  • DRINKING YOUR BRANDY

  • I was at this gig with two friends. 16 years ago, wow! PULP went enormous that year but luckily my friend had had the foresight to get tickets when the gig was announced and before "Common People" saw them go massive. One of the best gigs I ever went too - we spent the whole of it in the mosh pit and it was chaos but very very friendly. I think they played Wembley Arena a week or so later, so seeing them in this small venue was amazing!

  • Will i see him at MELT? oh yeah :)

  • @sophiaferrnandes If you haven't heard the Different Class album, that's a graet place to start the love for Jarvis. I have seen Jarvis twice in real life. Once at a gig, great gig, and once at a football match, Sheffield Wednesday vs Liverpool, I was stood 2ft away from him. When someone shouted 'Jarvis' and he waved, i realized who it was and totally froze. Then i stared at him, he dressed like a homeless person, ketchup stains down his clothes and was wearing a handbag! I was lost for words!

  • Jarvis you evil genius. Love you, if you were a bird, I would want to fuck you. I love your twisted mind.

  • ubercool!

  • this gig is amazing. I saw it a couple of months ago on tv, and was the first time I heard Pulp, that is one of my favourite bands now.

  • At 4:37, I think he actually dropped the mike during the La la la bit. You'll noticed it didn't show him catching the toss and then shows him again tapping the mike on his belly. Could be a fake joke of his. Good performance though.

  • 2 dislikes? Jarvis has been sleeping with 2 people's wives for the past 16 weeks, and they've recently come home to find him at it in their front room.

  • i nearly start hyperventalating when it goes all slow and quiet, and as it builds up and up, i just get more excited! up til "and shove it up your arse"

UTTERLY BRILLIANT, UTTERLY TWISTED....for all us giants. RESPECT

  • The best Pulp song ever. Very sexy esp the lyric 'I'll hold your body and make it sing again'. Love the momentum to this track.

  • A+! The most understated band if the 90's, But the best!!!!

  • Surely you mean the most underrated band, not understated!

  • I can't help it,

    I was dragged up.

My favourite parks are car parks,

grass is something you smoke and birds are something you shag.

So, take your year in Provence

and stick it up your arse.

  • wot more can you say......

  • How good was that :)

  • LOVE the song :) Jarvis is awesome

  • I have forgotten just how good these guys are/were. Friggn poms u are crap at sport but so far ahead of the world with music. After I finish listening to all of Pulps stuff, i'm off to find cure and carterusm to really relive my 90's memories.

  • That's 'cos it rains a lot.

We'd rather stay in and form a band then get wet standing in a field.

  • 'Lets sing again'. Brilliant track!

  • awesomeness

  • SEE you shud take me seriously... VERy seriously indeed... coz ive been sleeping with ure wife for the past 16weeks.... SMOKING URE CIGARETTES... DRINKING URE BRANDY!!!!

  • Yeah ok, because of Morrissey's meat is murder philosophy and the fact that he was a decade before Jarvis, he wins.

  • You catch on pretty quickly there lad!

  • this song is soooooo fucking sick!(good) !

  • Hmmm, Cocker v Morrissey, that's a tough question.

  • Not really, Morris is a vegetarian :/

  • My God I know of no greater lyricist or frontman.

  • Haven't you heard of Morrissey. Good as Cocker is, most of his spiel is straight off Mozza.

  • alex turner ;)

    sheffield music rules!!

  • "Because I've been sleeping with your wife for the past sixteen weeks"

  • good sound mate, good quality AAA++++ (ebay talk) lol

  • Amazing.

  • me meo en los pantalones :P

  • Thats such a brillant song. I skipped it for a coupe of years whenever I was listening to the album- I have no idea why. Thank god one day i decded to let the album play all the way through. Its now probably my faveorite track from Different Class. So menising. And his performance of it is just increadable. I love the fact that while Oasis and Blur were having this ridiculous public fight for kings of britpop, Pulp were in the background silently winning. They clearly define that era.

  • i've never seen a live video of pulp til now and i've been listening to em for years. I always imagined they'd sound terrible but this is impressive

  • Excellent, no other words.

  • God I need to take revenge lol!!!

  • Great!!! I love it..

  • Absolute class

  • the tallest spy in the world

  • JEJJEE CASI QUE NO HIJUEPUTAS!!!

  • Mi ranking es; 1)This is hardcore, 2)I Spy. Aguante River

  • Best song ever created by Pulp. It has everything!

  • this song is so glamorous. it's very sensual. i love it.

  • This is amazing. Just... wow. Ah, Jarv :)

  • the sleeping with wife part reminded me of THE SERVANT.

  • Bravo! Just Bravo! Man you are the God!

  • My dad played pulp when i was growing up... by the time I appreciated the album for the second time round they'd stopped touring. Gutted!

Love this song - just my favourite, ever. Also think JC looks darn good in this video:)

  • Love this song! Wish Pulp was still around!

  • <3 <3

  • I first heard this song in India when I purchased the Mission Impossible soundtrack for the equivalent of 75 cents. I loved the song then and I love it now. I even think it's better than Common People.

  • this song is truly underated and definetly in the top 10 songs of pulps careef

  • me too! what a gorgeous song. i remember ten years ago with my walkman laying in bed memorizing the lyrics.... god i miss pulp

  • everybody miss good music, everybody miss pulp

  • feel young again want a new tour please :)

  • My favorite PULP song! YES!

  • jarvis is joli laid, much better than the pretty boys, and he can write, and sing. Cracking tune, a bit miserable because it is a bit desperate to justify. Please be nice to him, he needs a cuddle!

  • your comment, is either ironic or you pretend that u dont understand the lyrics. it's your right as is my right to say that there is nothing desperate or miserable about the song, and he certainly doesn't need a hug. I suggest some theater therapy, try Pinter for example

  • eh? got the wrong end of the stick with me, there, malehawk. Neither irony nor misunderstanding. Just genuine. Love it, love him, he needs a cuddle because he is deserving of one. Not a saddo. But happy to see you defend - I applaud you! Except, I am not an anemy by any means. Jarvis, you are fantastic.

  • In this case am sorry for beeing so defensive, you see these times not only UK but the rest of the world needed some music with meaningfull lyrics...and i think we need it now too more than ever.

  • No worries - I know how it is. He is a one-off, not everyone gets it. I, too, am a misfit, but maybe I communicate badly!! My fault, not yours. Good to see someone defending something worth defending, so, no offence here! Peace!! Jarvis, Pulp, brilliant.

  • It's also my fault cause sometimes i have a short fuse, but i try immediately to combine it with humor, us tempered people are not really bad deep inside, we are just a bit more alive...

  • agree with the latter, malehawk. On the internet, it is easy to have short fuse. and you recovered well. Jarvis would be proud!! There are a lot of twisted people out there, sometimes you just go with the gut instinct. But, you are a decent human being, so, there is hope!

Nice meeting you, enjoy the rest. Youtube can be a bugger, you'll encounter many trolls, but, keep your humour intact, you will be OK!

    Peace!!

  • It's more a case of haves against haven'ts...and I just happen to have got what you need...

    Brilliant!

  • i think this may be my fav pulp song, but there is so many amazing songs to choose from. The first band i ever saw live on this tour, still one of the favourite gigs i have ever been to :-)x

  • My ex-girlfriend bought the VCD at a marked in China as a gift for me back in 98. Ohh yes, she was some girl! I remenber hearing only PULP in the car for a whole year just shuffling the 6 CDs. Those were the days.
