  • Amazing!!

    Great work!!

  • Whoever is playing this is amazing...

  • 6:40 is like proto-Klepacki. :D

  • it's got to be zabonbon playing this, no one else can play like that!

  • @Immryr Emulator + Slowdown ;P

  • i call shananagans at 1:31!

    still amazing though.

  • That must be Chuck Norris piloting that shit! XD

  • @bad4ever2001 Chuck Norris got nothing on Optimus Prime :)

  • WTF!!!!!!!!!!!

  • man u should have a job like Snake

  • man ur a fucking beast lol

  • I wonder if the pilot dude was listening to this music in the spaceship. He probably had some sort of awesome soundsystem in the spaceship and a futuristic ipod. That would be badass. I always wondered about the pilot in this game actually. Was it the same pilot throughout all of the games? Did he make it home afterwards? I'VE GOT TO KNOW! D:

  • Track playing at 4:44 was always so fucking chill and awesome.

  • overpowered! xD

has anybody the link for the beginning theme of this game? 0:05 ?

  • @LookAndLaugh93 Its known as "R-9, to the front!" and that is literally the song, 19 seconds long. It's on youtube

  • I feel like I am watching in real time as the shmup genre gives birth to the bullet hell subgenre

  • dribbling

  • i guess the pilot did not like the alien dude at 1:33 does he ever kill anything else other then bosses? (god i've played this game to much to be able to notice that...)

  • Great flying, but it is torture watching all those objects fill the screen with no fighting back from the player.

I never played the game, but it looks fun. Wish the music was better, though that one track in the middle was OK.

  • impressive flying

  • My only excuse for hating this game is how badly it kicks my ass. Great music, cool levels...only I can't get to em!

  • 3.57 gave me an orgasm. It's been 17 years and I still can't beat hard WITH WEAPONS CHRIST! The guy playing is Ace Pro Best Ever.

  • This was one of the first games I ever played on the SNES and the music blew me away. I was so used to 8-bit bleeps and blips, this was a huge step up

ahh good old SNES slowdown. Later on programmers figured out how to get around it

  • 1:40 thats the greatest part of the music :)

  • Garudoh is the man for posting all those games, and whoever is playing this game kicks ass!!!!!

  • Is Super R-Type a remake of the original?

  • Super R-type is the mix of R-type 1-2 thats why there is only this and RT3 on SNES

  • That pilot has some skills. "nods head to banging music".

  • Comment removed

  • It looks like the monster is dancing to the music 8:30 and after... :)

  • LMFAO@YOU

  • Funky-Boom!!!!

  • Lovely jubliee R-Type! I need this for my SNES.

  • Dude, I still have this game on my SNES. :)

  • the level one music was the best - and bizarrely the only way to hear it all was through sound test - the level wasn't long enough to hear the best bit - the piano solo

  • Amazing that these are the same guys who licensed Deadly Towers! :3

Killer soundtrack, addictive gameplay. Thanks for the memories.

  • pro-life eh?

  • I get it LOL!!!

  • I was just listening to the music from this game earlier. Really good memories.

  • Sick music....average shooter :(...tho most all other r type games r amazing.

  • Wow whoever was playing is fucking good. I could only beat this game on novice. I wonder what happened to the company that made this game.

  • @CristianV88 In response to your question, IREM went bankrupt in 1995, and then they restructured themselves as IREM Software Engineering in 1997.

  • I too agree that hearing these musics in the sound test at the beginning was the easiest way to hear all the level music.

There was some brilliant song writers for these games!

  • Michael Jackson music at 6:40...

I love all these tracks in this game..it's music you can dance too or tap your feet to.

  • @happy7117 Hell yeah man. I love that track too!

  • Yah dose anyone have the "Game Over" Song it is the best next to the stage 1

  • What is the "Gamer Over"-theme called and where can i get the fullversion as mp3?

  • Whoever is playing this game kicks ass!!!!

  • I have never seen such maneuvering!

  • @wsmith412

Whoever this playing, do a Tool Assisted Run.

  • The jazz trumpet & piano part of "Solo Sortie" (Stage 1 music) is one of the best musical pieces I have heard in a video game let alone on the Super NES.

  • WOW.

This "Zabonbon" was in Pacifist Hippie Mode!

That takes a TON of skill!

Anyway, I was never any good at this game, but Super R-Type soundtrack rocked my world back in the day. Glad to see this here!

  • 3 stage is my fav song from game

  • Is this the Japanese version or something? The first stage has a different background than the one in the US SNES version. Any info would be great.

  • It's been so long since I played this one, but from what I see on the site where I got these from, both the Japanese and US titles use the same soundtrack. Maybe I picked some unused tracks or something.

  • @garudoh I live in Ireland and this is defenitly the tracks on that one, so that would be the European version. ( I know this because im obsessed with game soundtracks and have this on my computer)

  • @garudoh But i've just noticed that yes, it is a different backround.

  • @garudoh he meant the background,he didnt say anything about the music..............

  • @garudoh In the EU version we had this song as the first stage :)

  • @garudoh Is that you playing the game? I've beaten multiple times and I gotta say I'm really impressed with your gameplay. I would be lucky if I could get to level 4 and not die once.

  • Yes, the Japanese version has a different background.

  • @RyuHayabusa06 i have the PAL version,and it's like this

  • @RyuHayabusa06 sorry,wrong,it doesnt.

i thought u meant the music

  • I love the music to this game. The music keeps going and going too, with nice little arrangements that you will not hear playing through the game. For instance, the first stage music has some cool parts but the level is so short that you will not hear it unless you listen to it in the sound test.

  • ah yes these were the good o'le post-gulf-war games of the day (along with Pilot wings and Mario World). Thanks for posting this

  • I never really liked side scrollers like this, but the music is great.

  • I rented this game back in the day, I don't remember the music being this sweet... I must have sucked. I never heard this music.

  • I saw the thumbnail for this and I thought it was gradius! damn! foiled again! well... maybe I'll do a search and you'll have done it already :D
