Under the new Tory led Health & Social Care Bill, the NHS will be FRAGMENTED and 49% of hospital care will be PRIVATISED. This will make waiting lists even LONGER!
Once we let private companies into our £100 billion health service, we will never get them out.

"No society can legitimately call itself civilised if a sick person is denied medical aid because of lack of means" Aneurin Bevan - Founder of Britain's National Health Service, free at the point of care since 1946.
David Cameron and his cabinet of millionaires don't have a clue. They pretend they care but all they really care about is making the rich richer and the poor poorer. And that's coming from a 12 year old.
clearly not read the bill have you, the Health and Social Care Bill doesn't provide a US system it ensures an NHS free at the point of delivery. it enshrines closing health inequality. It cuts pen pushers & adds 40,000 nurses and 13,000 doctors. It also does allow the NHS to pay for private healthcare if that is best for the patient. Billions extra for patient care, thousands of extra Doctors & Nurses - try reading the bill then start mouthing off
@GeeGee3374 - Read the Bill? Why would anyone want to do anything as moronic or time-consuming as that !? How naive (or manipulative) can you be? Reading the Bill merely gives players of this little game of charades facts which they can bandy about our fling at each other for posturing. No Bill that goes through Parliament contains a single scrap of info re the authors' political ideologies or true [unstated] intent. It's what's in between the lines that matters. Do you get it yet?
No government will ever admit to privatising your NHS because it would be political suicide.
But that's EXACTLY what these plans are aimed at.
They will increasingly weaken the state and increasingly force the handover to private forces.
America has private healthcare. They spend 16% of GDP on health compared to the British 8.4%. They have a HIGHER infant mortality. They have a LOWER life expectancy. About 50 MILLION people can't get health insurance.
Great Britain is famous for his good public health care! If these greedy bastards suceed in Britain, they will soon start to try the same in the rest of Europe. Keep fighting!
@GJROTLF Perhaps you are using a definition of corruption that doesn't reflect the what the actual law states, or maybe your evidence is unsound. Those seem more likely than conspiracy theories. Incidentally, if you do things like put question marks at the end of questions, then people might take you more seriously if you ever do happen upon some genuine evidence of criminality.
Funny, but somewhat diminished by ad hominem. I'm not convinced by this bill either but whether he is wrong or not, Lansley genuinely believes it will greatly improve the NHS for patients.
I am not a big fan of rap,but this is great. To have this genre of music used to protest against the tory/lib dem distruction of the NHS is fantastic. Lets have more rap protesting against capitalism.
This man should not be overseeing the NHS he is tied to fast food companies and bankrolled by private healthcare corporations. The NHS is never safe in Tory hands, GET THE TORIES OUT NOW!!!!
@foxmenesus The NHS was devised under a Tory led government, not Labour. And fast forward to this present day, Labour were planning more cuts to the NHS that the Tories. In addition to which, if the left didn't destroy the economy every time they were in power, there wouldn't be any funding crisis.
@TmplKnght Strange I seem to recall a massive financial crisis caused by irresponsible behaviour by the private sector including assuming massive liabilites without any semblance of assets and destroying their workers pension schemes. But no, your'e right it must have been the children with special needs and old people.
And the NHS was established in 1948 under Labour while the Beveridge report was written by a civil servant under the wartime coalition.
@agrigoat You are right about the trigger for the financial crisis, which was caused by the kind of corporatism supported by social democrats. Banks should not be supported by politicians or government, they should have been allowed to fail and more importantly, the bankers should have been made well aware of this in advance. You seem to have forgotten the massive overspending though which caused our debt crisis. Almost entirely caused by vote buying.
@TmplKnght You are preaching logic to a crowd of ignorant slaves. It doesn't matter how right you are, if people don't want to listen and learn you're just wasting your energy, imo. It's not like you're even able to get an educated back & forth debate going with them. The sad truth is people prefer indulging in the false left vs right paradigm like the little sheeple they are.
This Wednesday(22nd), MPs will vote on whether to demand the publication of a secret government report into the risks facing the NHS.
Andrew Lansley wants MPs and Lords to back his plans for the NHS. But he's refusing to let them find out the risks. If we work together to put our MPs under pressure, there's a decent chance they'll refuse to do Lansley's dirty work for him.
This vote could go either way. Your email to your MP is most important.
@asubjectiveopinion Labour said they were perfectly relaxed about people becoming filthy rich. And Labour introduced PFI into the NHS which has seen hospitals charged £300 to have a lightbulb changed. Tories are shit but if you think Labour are good, you're on crack.
yes, that's all true, the last Labour government were neo-liberal Thatcherite arseholes and Miliband is a completely unelectable wanker who talks through his nose, but the fact remains that the Tories are evil callous cunts and that's a fact.
The Tories are the very worst people that our country has to offer and should all be publicly murdered along with their families and pets to insure that they are wiped from history forever.
