The impression I got from Shakira's version was not at all favorable. What she showed in that version was a bunch of sappy insincerity and shallow un-genuineness.

Chrissy sings this song as if she will hold your hand and give you a deep hug for warm comfort when you are shaky and teary-eyed. That's about this song. In Shakira's version, I didn't feel any of that hospitality and understanding manner.
