I'm not being racist when i say this, but this music defines a black ghetto neighborhood in August. With graffiti, trash, orange fallen leaves and vandalism.
With a few basketball courts sprinkled in da 'hood. Cue gang fight.
@bumtaksi Hey man I love this kind of music for warming up and fighting too. It would be great entrance music. I sponsor fighters... email me if you want to see some gear.
@Axeltaru THANK YOU!!! The photography that goes with every song is so right. My favourites are for 5,10,12,15,16,17,18,19,21,22,24,25,27,28,31,34 and 36. I can't say it enough, the photo that goes with the song fits so well. You have to get the album to understand.
I see a drunk guy, getting out of a bar in a funny state, and walking down a dark street singing a happy song whilst grinning, then gets into an avenue and starts dancing on a lake, and there's this guy, dark and brooding, glaring at him like he wants to kill him, then the drunk dude gets out of the water and goes back home where he falls asleep...
I like this ghost a lot.. that piano they have at 0:20.. this song is creepy, but i like listening to it. It's cool how these songs can bring out pictures in your mind, its different for each person, without a single lyric.
ive been listening to Nine Inch Nails for a while and never heard any of these...i absolutly love them and have no idea why they hadnt crossed my path before now
THe great thing about the ghosts albums is that none of the songs are alike, and they are like no songs made before. Anybody could probably find a song on there that they liked, easily.
Anyone else hearing all the samples from Rayman 2: The Great Escape? I loved that game and it took me ages to realise where I had heard all these sounds before.
I think Ghosts was highly underrated. You can really hear a lot of creative sounds and personal input on trent's part, and the album stretches miles past many generic electronic instrumentals. While I like the denser tracks than the piano ones, the album has some awesome material. Fuck Yeah.
If it wasnt for youtube i wouldnt have the chance to listen to this right now..
Youtube is awesome and so is NIN
furthermore you can educate yourself about things on youtube ,, so its definately not making the world more stupid,,,,,kind of a drastic comment,,,,,let people comment what they want ,,, its a free country to some extent,, oh yeah,, great song too
i would actually like to slap just about everyone who has commented for any of the ghosts. they are here for your listening pleasures, not so idiotic children can go back and forth about RETARDED SHIT! youtube is making the world more and more stupid with each passing day.
@codysanford Uh that's kinda hypocritic, you just commented on the ghosts. Second youtube is a collection of educational material like a library. Do people become stupider by using libraries?
It may sound like it but it's just some sound treated with special effects, not a voice. Listen carefuly it doesn't sound like any word. There is a similar "voice" at the end and at 2:35. There is also voice like Trent's at 2:29.And to be really sure, I'd analize this song using equpiment that I don't have at home : ]
LOL to all the Ameritards thumbs downing dtc, @ the risk of sounding like a hypocrite, relax. Certainly it's not illogical to think nin would make a song about fucking. BTW If you're arguement is that your worried about having his comment taint your own creativity how about reading the comments AFTER you listen to the song since you are so totaly focused on your own interpretation. Which you obviously are NOT or else you would not be multi tasking when listening to this song for the first time.
lol...i used to date a girl with stanky weasel teets...and i agree...why should dtc get "thumbed-down" just for posting his take on the tune ?...thought that was the whole principle behind "ghosts" to begin with ?!?...ameritards , heh heh , good one !

This is the type of music that keeps me from studying in my 2 hour class gap at college. I just sit there staring off into space...

Trent Reznor is a composer, & this is definately his finest work. It's an experimentation of the possibility of noise that turned out beautifully.
