Czech Republic got really unlucky in this tournament... Baros was injured and then Kollar got injured in this game so they had to play some 3rd string forward who wasn't good and it ended up with Nedved, Poborski and Rosickey just running around with no target. At this point in 2006 the Czech Republic was ranked 2nd, USA was ranked 5th and Italy, although ranked 13th, were all in the same group. The highest ranked USA and Czech Republic did not even make it out of the group and Italy went on to eventually win the cup. This was the real "group of death". I think the USA was vastly overrated but they should have made it out of the group stage. Hopefully we will not be pinned against 2 top tier teams in the group stages in South Africa...

Well.....it looks like Rosicky.... It's pronounced Ro-ZITZ-ky ,right? Im not totally sure cause ive heard it pronounced so many ways. He's a kick-ass player either way. USA will do better in the next world cup though.

Czech Republic got really unlucky in this tournament... Baros was injured and then Kollar got injured in this game so they had to play some 3rd string forward who wasn't good and it ended up with Nedved, Poborski and Rosickey just running around with no target. Dissapointing. This game showed their true ability.

ye, its hard but in times when teams like italy or greece win tournaments, everything can be.
Czechoslovakia teams played WC and Euro final matches in past (we think here that we have one moral victory:)) so why not in future. We only have to clone Nedved, Sionko, Čech, Jankulowski etc... lol

I live in America. Im an American citizen. I think that this country is pretty awesome. But boy was I laughing when the Czechs kicked the crap outta the Americans. Im proud to say that. And I hope they do it again and teach the Americans that soccer (real name "football") is not for them. Lets all stick to our couches and recliners and be the country with the highest crime rate. Allow the world to have their game. We sure as hell cant match wits thats for damn sure.

America will not be in the upper echalanche regardless. They just dont sharpen their metal against quality teams consistently. Mexico, Canada, Poland recently and insert any Central American country are not going to do it. They will be cellar dwellers continuing like this. And you know what? Im lovin it!! I think that AMerican football needs a ballsy, tough yet sensible training program for children and youth. Start young and instill love, pride and mental preparation. Americans seem to have this inferiority complex playing against top notch teams. If they dont slay that dragon American football is kaput and/or destined for mediocrity.

The poor guy is clearly in over his head from the start, when he calls the Czech player "Ro-sickie" rather than the correct "Ro-zits-ski". You'd only know that if you followed European football, but he should have done his homework.

At this point in 2006 the Czech Republic was ranked 2nd, USA was ranked 5th and Italy, although ranked 13th, were all in the same group. The highest ranked USA and Czech Republic did not even make it out of the group and Italy went on to eventually win the cup. This was the real "group of death". I think the USA was vastly overrated but they should have made it out of the group stage. Hopefully we will not be pinned against 2 top tier teams in the group stages in South Africa...
