I've loved the Blues Brothers from the first time I saw them on SNL. I've been on a mission to gather all the Blues Brothers music I can! Head over to Blues Brothers Central. We love the boys over there.

  • top!

  • YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEHAAAAAAAAAAAAAW!!!!!!!!

  • Hhanaaa...

  • It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark, and we're wearing sunglasses. Hit it.

  • Wrong picture.... this is actually from Blues Brothers 2000, sung by Dan Aykroyd and John Goodman, not John Belushi.

  • @madman401 The actual oringal singer was Stan Jones in 1948 and then other artists such as Burl Ives, Bing Crosby, Gene Autry, and Johnny Cash recorded it and became a Cowboy standard. Stan Jones was a Forest Ranger to firs write and sing the song. I know my oldies :-) A Good rendition also is the Burl Ives rendition

    BLUES BROTHERS!

  • you know its allways easy to make a song better than it is. but its hard to compose a song in the first place. so it doesnt matter how good this version is, the original allways stays the first and the one that should be remembered

  • this is the only version in my world...

    (outlaws version isn't so bad)

  • Children of Bodem did a nice cover too

  • yes, yes they did! it was hella badass

  • The original was lost in time and ,no one knows the the original but the ghost riders.

  • this version is much better than the original .......sounds better

  • @Evans153 Personal opinion. Still most people still prefer the Johnny Cash version.

  • @Evans153 I would like to hear the original, but it's hard to find old western songs from 1946 on youtube =/

  • @Zerashadow the original "Ghost Riders" was made by Johny Cash

  • @EPICENTERGAMEPLEX

No that's just the think, Johnny Cash just made a cover, but many Johnny Cash fans tend to not wanna admit that he didn't do the original, just check the song on wikipedia or what ever and you will see that it's from 1946, and Johnny Cash among others made a cover of it.

The Johnny Cash version is one of the best tho, no doubt about it.

  • @Evans153 well what did you expect it is the blues brothers

  • 'their brands are still on fire and their hooves are made of steel' you won't find better lyrics than that!

  • Yes you will.

  • I like this song cause of the cristin influence.

  • if your going to say it at least spell it properly

  • Sorry :(

  • this si fantastic song , andjohnny cash are the best.

  • Who plays the original version?

  • Johnny Cash if I'm not mistaken.

  • Really? Oh!

    I swore someone else did.

You hardly know who did the GOOD rock version of it? I cant find their name lol

  • Sorry, no idea 'bout that one.

  • @Untitleder Try Spiderbait or Toy Dolls for rock versions.

  • stan jones is the one who made the song

  • Johnny cash sings it slow , blues brothers sings it more like Happy Country not sad country, and cool ^_^

  • true, but its supposed to be badass not all happy and crap, i like spiderbait's version best
