Both @Oddsteven and @Blazindanks suck at guitar. It takes no more skill to play either -- the end. If you think it does then maybe you should practise some more.
@bubsadoozy How's your reading comprehension vis a vis your guitar playing? I said that it was nearly the same to play a six string as a 12 string, not identical, but nearly so. I'll presume that you are a competent player, but unless you've seen or heard me you should reserve judgement on whether or not I suck at it.
@oddsteven I didn't mean it too seriously. Obviously I have nothing to base that accusation on. I think any one who plays guitar half decently knows that there is no difference. Most people don't even know how to tell it apart in recordings. It's surprising how many players don't know Nashville Tuning is.
@bubsadoozy I think Nashville tuning actually is about the only way to make that sound good on an acoustic. . . I really don't care much for 12 string unless it's electrified, because I think the high strings interfere and make it too busy. It always ends up sounding thin to me acoustically.
@oddsteven- You don't play guitar, do you? I'm 21 and have been playing guitar since I was 13 years old and it's still difficult for me to pick up a 12 string and play it.
@blazindankss Actually I've been playing guitar since 1979, and it's no more difficult to play a 12 string than a 6 string. I guess it may be infinitesmaly harder to push down on two strings instead of one, but the difference is negligible to anyone who's experienced.
@oddsteven- Exactly, you've just proven my point. Playing a 12 string comes more natural to someone who has more experience in playing then it does to someone like me with only 8 years of experience. Don't get me wrong, I can play a 12 string, I love the way they sound but I perfer not to play it because I seem to have more mistakes/dead notes then I would if I played a 6 string.
Kris sure as Hell wasn't a good singer, but he sure as Hell could sing.
