    ZOMG

  • What a Rockn'Roll legend! Of all the names that embrace that golden age of pop,

his stands alone for me. I last heard that he had suffered bad misfortune when

Hurricane Katrina made her unwanted call on New Orleans but that everyone

rallied round to help. I have a "tribute" CD that came out of that...great! But

you can't beat the originals - the man and his memorable music. I grew into

my teenage years listening to so much good stuff but he is number one for me.

    Top video!

"Fats Domino nearly perished in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. The legendary lifelong resident of the Lower 9th Ward stayed in his home and had to be lifted out by a Coast Guard helicopter....

Alive and Kickin' is the name of Domino's new CD. He's donating the proceeds from sales to the Tipitina's Foundation, which is dedicated to preserving and restoring the musical culture of New Orleans."

  • ahhh Fats there ain't NOBODY LIKE YOU

  • I first heard fats domino when i was sixteen, I had never heard this type of music before. I found an LP ,vinyl . in a flat i lived in ,The year was 1966 ! Was taken aback. Have loved it ever since and realized back then that there was more than pop out there.Led a sheltered life back then.

  • I LOVE FATS!!! hE'S A BIG INFLUENCE IN WORK! I'M A UPCOMING 1930 ACOUSTIC BLUES ARTIST FROM MISSISSIPPI IN NEED OF SUBSCRIBERS! • Thank you grandmasterflash

anybody know the name of this dvd concert ?

    Thanks

  • He just has so much charisma it's unbelievable!

  • Fats the Dominator

  • I owe my dad a debt for putting me onto this guy when I was in my yoof. I could so easily wrecked my mind on Metalica and all that crap.

  • @Stealthbong I really like this guy too, but I also love metallica. What's wrong with that? My mind isn't wrecked.

  • @scarlettsnowe I am just not a great fan of modern metal. I wouldn't take stuff you read on YouTube too seriously, especially anything written by me. If you're cool with Metallica, more power to you. If the truth be known, I did wreck my head in my yoof, but Led Zep, Deep Purple and assorted others were to blame. And the recreational drugs.

  • Oh opa

  • Long Live the music of Fats Domino! A great talent.

  • This is the man I grew up listening to. Age has only added to his charm.

  • 38 people are probably listening to radio-brand gangsta rap right now.

  • @Covergirlstarify That's really cool

  • 37 people need to clean their ears

  • I have this man on vinyl. Love his style. And I'm just seventeen. Much better then what I hear nowadays,

  • @dsmaster92

True. I'm 15 and for me this is the best music ever.

  • @dsmaster92

Great performer, I have a 78 of this recording and I'm only 67

  • @dsmaster92

I was tempted to post that 41 people liked Justin Bieber over Fats, but nah......it's their loss. Long live Fats!

  • @dsmaster92 Aint that the truth...

  • @dsmaster92 im only 20 and i totally agree!! thanks to my dad i grew up listening to music like Fats Domino, Little Richard, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Elvis Presley. :)

  • This one is for my cousin Carolyn. In memory of her Dad and my one and only Godfather John Board. Boy he would have given Fatsw a run for his money. xx

  • wow, over a million views. goes to show that true rock n' roll might survive after all.

  • @thehivpositiveshow It has survived decades already...

  • Fats wil always be one of the greatest, his music is timeless, his ease into amazing...

  • great deep black voice

  • i just thought, how pleasant to see a black man back then at the stage, i mean, black people was having a lot of trouble in those years bekoz of their skin colour, its really beautifull when everyone has the right for doing what they wanna do, no matter what religion theyre or which skin colour they have, just anyone (btw im white), it might be that im wrong but my english is not the best =)

  • Yeah, I know, looser, but I love this song. I knew an older couple that loved this song because it was their wedding song. I think they are both gone by now but they were so much fun and I think about them alot. So here it is.

  • Just watch how he reaches everybody. You can't deny his pull

  • Brings back so many memories of the Juke Boxes in the 60's in and around the City of Bath, fantastic

  • Thanks for the post.

  • When Elvis Presley first started people where saying it's the music of the devil and that it would ruin society and make criminals of their children. I guess you were raised by one of these god fearing people. Blaming music for the problems of society is pathetic.

  • Ouais... C'est vraiment du bonheur d'écouter ça. Une chanson tellement connue ! Ouahh, merci !

  • The Playback Singers have a gig tomorrow. And this is on the list. Great song.

  • I hereby name you Fats Domination!!!

  • I lived in New Orleans for 34 years until after Katrina. This song captures what it and its people used to be. It means so much to me.

  • I said it before and I will say it again... his smile makes me so happy! No problem is insurmountable if you just watch his smile at the beginning of this video.

  • Ez még ma is nagy szám!

  • i wonder i love chuck berry n jerry lee but this is waaaaaaaay slower...isnt it more blues than rnr? just askin...

  • @hailemmy This song was originally released in 1940 by the singing cowboy.....Gene Autry....it was a country song.....Fats turned it into his own.........that may explain the slow tempo.....it is a country song originally

  • one of the greats!

  • This sound can take me back 50 years. All the way to Ireland. What wonderful memories. What a wonderful time.

  • Father of Rock N Roll. Even Elvis liked this song and was part of his very first personal collection.

  • Fats is my "king of rock." His music is so timeless and never gets old. I love the blueseyness and simplicity of his songs. It's pretty cool being one of the few college students who's able to say that his favorite musician is Fats Domino ^_^ I'd LOVE to go see Fats in concert!!

  • klasse song

  • Ooooh yeeeah!! Ain't nothing like a smoke and a dose of the Fatster!!!

  • Good use of triplets.........
