  • Sacharin schmaltz!

  • shit

  • Indeed it is not the group singing on the record. It is well documented the single was recorded and pressed before the group ever met, they have even admited it.. The record was recorded by session singers Claire Torrey, Kay Garner, Tony Burrows, Russell Stone with the groups manager David Martin on lead vocals. Compere the recorded version with them singing live on Top of the Pops. Totally different vocals.

  • @QueensburyBradford Yep, thats definitely Clare Torry at the start, the voice hsa got the same orgasmic quality that she displayed on Floyds "Great Gig in the Sky"

  • who is singing the male lead vocal on this? it's not Grant. Or maybe it's one of those typical 70s instances of the original record being performed by session singers before the band was put together...?

  • i bought a 5 cd outa morrisons of the 70s for 7 quid today and this is on it, bought some memories bk !

  • I would buy this record again, in 2011!!

  • I cry , memories comes to my mind in Arica, Chile. 1970's I was in H.S. Girls in the beach, almost naked swimming by my side!!!!!!!! I touched some of them, Ha, ha

  • I really love this song but there's a version with a nice instrumental bit right at the very end after the song "ends". It comes swooping back with a repeat of the intro and finally fades out - I have it on tape from the radio but I can't track it down anywhere else!

  • Saw them at the London Palladium in the '70's with my ex wife. I have fonder memories of the group than I do of her!!

  • The first record I ever bought. It cost me 45p! Best 45p I ever spent.

  • Hi Love this song Too, i just about remember it was summer 75, singing it in my head was ..only 3 !

  • I remember this so well. Good choice!!! Featuring Bruce Forsythe's incredibly hot daughter!

  • irresistible isnt it?

  • Was never into them at the time, however when you listen to this now you realise how bloody good this song was!! Very catchy song.

  • just one of those hum-along songs you cant get out of your head - great nostalgia
