I am my own boss and I advise Real Pro's in real estate, who are their own boss! Obstacles in the form of excuses hinder progress. I may need to watch this every day and make it an assignment for my clients as well. @QuiteJaded said it perfectly, " if you don't take action, the perfect advice won't make any sense to you anyway!!"
This is great. This is basically all you need. First, there's no excuse to not get what you want. Second, you can find as much advice as you want, but you gotta take action. I know from first experience you can search and search until you find the perfect advice, it does not matter. If you don't take action, the perfect advice won't make any sense to you anyway!!
Love the video. It's kind of funny too. I agree though. There are so many people making excuses for themselves. What about all those kids that have started charities to help others? You know how hard it is for a Kid to start a charity that works?
Just want to say that I was at the BOSS event last year and it was fabulous. Great speakers, great break out sessions, great connections, much learning.
Granted, some people are gonna complain about anything, and I've met people like that, BUT ... lol.... (as Christians we can pray for them) and I guess with the others?? teach who wants to learn?? i don't know, seems like something could be done though... lol... no one's hopeless with Christ... right?! :)
I actually forgot that you had been a teacher, so I am glad even more that that makes sense. I think more teachers need to maybe work on that with our kiddos in schools. And, I know all this is from the Lord (as I know also, that you can appreciate), but I'm thankful He chose to use me as a vessel to share it.
Understand what you're saying, too, and maybe people would have all the 'buts' if people in general had more patience with each other. More to come...
Husband at home all day? Ack!! Say no more! And I love this part: "If you don't have a destination or a goal - how are you gonna know when you get there?" LOVE THAT!!
This wasn't all meant to you personally, but I've heard a lot of people say things like that, and actually never thought about the student/teacher (kids in school part) until just now, but to me it makes sense, and I just thought I'd bring it up here, since you encouraged us to post anything about it on youtube... :)
What does that kind of teaching do to or for the student? Well, to go along again with your video, it makes the learning process LONGER for that/those students. To me, it sounds like the person who doesn't have the patience, maybe needs to work on that, as well.
I believe just about anyone can do a business, on or offline, IF they WANT to.
Thanks for your time and for doing the video. I know you have a lot of great info.
@dreamsrock1 makes perfect sense! I'm NOT full of arrogance, but excuses make me crazy. However, as a former high school teacher and mom of a special needs child - I totally GET that we all learn differently. I have patience for learning styles, different goals and speed of implementation. But zero patience for 'but, but, but' - thanks for letting me clarify!
Having said that, you lost me at 'I don't have a lot of patience for excuses.' To me, though, when someone says, 'I don't have a lot of patience... whatever', that comes across as arrogance. I'm sure you yourself don't mean it like that, but it's kind of like a teacher who knows that each student learns differently, some maybe a lot differently, but believes she doesn't have to stop and take the time for those who need more or maybe different directives.
Don't ya just wonder why people are gonna pay (I'm assuming they paid to be there), then show themselves as totally uninterested, as you were saying the video... don't understand that!
I couldn't get it all on here, so another post to follow...
I love your "no excuses" attitude and it reminds me that I can do anything even when it seems hard. I watch you and you prove that we can all do it, regardless of the time constraints or excuses we use!! Great video!!!
I love this video. I rethink my obstacles and challenges. I have recently lost 65lbs. Now its my turn to help others lose that horrible excess weight. I'm going to meet Carrie in Oct at the BOSS event. I have been following her for years now and am so pumped to meet her!
@skinnyjeansceo way to go! I've lost 25 so far and still counting. Carrie is a true inspiration. I've just recently discovered her and would LUV to spend a few hours just chatting. Have a great time at BOSS.
Exactly what we all need to hear! We can all make excuses but where's that going to get us? Make the sacrifices now to reap the rewards later. Thanks for the reminder Carrie.
