  • Great knockout by a great fighter in Jeff Smith. Marc Costello

  • I trained with Jeff Smith at a seminar (Va Karate Club) Richmond Va-He is truly a pioneer , not to mention one of the baddest in the world!- You were just happy to survive-and get out of the ring alive!

  • In those days, pioneer fighters and champions fought whoever available to them. They had to start from somewhere-else and they did it well. That is why full-contact kickboxing is praciced in many different countries today.

  • [full-contact kickboxing is praciced in many different countries today]

    Is there semi contact.?

  • a world championship is a championship

fighters from other countries are invited to participate

  • I trained under Jeff's trainer Jim Ed Jones at the Olympia boxing center in Falls Church, Va.. Jim said that Jeff was the best street fighter he ever saw. These guys were bad motherfuckas. Jim Jones is in prison now for shooting his neighbor. Dispute over leafs in the yard. lol

  • goagaogkasopg, it's easy to run your mouth from behind a keyboard and 35 years in the future looking at the beginnings of a sport. But that all you have isn't it. Your imaginings.

  • In the 1970's Grand Master Jhoon Rhee started full contact karate, trained & mentored 6 world champions. Jeff Smith was first generation full contact martial artist and one of the first to fight in 3 realms. Full contact, semi full contact and points. I have had my behind beaten up by this man more times than I can count. I was sent home black and blue by him, Michael Coles world welter weight champion and Wayne Van Buren. Jeff is the reason I won first place in Bruce Lee's Birthday tournament.

  • i graduated from jeff smith's school as a black belt. hes a super cool guy to meet, he has so much to teach you in the way of tae-kwon-do/life in general, really chill dude to talk to.

  • Haha, he was a 7 time world champion, I think hes technique worked

  • Yeah, because Thai boxers are the best kickers in the world. Obviously.

Oh wait. What about the fact more Thai boxers have been knocked out by non-Thai fighters than the other way round? Oh yeah.

  • Like most westerners you seem not to be able to tell the difference between thais and japanese. Westerners are the ones getting knockout unless your name is Rob Kaman(who wins in Thailand only because of his size advantage) or Ramon Dekkers. Don't let K1 fool you into thinking that muay thai is whitemans sport. Thai's are still No.1. Smaller japanese getting ko'd by bigger europeans doesn't prove that much.

  • non-Thai fighters = practitioners from other disciplines.

  • Im a taekwondoe brown belt at his school... I actually know him pretty well, stayed at his school for about 2 years and a half. He's a great person!

  • i have met the legend that is Jeff Smith.

  • lol me too.
