... hating one's cultural history is of little value, but if one learns from one's mistakes, one may change the future for the better, if you deny your past, you can forget your history. To lump any people into one particular group, is to follow into the bigotry of racism, sexism, ageism, etc.. Through out the history of our country, from the 3/5 man of the constitution, to the classism of poverty of today, there have been those who have fought for the rights of those downtrodden.

OK - is public educ better or worse today than in 57? Remember schools were free to educate & didn't have to worry about being in compliance w/ Fed guidelines which costs all school districts lots of money in legal fees that could be going towards teacher salaries & improving infastructure of education.

All public schools are afraid of legal action so they have to hire & retain lawyers. They have to educate a bunch of lower class black kids who come to school to jive & bring down test scores.
