank you for making this blog to show people what we go through
I have ADD as well, I have to check for phone, keys, wallet for more than 10 times before I leave the house everyday haha. And no matter where I go I must have my phone in my right pocket and my wallet in my left pocket otherwise I will get freakout and run home and then I realize I dont need my wallet -*- Luckily, Im study in Film and TV which keep me active most of the time. But outside class I tend to slip mind. I also get depression easily. And I pray to god everynight to put me to sleep :'(
I do recognize that. I didn't feel it was empty in that way (like air&stupid) but I did get a wooow feeling about it. Like "wow is THIS how "normal" pple have it in their head?" More a relief. But I did find myself beeing like a hermit&even felt uncomfortable walking down to the store. I should add that at the time when I started the meds I had other things aka problems around me that could have had an impact on it. Now I have been on strattera for 5 days. Lets c where that goes :oP
to me things and talking about follow up appointment, i completely zoned out, in fact i had to ask her to repeat herself three times. i felt like a fool. it seems i get loss in the cloudy-ness and static of my mind and wandering thoughts. do you ever feel this way?? and yes, i am VERY artistic, its what i love, photography, fine arts, dancing etc. academics BORE me, besides math which is a love/hate relationship lol. get back at me please! all my family and friends just say im lazy and dumb,
I always feel like there is "chatter" and "static" in my brain, where it kinda makes my mind really fuzzy and cloudy. Random and wandering thoughts all the time. When i speak to people and listen to lecture i would zone out without noticing, and im constantly fidgeting whether it is tapping a pencil, spinning a pencil, tapping my feet, tapping my fingers, i would regain attention and lose it within five seconds. I recently went to doctors and asked them about it, and while she was explaining
Hey, i just saw this video, and it is great. I think i may be suffering from adult ADHD (im 20) but I do not remember how i was when i was a child. I've been doing horrible in college, its my 3rd year and im still doing my general education work, school is very difficult. I ALWAYS forget things, my mom always tells me im lazy and why i always forget things, i just cant help it, i'll remind myself to do something and forget it the next second.
WEAK!! YOU CAN SPEAK LIKE A REGULAR PERSON??!! GOOD FOR YOU, KUNT!! THE REST OF US ARE CUM-FUCKED & DESTINED TO HACK THE STALE MEAT FROM OUR BRAINS, DESTROYiNG OURSELVES BECAUSE WE "ARE" OUR PROBLEMS!! THEY ARE IN-FUCKING-SEPARABLE!! WE ARE HARDWIRED THIS WAY!! WE WERE BORN SUFFERING AND WE WILL DIE SUFFERING, NONE THE WISER. THERE IS ZERO CURE!!!!!!!! THEREFORE ZERO TRUE RELEIF!!! FUUCCKK YOUR EMPTY HOLLOW BULLSHIT TWO CENT RAMBLE; WE ARE FUCKED NO MATTER HOW YOU SPRAY UNWELCOME SUGER OVER IT!!
i was diagnosed with adhd a week ago. my teachers didnt tell me i had it earlier. me and u have the same comparisons. i forget things i do the wallet checks and key checks thank u for ur video! god bless
I feel so ashamed of being this ''complicated'' guy who has this personal ''AD(H)D'' manual that i need to teach other people. Even some very close friends who i love with all my heart, after telling them the reasons why i messed up college, all the ADHD crap and everything, they still (sometimes) think it's a ''willpower'' issue. I really hate the fact that only my AD(H)D collegues are able to really understand the impact it can have on how we function. Or how we're NOT functioning!
I have ADHD and Borderline so i am screwed but ritalin works but concerta works better: still my relations with gf 's always won t work and i try it really to do it good, i am maybe silly i say i tell this but i hope people understand me here .
i hate it when people feel sorry for just u cuz u have ADHD or when they feel sorry for themselves! i have ADHD and 4 other disorders and its hard but not to the point when you're all like " thats it i'm not doing work because i know i'm gonna fail" i have this friend that has ADHD like me and she blames her ADHD on everything, its stupid -_- ... nice video by the way it gave me ideas of organizing my things =)
the "i'm thinking about" part is SO me, lol......thanks for the informative vid...now here's something totally off-topic that you won't want to hear: your mom was right: the earrings look nice, but the lip piercing doesn't...those are for ugly people (translation: you're super hot...yeah, you already knew that part...must be nice to get attention from both genders...damn, life is so unfair...oh, sorry, i was just rambling...hey, did i mention that i have ADHD?) :D
