Slayer, Testament and Metallica's selling point is that they "play fast," but playing fast doesn't mean shit if the pre-recording mantra is "GO NUTS." Slayer is especially bad because they just sound sloppy, while Testament and Metallica at least sound like they have progressed beyond the, "my mom says it's cool if we practice in the garage" phase of making a band.

And, now that I have exile up and playing, I can tell you don't have a very good ear. Sounds just as shitty and sloppy as any other Slayer song. The Outlaw Torn is also shit. Slow and steady doesn't mean anything if it doesn't sound good.

I wouldn't say Testament is underrated at all. More like heavy metal is underrated in general. Most metal heads think Testament is ownage....thats not being underrated. It's just that most non-metal heads don't even know who they are.  They've just been under-advertised, unlike some of their peers such as Metallica, Megadeth, or Slayer.

Testament was always in the "Big 4"!! IMO Anthrax or Exodus didn't even come close to the technical abillities of Testament. I remember when this came out and how fucking awesome it was. Definately a different sound because they tuned down the guitars and Alex was replaced with James. Fucking shit man! That was 16 years ago and i still love it as much as i did then. Also, I 100% agree with YoLplsBest. IMO Chuck B. has the greatest thrash metal voice ever. He belts that shit out too. A big guy!
