Simple question: Would Leon be an equal investor in the restaurant considering that he made a far less investment than the others? I understand that Roseanne. Jackie, Nancy & Leon probably all have equal shares in the business. I just always looked at the money aspect and never looked at Leon being there as much of a threat because Bev "kept lowering her price" from the original $10,000 (what everyone else has invested).
@midwestdandy Well because he said Bev kept lowering her price, I'd have to say the answer is "No". But she knew he and Roseanne couldn't stand one another, because one episode Roseanne told Dan that Nancy was one to him that she knew he didn't like her. And if Roseanne and Jackie and everyone else couldn't be honest with her, she should just sell her share and said Leon wanted to buy her out for months. Like he wanted control or something. If anyone had control, it should have been Jackie.
@midwestdandy Yeah he would still be an equal partner and it doesn't really matter what he paid. Bev could have sold it to him for a dollar and he'd still be an equal partner. Bev lost money on it but she did it on purpose to terrorize Roseanne and Jackie so that was payment enough :)
Lol. I love the hypocrisy of Roseanne accepting Jackie using Fred but if it was reversed she'd be pissed off. These 90s' shows were awful in terms of relationships b/c almost all of them depicted a power struggle within the relationship - no equality, no partnership.
Roseanne truly was the feminist of 80's-90's TV! What the hell ever happened to her? Men and women alike were intimidated by her(her own TV husband and real husbands as well) She was a tough cookie to work for yet knew herself. I think Roseanne "had the balls" she didn't to dangle feminitism like a carrot much the way Madonna did her sexuality!
(pt 2) However it's clear their really their for Roy's hi-tech equipment/entertainment! Roseanne finding out David's been staying in Chicago with Darlene at her dorm, Dan finding out, him going psycho, David staying at Jackie's and then Fred suing(and later dropping) custody of unborn Andy. the stores continued like a soap or miniseries(however a very hilarious and realistic one)
I loved this season! This was the last one I clearly enjoyed mostly beginning to end! I love at the beginning of '94 where Mark moves out to that bachelor friend of his and Dan and Roseanne keep coming back there to get him to come home to Becky(Pt.1)
@toxiccupcake666 Bev she was so creepy and yet incredibly annoying...and yet, I dug the old chick! There was even one ep where she's hanging out with Fred in Jackie's living room and she sheds the "Voice that could bend steel" talks real deep, and whips out a cigar!(Revealing it was her attention to drive the girls nuts all along! how incredibly funny!
@NoNeverAgain Love the ep(halloween '94) where Jackie and Rosie are at Bev's hair salon and Jackie finds the very same hairdo wig that Beve always has and Jackie puts it on and acts like Beverly(Oh Roseanne! You know women like you really shouldn't be wearing outfits that small and another thing dear I hate to alarm you but I think little DJ may be retarded!) Too funny!
@pounce4 I'm thinking that Roseanne had this written in the story to point out what her own real mum/grandma is like, or anyone else mother/grandmother. Because so many older people don't adapt to change easily and always looks down at everyone, they act like everything has to stay the same as what things had always been for them...and it isn't that way.
@PostRockIsAGenre Yes writing MM back into the show was absolutely brilliant! always loved the employer/employee @ bitchy banner back and forth between Leon and Roseanne. So getting him back into the series at the ender of 92-93(where he takes over as health inspector, and their right back into their old relations, it was like no time ever flew by at all!)
@PostRockIsAGenre Me too. I don't think I've ever laughed harder at a sitcom than the episode where Dan hits Roseanne in the mouth with the freezer door and when Leon first sees her he asks, "Something's different. Have you lost weight? No! You've lost teeth."
i didnt wnat it to get too serious

@midwestdandy It only depends on what portion of the company you own. If you own 25% and sell it for 1$, the new owner still owns 25%.