m 19 i cant study and focus.my mind starts wandering ,daydreaming a lot.i used to be good at studies in school but from around age 15 i find studies very hard.i feel anxious around in crowd, neither i want to be left alone.i dont like doing boring stuff or things that are not easy.Do i have ADHD/ADD or nothing ?
At first i was wondering if i was wrong all the times i joked that "oh, thats just my ADD". But as soon as you started describing yourself, i knew i wasnt. I have the million thoughts at once problem, I forget everything (except seemingly useless info), yet i am quite smart (I also feel weird saying that, but it is true). I think the intelligence comes from the million thoughts, we observe everything we come across and it somehow is retained. Im also great at multi tasking. Thanks for the vid.
I was diagnosed 5 months ago&got ritalin 2months later. I did notice a huge difference, but the sideeffect (that made me quit) was that I got a bit of a hermit, didnt like to be around pple. Maybe because I felt the difference&my head went from 200 thoughts to 5. Dont know, will contact my doctor again to see what he says. I know my son (who also has ADHD) did get really bad moodswings on concerta, then they switched to medikinet&now he doent even have his assistent in school
Wow, so much blabbering. I couldn't listen to it all... One reason for that is probably because I don't speak English fluently and you're talking about quite a lot of different things which makes it a bit messy. I haven't been diagnosed with ADD but it was interesting to hear some of what you said, even though I can't remember much of it at all :P. I really wish I was creative as well. I know I have some creativity in me but I have no talent whatsoever... once I do something creative it sucks.
@thanx1982 really? Because I've tried painting and i feel like that I can't paint well because I try to rush things... I also believe that might have to do with anxiety too.
You can tell he does have ADHD because he keeps starting one topic, changing to something else half way through and he never gets back to the first topic. I do that all the time.
Hi great video. Despite the fact that people with ADD/ADHD ofter are very sensitive people it can be quite useful to stay calm when someone tells you an opinion loaded with emotion. I can understand how some people think that people with this disorder are bad and can't be trusted. They had experiences that reinforced negative emotion in them and like all humans they become biased when they see a certain behavior more then once. They say that person is like that every time. Its not true.
I currently am not diagnosed with ADD/ADHD (I'm 28 and can't afford the treatment/diagnosis) but I've been certain that since I was a child I've had this disorder but my mother would just do the typical "You're just lazy", etc. excuses. Even at this age if I mention adhd she automatically dismisses the conversation. I found it funny how you mentioned your "keys wallet phone" check as I do the EXACT same thing. Mine goes something like "Wallet, Phone Keys, Ass, Yep got everything I need." Lol.
Hi. Im 23 years old with adhd. Im a forgetter of everything. I forget where i sit things down, where i park my car, what day of the week it is sometimes. My husband sometimes doesn't understand why I forget so many things all the time. Thanks for making this video to help all those who don't understand, understand a little better.
i like this video. a carnival in your head. thats what my son said it feels like. the dr gave him meds and he wasn't my son anymore): we cut the dose in half he still has amazing energy but can do school work better. i get mad when people say things like oh im havin an add moment when they don't have it. the same way i get mad when people say thats so gay(because my daughters a lesbian) people need to be more sensitive. as a family we have been through so much. its hard. but in time you can deal
You hit the nail right on to it. I appriciate the advice. Your confidence shows and many with this adhd lack it. The tools you gave , I use most of them except one and I know I have to do it. thanks for the reminder.
Question: how do people with ADHD handle criticism? I know people with certain disorders can't take criticism too well. Are people with ADHD among those that can't handle criticism as well as people who don't have ADHD?
What about the drugs though? I've heard that they are the answer...almost overnight. Amphetamines that slow everything down in the mind. Allowing ADD'er to focus, finish and accomplish.
People should understand that ADD'ers generally can not follow a conversation, cannot remember things, are constantly in confusion, and cannot be relied on? That is a lot for people to understand. There is no trust.
what do u recommend someone with potential ADD who has a doctor that is not listening to them? Ignore the QUACKS that deny this pathology.
It IS vastly over-diagnosed as an excuse to give a child SPEED to motivate them and not have to teach to them. (Usually bored and VERY smart!)

