  • thanks that meant something to me, added to the day. He is among the people who I wish could of hung around a while longer. I'd of partaken of what they offered with thanks.

  • Go Ken !!!!

  • i look up to this man (Kesey )

  • Thanks for this video. Great words from Kesey.

  • I was there. Ken was crazy in a harmless kind of way and, since it was probably his own invention, may have been, and will always be, the only one who really knew what "The acid test" really is, was or was supposed to mean. He also was not a musician so his opinion on music was mostly meaningless. My step Father was one of the beat Poets and I could never make any sense out what he was saying or any other of the speakers. It just sounded like jiberish to me and still does.

  • @jcregg1 Who was your step Father? I'm curious, I have met many people including Ken a few times.

  • @Salmonpat also interested

  • @jcregg1 Why do you think a person's opinion on music is not meaningful if that person is not a musician?

  • @jcregg1 "Stepfather." "Gibberish." Your opinion on poetry is similarly in question.

  • anyone else see the coins falling of the table lol

  • Ken Kesey is awesome! I love psychedelics!!! The king walks!!!

  • very deep in the pudding

  • anybody have any idea on what year it was he did this interview?

  • @EasT4CoasT2MamA0 was this featured on the closing of winterland?

  • @EasT4CoasT2MamA0 between 1995 and the release of tye dyed (1997)?

  • can someone plase explain to me what the acid test really were?

  • Ken radiated a power, a strong power and a gentleness at the same time. He could be magic , he could be solid, always seemed real to me, spoke Truth in many ways and forms, easy to miss, easy to see - a great spirit - man

  • How did Kesey assess sanity and insanity in American society when writing One Flew Over The Cuckoos Nest?

  • @ivystorm94 When Kessey wrote KooKoo's Nest he was working 3rd shift at a mental institution. He just simply add himself as a character.

  • @Salmonpat that and he was on peyote for the first few chapters

  • @ivystorm94 the wisest man is deemed insane, alot of us are, but we improvise with our mouths, something that society looks at and says "hide the kids" when they never saw us to begin with......too easy to write off, but smarter than you're average jerry bear. we know how, it's organizing that is going to take the most thought. "we aren't the best at what we do, weir the only ones who do what we do......"

  • Comment removed

  • 4:02 apparently he is right handed

  • why is he putting so much emphasis on the H?

  • dude was a head of his time. amazing commentary on still relevant topics, today

  • does he still do acid?

  • @airsoftsamtheman He is no longer in this world... he is in some other very strange world now... hanging with Jerry.

  • Great Video...Love it!

  • It's awesome you keep this!!!! Do you have a HD one??? Could you upload???

I'm making an article of Ken Kesey... I would be really grateful!!

  • Read the 'Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test' by Tom Wolfe.

  • thanks so much for the video. the man was a seer, an oracle.i pray for another ken kesey.

  • @fleabags1971 Im sorry but there will never be another Ken Kesey anymore than there will be a 1967. But I agree with you....lets imitate him.

  • Hey man Im 19 and I feel the same everyone is in this level of pure ignorence which I can see and it kills me that that's how this world is gunna turn out so much hate it's terriable

  • Why is it so hard to find others who think this way when you're over 25???

Im lonely in this Brave New World.

    Ben Grasby

  • hopefully in another time with different people and experiences somehting like all of this will happen again

  • :) dead = warriors

  • Crunchy

  • This might seem random, but in case anyone was wondering, the bird calling at 1:50 is a Western Scrub Jay, one of the most intelligent of bird species and the only non-primate known to plan for the future. Life is beautiful and a'happening all around!

  • I'm reading the acid test right now and live on woodside road in redwood city. Which is hwy 84. I ride my motorcycle in la Honda almost every weekend. Had to actually hear this man talk. Thanks for posting

  • One of my favorite books is a Non-fiction story by Thomas Wolfe called "The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test*" a great read.

  • @dragancer nvm

  • I Enjoyed, One Flew Over The Cukoos Nest, Very Much.

  • Read Tom Wolfe's book "The Electric Kool-aid Acid Test" Yes Ken we just know its right then and now!

  • It was asked if Kesey was a better person for taking LSD... I know I am a better person as a consequence of Kesey indulging.

  • Was Ken a better person for taking LSD? Do any of us improve ourselves by taking drugs? Wake up Ken, Neal, Tim, you don't need acid, the NOW is right here and ready, and you can reach it right away. Gary Snyder and Alan Ginsberg said so.

  • And Richard Alpert. . . ;)

  • Its a personal thing...

  • @achtsieben87 Ginsberg was into acid. I assume Snyder has done it, but I really don't know.

  • @Marxinator I'm almost positive I remember Snyder referencing LSD and peyote use in some of his poems. I think these substances had the most positive effects on those who were already sufficiently mature in their artistic and living abilities.

  • An amazing human being.

  • great vid thanks for the post

  • I love One Flew Over The Koocoos nest, my favorite book, love Ken Kesey and all he stands up for.

  • very nice-thank you!!

  • Simon from Caly (synchronicity stories) Mr. Kesey's book Sailor Song, gives a great prediction of a high probabiliaty future. His book Sometimes a Great Notion, pulled of some crazy bizarre coincidences. The man was is was is a literary god.
