Defenders lead with their head ALL THE TIME. The game moves at a fast pace. I seriously doubt that he was trying to go helmet to helmet. If he would have gone head first and just hit him in the shoulder pads no one would care. It was a hard and dangerous hit......not dirty.

@aceylone777 sorry but i don't think he's the idiot... if you lead with your shoulder you could dislocate your shoulder very easily and tear tendons in your neck.... now hitting with your head could also hurt you but if you don't put your head completely down you have a less chance of hurting yourself.... and the hit WAS clean it wasn't after the play or anything... anybody can get earholed it happens and there's nothing you can do.

this hit was perfectly legal by ncaa rules when the hit was made
thankfully the good result of this hit was a) reggie brown still went on to a pro career, and b) the ncaa changed the rules the following year to avoid these hits
but this is still one of the hardest hits i've ever seen in college football, dirty or not. gotdamn. i've never seen anyone go to the ground so completely limp
