I took a look at this after having the opportunity to look and listen to Sunny Schwartz on C-Span Book TV last night. I am what you may fairly describe as a white, right wing male who is also a pretty darn good correctional officer. This person has insights worth understanding. This morning I ordered her book online. I look forward to reading it. I think she is inspiring.

the real waste is locking people up and having them sit and do nothing all day except as it was said, learn to be better criminals-- and then they come back to our society worse off!-now that is what I call a waste and a rip off to us! The current system is horrible for us law abiding citizens!-if you think it's a waste--what should government do? what's your solution?

Sunny Schwartz is amazing. She doesn't just talk about helping people, she actually helps people understand who they are, and who they can become. As she said, we need "services that much struggles." That's how we should run the country, let alone the prison system. She is passionate about her work and deeply committed to the people who enter RSVP. "Everyday is therapy!" I always learn something about myself around Sunny, as I know the many people she has touched can testify. Sunny, you rock.

This video confirmed the great work Sunny and SF RSVP does.  This program has the potential to change the lives of those victimized by abuse. I define victimization from both sides those who abuse and those abused. Our prisons/jails are crowded with people who were victimized and they complete the circle by becoming predators. The work Sunny does has the potential to change the face of abuse. I salute Sunny and I'm proud to say she is my friend, mentor, and hero as we fight the battle
