  • "I never drank until I owned a Massey! The John Deere was light ages ahead!"

    That's because you had extra money for beer with a Massey Ferguson in the barn. With the John Deere, all your extra money went to parts and repair.

  • Ive gat a 165 and my uncle has a 135, such brilliant reliable little tractors. I am hoping to return my 165 to its formwer glory at some point.

    Thank You Massey Ferguson

  • Red Giants.. a truly marvellous range of tractors.. Launched in (UK) December 1964... and many still operate on farms throughout the UK today. I wonder how many 100 series models remain in daily use around the world today ?

    Well done MF... keep up the good work - and let's see lots more heritage promotion like this in the future please.

  • Please remember to drink responsibly.

  • I wasn't joking. I had a new 1975 model 1085--it lasted 500 hours--the differential went. I traded it on an 1105, the engine blew up. I traded that one on another new 1105--the tranny piled up. I got a new 4240--got 6600 hours plus, then I sold the farm. As for my my drinking--I've got 25 years in AA!

    Not all Masseys fault--but it didn't help.

  • @ThePrairiewind You actually bought the worst of the range. The 1080 was also a real dog. The 135, 165. 175 , 185 etc were really good tractors.

  • @Mackeson3 ;

    What about the MF 168 ?

  • @HARLEYBOY33 Actually we had a 168 , it was a damn good reliable tractor. I often had to go back to it while our brand new heap of crap IH 674 was back at the dealers been repaired! ( The 168 had loads more torque than the supposedly higher horsepower International too ).

  • @Mackeson3 ; Have a look at my short video taken yesterday and some last year baling with my 168 -

    A great tractor

    HARLEYBOY33 Enjoy.

  • PS: I also had an 8440 with 7200 Hrs.

  • @ThePrairiewind ;

    You are all mixed up,

    Give up the drink, sell the John Deere and buy a Massey Ferguson

  • @ThePrairiewind The funny thing is , during the days when the Massey 100 series were on the go, The neighbours used to call their Deere tractors "Dear Johns"
