  • short guys have an easier bench because it is a shorter fulcrum between joints. More leverage equals higher weight hence body weight has nothing to do with bench press ability.

That's just something tall guys who get schooled by short guys use as an excuse. That guy whos 6'4 220 benching 8 reps of 225, while I can only do a mere 4 reps at 5'7 170.......

    how many 6'5 "average bodied" guys have you met, that can bench the exact same as a 5'8 guy with an "average body"......*the 6'5 guy has his muscle stretched along his long bones, thus giving him more mass then the short guy, although it does not appear that way to the untrained eye.