i'm nearly 45 and trying to get my ocd hubbie to understand what its like to be me. we just got into it again because i left a bowl on the table from breakfast. he can't just pick up the bowl and take it to the sink (like i would have), he can't just comment "oi - you left the bowl again" in a non-judgmental way. no, we have to have the whole "were you planning to have more breakfast?" and then he waits for the answer. i then oh shit, what did i do now? and...
threenorns3 4 months ago
@threenorns3 start scrolling through everything trying to figure out what's set him off this time. he simply cannot grasp that while i have improved 9000 percent, i am still going to forget things, leave things, lose things, etc. he doesn't grasp that this is a real problem for him - not me, honestly, i don't give a rat's: next time i pass by and see the bowl, i'll think "oh yeah - forgot that" and to the sink it goes. is a little give and take too much to ask?
threenorns3 4 months ago

HockeyAdvice 6 months ago
Dude,I have ADD/ADHD too man. And yeah I totally agree with this guy! I forget stuff all the time! People accuse me of being a Lier, etc.. like I do these things intentionally. And I too do all kinds of stuff, and am good at all kinds of stuff. I play hockey avidly, guitar avidly, HUGE! Chess fan avid player, Big time Math fan, business owner, I'm even starting to do stand up & write comedy just for fun dude. That's freakin crazy..

@HockeyAdvice SOrry for the delay yes I will make a follow up video soon actually.
Thanx1982 5 months ago
@Thanx1982 Yeah dude, please do. I started seeing a psychologist like a few weeks ago, it's getting better bro. I don't want to take medicine for it, are you? I bought myself a little alarm clock, & when I go online, or on youtube/what ever distraction I'm about to engage in. I'll set the alarm clock for like 30 minutes or something, & my rule is. When that bell goes off, that's it! Shut it down, no more! Cause I get stuck on it for like 5 hours & the days over bro.

Love Harrison ^_^
mickhawk911 7 months ago
The Irony is we're helpful to others but not ourselves like earth angels , wish we had an insurance system . the very thing we need help in , keeps us from getting help . Good luck to those with poor support groups we'll need it *_*

ADHD = Can't concentrate- alot of ''normal'' people can sit in school read about christopher colombus and how he had 3 ships (ithink lol) and how he discovered america and that he had beautiful long hair and how he secretly loved cocks BUT people with adhd DONT GIVE A SHIT ABOUT CHRIS (lol) they start to daydream in the middle of the class and then they cant finish their homework becouse they have to read AGAIN about howCOLOMBUS discovered america and we have to do all of that just to get an A
NoobTheAssassin 9 months ago 7
@NoobTheAssassin and i know that the whole 'cant concentrate' is bullshit becouse as some may now people with adhd can hyper focus O_o ok before i continue let me get this straight people with adhd cant concentrate becouse they have problems with their frontal part of their brain....... if you cant concentrate normaly becouse u have a problem in your brain then how are going to be able to HYPERfocus -___-
NoobTheAssassin 9 months ago
@NoobTheAssassin people with adhd also think alot of random things but i dont know y people think this is bad....example: a normal guy may look to the sun and may think 'wow what sunny day' BUT a guy with adhd may be thinking about rockets, dinner, teletubbies ect. all in less than 3 seconds. HOW can that be bad at all, rockets space moon SUN, dinner hot SUN, teletubbies (the fat baby in the sky)SUN. ;D
NoobTheAssassin 9 months ago
@NoobTheAssassin basically, when I hyperfocus, it's usually based around when I should be doing a paper or something, then I get sidetracked on the web trying to find a source and spend the next four hours reading up on something really interesting. Time disappears and I don't realize how long I've been studying one specific thing when I should be working on something else. There's so much stimuli in one subject that it pulls me in. I should be able to tear myself away, but I cant. get it? :)
BunnyXBrootality 8 months ago
@NoobTheAssassin There are some differences between A.D.D. and A.D.H.D. With A.D.H.D. it is not just the fact that they/ me are hyperactive if it were that simple it would be great lol I love having energy, and lots of it. Besides the hyperactivity compulsiveness is the main characteristic that separates the 2. Believe me during the 6 hour testing process there was nothing energetic about me at all, but I was willing to endure the boredom to see it it were legit. I didn't do a short yes no
Thanx1982 9 months ago
@Thanx1982 at my university, the psychologist only uses the term adhd, she said technically thats the only one(no such thing as just ADD) its just there are branches of adhd, hyperactivity does not necessarily mean motion and moving around, according to her because i have hyperactivity of the brain i suffer from internal distractions, i do tap my foot and fidget constantly but i was never a "hyper" running around kid......aside from that i feel the same way as you with many things
lebrontravelled 8 months ago
@NoobTheAssassin questionnaire, I did the long boring, extensive brain testing etc. If you want to learn about hyperfocus, why and how it happens to people with A.D.D. and A.D.H.D. there are many articles on the web explaining how it comes about. In very short Hyperfocus is not just overfocusing it also Obsessively locking into a specific detail a lot of the times, has nothing to do with the chapter reading, project etc. technically speaking everyone is paying attn at all times but not
Thanx1982 9 months ago
@NoobTheAssassin necessarily to the task that is supposed to be completed/achieved. Not everyone is effected the same either some have trouble reading that have it and some dont. The impact it has on the individual just depends. I don't know whats normal but I know that I have been able to identify some of the challenges I have, and found some ways to get things done despite that.

