Literally it is but technically some advertisement you do have to pay to use officially. This is still a slap in the face to your fellow mashers who wanted to use stuff on their terms. Forcing the use of these beats, which most people are unfamiliar with which may lead to horrible mashes, you alienated your fellow mashers to be able to showcase their abilities. If your gonna advertise yourself in your own contests then atleast give the entrant the freedom to advertise themselves

Whether people are capable or not doesn't matter because I clearly said in one of my previous comments that it is cool if people use them. What I don't like is how it is being forced upon people. I would have entered if he just said "Use an outside beat". But no, we are forced to use his. The fact that we have to advertise his material and not being given the freedom sort of makes some of the fun of mashing gone.

However I just don't like how in order to compete we have to show off his own material. The idea used to be "Yes that mashed really well, he deserves to win" to "Oh hey this guy used dubstep so he wins" to "My own material or gtfo".

The point of winning these contests is to be recognized for your talents, but by using your beats you are pretty much advertising yourself through others mashups. I'm not hating on the beats because some are really nice and I don't mind when others use them because it proves those are awesome beats, but by forcing contestants to use them is just free advertisement. Not entering this one sorry.
