I don't know what the song is supposed to sound like, maybe it's just a bad song, but I hear a lot of pitch changes where they really don't sound right. Other people here provided more detailed breakdowns. Does the world have such a shortage of actually good opera singers that we need ones with noticeable problems?

My mother was a professional Opera Singer, and in all honesty, this is not bad. This audience is just silly! She's better than Paul Potts, and her technique isn't that Bad. And yes, for the majority of its history, opera has been for spoiled, rich people. In 1750, 92% of Europe's population lived in poverty. Operas were commissioned by monarchs and royalty and performed for the same.

The audience was horrible. Even worse than her singing (which wasn't hopeless).

I'm amazed that Paul Potts is considerd any better than this lady....they really don't have any idea do they? "Piano solo"? it's how the music is written, it's part of the aria - It wasn't horrific. Simon Cowell? The man's a musical idiot

@sarahhelsbyhughes You've got to be kidding. I agree that Simon Cowell's a musical oaf, but this woman was easily just as awful as Potts.

Some of her notes were off but her sound was beautiful!I feel so bad for her and the piano man was amazing as well! Look at thier sad faces, it put a pit in my stomach! They humiliated them when they deserve to hear atleast some compliments like, "your voice is good but some of your notes were off and amazing piano solo!" cause thats the truth! Jeez..the judges these days are terrible and doesent know what they're doing!