@Thanx1982
Lets c where that goes :oP

to me things and talking about follow up appointment, i completely zoned out, in fact i had to ask her to repeat herself three times. i felt like a fool. it seems i get loss in the cloudy-ness and static of my mind and wandering thoughts. do you ever feel this way?? and yes, i am VERY artistic, its what i love, photography, fine arts, dancing etc. academics BORE me, besides math which is a love/hate relationship lol. get back at me please! all my family and friends just say im lazy and dumb,
Evo2nr90 10 months ago
I always feel like there is "chatter" and "static" in my brain, where it kinda makes my mind really fuzzy and cloudy. Random and wandering thoughts all the time. When i speak to people and listen to lecture i would zone out without noticing, and im constantly fidgeting whether it is tapping a pencil, spinning a pencil, tapping my feet, tapping my fingers, i would regain attention and lose it within five seconds. I recently went to doctors and asked them about it, and while she was explaining

Or how we're NOT functioning!

i hate it when people feel sorry for just u cuz u have ADHD or when they feel sorry for themselves! i have ADHD and 4 other disorders and its hard but not to the point when you're all like " thats it i'm not doing work because i know i'm gonna fail" i have this friend that has ADHD like me and she blames her ADHD on everything, its stupid -_- ... nice video by the way it gave me ideas of organizing my things =)

the "i'm thinking about" part is SO me, lol......thanks for the informative vid...now here's something totally off-topic that you won't want to hear: your mom was right: the earrings look nice, but the lip piercing doesn't...those are for ugly people (translation: you're super hot...yeah, you already knew that part...must be nice to get attention from both genders...damn, life is so unfair...oh, sorry, i was just rambling...hey, did i mention that i have ADHD?) :D

@TheDescentJatt you probaly have ADD the inattentive kind not the hyperactive

At first i was wondering if i was wrong all the times i joked that "oh, thats just my ADD". But as soon as you started describing yourself, i knew i wasnt. I have the million thoughts at once problem, I forget everything (except seemingly useless info), yet i am quite smart (I also feel weird saying that, but it is true). I think the intelligence comes from the million thoughts, we observe everything we come across and it somehow is retained. Im also great at multi tasking. Thanks for the vid.

@idioticLosers
Scorpioladie1 1 year ago
Wow, so much blabbering. I couldn't listen to it all... One reason for that is probably because I don't speak English fluently and you're talking about quite a lot of different things which makes it a bit messy. I haven't been diagnosed with ADD but it was interesting to hear some of what you said, even though I can't remember much of it at all :P. I really wish I was creative as well. I know I have some creativity in me but I have no talent whatsoever... once I do something creative it sucks.

Mine goes something like "Wallet, Phone Keys, Ass, Yep got everything I need." Lol.

i like this video. a carnival in your head. thats what my son said it feels like. the dr gave him meds and he wasn't my son anymore): we cut the dose in half he still has amazing energy but can do school work better. i get mad when people say things like oh im havin an add moment when they don't have it. the same way i get mad when people say thats so gay(because my daughters a lesbian) people need to be more sensitive. as a family we have been through so much. its hard. but in time you can deal

JohnnyRock2000 2 years ago
Ask people to understand and not to judge?
People should understand that ADD'ers generally can not follow a conversation, cannot remember things, are constantly in confusion, and cannot be relied on? That is a lot for people to understand. There is no trust.
