The Tea Party simply represents the last gasps of bigotry, blind patriotism, religious nutcases. I've met some tea partiers and talked to them. They are very much on the lower end of the spectrum when it comes to intelligence, compassion, tolerance, integrity. Not all of them are that bad but the average for a tea partier is very low. I suspect they will reject even Ron Paul as he is far too advanced a human being for them to really ever jive with. Paul is honest.

In 2005 I got into the Minutemen and SaveOurState orgs. Turnout was very low compared to the registered Republicans. We tried to motivate folks to come to rallies, marches, meetings, city councils, etc., but few came or stayed in it. What I see in TEA-Party are those voters that weren't angry enough at government to leave home and participate. Things changed in 2008, and grew in 2009, but few TEA Party are motivated to street rally, march, or attend Minuteman events.

@joe035 The way I look at it, power exists in the world and there are those that have it. Now, those who possess the largest quantity of power are either government (obviously) or corporations. You're right about the government being prone to tyranny, which is why we have a democracy (and why you have a codified constitution), to curb governmental tyranny. On the other hand, if corporations take that role, they exist to make a profit... through any means necessary.

@joe035 Also, this is what happens in the UK, we always get taxed for HC from our wage, but we also have the option to take out insurance. Guess what - it means that the cost of private insurance goes down in the long term, next to nothing because it has to compete with universal healthcare and it's better run. But that's the point, facing the problem is going to sting, but later on it brings stability, improves the economy, environment, more people working, less crime, and HC is guarunteed.
@gonzoman1001 FDR created the New Deal in the 1930's to get us out of the Great Dpression. He created a lot of Social Programs to provide for people & create government jobs. He built some much needed infrastructure but the end result was we were still at 14% unemployment at the very end of his presidency. The war in Europe & need for arms & American innovation is what ended the depression not social programs smothering the private sector with more burden.

Government Regulation on Insurance Companies has made it so only the most successful can survive, Hence we have very few insurance companies, Which means the prices are really high, So mabye if we just stopped treating the insurance companies like crap and stop overegulating them, Then more of them can step up and we could have some more competition.

What is the real story behind the womans death? Was she not in a hospital and receiving care. A hospital cannot refuse treatment. She was in a hospital and receiving care, what would healthcare have done for her. Its not like she was out on the street or kicked out of the hospital. If she was then we already have laws against that that must not have been enforced.

Thus she could not afford to see a doctor to treat a cold like she normally would (even if he got a job w/ insurance, she would not be covered due to pre-existing condition..BEING PREGNANT!) She was forced to take a chance and treat it on her own. It failed. She ended up in ICU for 55 days. It cost tax payers $1.5 million. That's what failed.

They are very much on the lower end of the spectrum when it comes to intelligence, compassion, tolerance, integrity. Not all of them are that bad but the average for a tea partier is very low. In 2005 I got into the Minutemen and SaveOurState orgs. Turnout was very low compared to the registered Republicans. We tried to motivate folks to come to rallies, marches, meetings, city councils, etc., but few came or stayed in it. What I see in TEA-Party are those voters that weren't angry enough at government to leave home and participate. Things changed in 2008, and grew in 2009, but few TEA Party are motivated to street rally, march, or attend Minuteman events.

You're right about the government being prone to tyranny, which is why we have a democracy (and why you have a codified constitution), to curb governmental tyranny. Guess what - it means that the cost of private insurance goes down in the long term, next to nothing because it has to compete with universal healthcare and it's better run. But that's the point, facing the problem is going to sting, but later on it brings stability, improves the economy, environment, more people working, less crime, and HC is guarunteed.

He built some much needed infrastructure but the end result was we were still at 14% unemployment at the very end of his presidency. The war in Europe & need for arms & American innovation is what ended the depression not social programs smothering the private sector with more burden.

Or just Google it, for pete's sake. There are articles everywhere: Google "company insusrance now being taxed as income" and you'll see that it's not true. Your insurance went up because of the for-profit insurance cartel, eager to wring every dollar out of us while at the same time paying for poorer care.

Government Regulation on Insurance Companies has made it so only the most successful can survive, Hence we have very few insurance companies, Which means the prices are really high, So mabye if we just stopped treating the insurance companies like crap and stop overegulating them, Then more of them can step up and we could have some more competition.

What is the real story behind the womans death? Was she not in a hospital and receiving care. A hospital cannot refuse treatment. She was in a hospital and receiving care, what would healthcare have done for her. Its not like she was out on the street or kicked out of the hospital. If she was then we already have laws against that that must not have been enforced.

@motionvision - ok, I'll type real slow. she did not have health insurance because like millions of others, her husband lost his job. Thus she could not afford to see a doctor to treat a cold like she normally would (even if he got a job w/ insurance, she would not be covered due to pre-existing condition..BEING PREGNANT!) She was forced to take a chance and treat it on her own. It failed. She ended up in ICU for 55 days. It cost tax payers $1.5 million. That's what failed.

TEA Partiers just don't lay down when were subjected to this level of bullshit. Tea partiers don't debate, they recite talking points (bad ones), and shift the conversation to "restoring" America, like you did. America's system works just like it should. They've compromised with Republicans and watered down all those proposals. That pisses ME off. If I'm pissed at Democrats because the bill doesn't do enough, how can you sit there and tell me how outrageous health care reform is? @NickyAmerica The debt has been increasing. Where were you guys when Bush cut taxes by $1.3 trillion without also cutting $1.3 trillion in spending? Did you protest the Iraq war? That has cost $750 billion dollars, for nothing. How about subsidizing drug companies through Medicare part D? Maybe you could look into the pre-Obama history of deficit spending by typing "federal debt presidents" in a google search. See which party has a better track record of containing debt.

First off, Alot of people liked the tax cuts, Secondly, Saddam Hussein was PLANNING on making weapons, He tried to get a guy to build a giant artillery cannon to strike Isreal, He probably still had the chemicals from when he attacked the Kurds, He expelled UN inspectors and our spies had been captured or they couldent operate in the country anymore, So we went into Iraq.
