I once saw a video of Linus Torvalds (the founder of Linux) hacking a Kinect to use it for remote controlling an RC helicopter, and for opening and closing the curtains of his house. Microsoft made it, but they don't even know how to use it. A simple programmer took an OS the Kinect will never officially support, and made a lag-free motion sensor out of it.

The 360 will be looked at like the Phillips CDi in the future. Just a gimmick.

@Scourgeandmephiles93 Nintendo may manufacture weird stuff, but they try to be precise with that. They'd rather run low on specs or release outdated tech if it works flawlessly than try to do "camera tricks". They have learned the hard way many years ago that technology needs to be perfected before trying to merge it with videogames. As well as cheaper. One of the reasons the Wii U is not much better than the current ones is because the controller is expensive enough and they want to sell it.

Microsoft isn't faring much better with OSes. They're designing Windows 8 with touchscreens in mind with the traditional mouse and keyboard approach as an afterthough which is a bad move in my opinion. They're buying too much into passing fads and gimmicks. Time to finally switch to Linux I guess.