@asubjectiveopinion You're a wonderful advert for the support base of your ideological position. I think anyone reading this who's on the fence might be able to get a sense through juxtaposition, the UK version of the Left/Right divide. Keep up the good work.
@asubjectiveopinion "And pets"!!!? Now really, while I may agree with the sentiments of your post, that is rather excessive. What exactly have their pets done?
@DontStopJaime - You're* So, now the public provision of healthcare is a race? Amazing. At a society meeting last week I voted no confidence in the bill, as did a majority of Tories... but of course, we're all cunts apparently.
The vote will take place on Wednesday afternoon. That means we've got just over 48 hours to convince enough MPs to vote to publish the secret report. The more of us that email our MPs right now, the more likely we are to succeed.
38 Degrees members, doctors, nurses and academics have all been warning for ages that Lansley's plans put our health service at risk.
I will never understand why so many poor working class and middle class people support the conservatives. A party based on keeping wealth in the hands of the wealthy clearly will make decisions that do this and don't encourage a more even distribution of money and power. How is competition in the NHS going to make any money for anyone other than the private care providers.
@videocurcuits For competition to work in a capitalist system the customer has to have the power but as the NHS is free at the pint of use (as it should be) this is not the case, councils and now doctors who have to make decisions on who will provide care are going to chose the private companies who use unskilled cheap workers as this looks fine on paper and the patients don't get a say. Most of the problems it will cause will only show up in death rates and reduced service costs.Fuck Lansley

So much time for you. Back when you released this most of "educated" Britain (including me - note I call MYSELF educated) hadn't heard of Andrew Lansley! And the Care UK line, lol!
Now we need Cameron to answer to this. We can't let him get away with selling 49% of the NHS to private companies. Google '38degrees' and educate those around you. Cameron can kiss my ass!
@PJPK1111 201 people are stupid enough to think their Boopa medical insurance will cover them when they get ill - dream on thickos - the major reason for bankruptcy in the USA is unpaid medical bills and most of those people HAVE medical insurance.
The Royal College of Nursing (RCN) and the Royal College of Midwives (RCM) have called for the NHS Bill to be scrapped.
It follows a move by the British Medical Association (BMA) in December to also fully oppose the Health and Social Care Bill, currently going through Parliament
@TmplKnght Most of the doctors, nurses, associated professionals, adminstrative and non-clinical staff and many NHS managers also become opposed to Tory plans. And the majority of the population. And most of the Royal Colleges of Medicine including the RCGP and most GPs!. In fact pretty much everyone apart from 57 Vichy GPs
"Independent analysts have calculated that implementing the provisions in the Bill will cost the NHS an extra £2 billion to £3 billion on top of the £20 billion in efficiency savings the NHS has to find in the next four years".(Independent 19/1/12)
excellent rap...NxtGen gives us hope that young people can be political and stand up for the cuts by this government...come the revolution we need the voice of youth behind us..props to you NxtGen
@PJPK1111 - Perhaps that's because the state keeps people poor. It's not as if healthcare or insurance can be "free." - I am not arguing that the state has any right to sell the services - but we should raise the question of who has the right to control [any] services.
thank god our young people won't let the country go any further to the dogs. They'll maybe have to pout a lot right from the legacy of the generation above them..
Should probably listen to some real rap then like Akala/Lowkey/Globalfaction, Cyrus Malachi, Taskforce, Immortal Technique etc. Hiphop, especially uk hiphop is more aware and 'political' than any other musical medium in our times.
@AK471983 Nahh... This is only different to mainstream rap. Rap is traditionally political and many independent artists still carry out those traditions.
I love the NHS, my mother SRN H, was a staunch supporter. She came to england from cyprus, on a scholarship, and encountered rascism, but stuck it out, and loved our NHS, possibly the best in the whole world. I also love the Royal Mail. Don't fix what ain't broke...
Why is a guy this intelligent working as a binman? I don't usually like rap but this is genius. Get him a deal now! He's 10 times the rapper 50 Cent is!
Stop the right/left arguments! Labour left an unaffordable deficit, cuts are necessary - but anyone can see that the Tories are strangling the UK. I wonder how Ann Milton, Tory MP for Guildford, nurse of 25 years, passionate NHS supporter and Public Health Minister, for whom I canvassed (she's a much better MP than her LD predecessor) feels.
@EccentricRichard nobody in labour are proposing having no spending reductions thats a myth the tories are only using the debt excuse to privatize, cut welfare and give the rich as much power and wealth as they can. also the next thing they will have on the agenda is a tax cut on the rich to "stimulate" the economy.
Both my parents work in the nhs and I've done work experience there. Giving gps controll of the budget is a shit idea, they spend half their days doing irrelant paperwork so the witless lawyers who run this world dont sue them for the inevitable poor health of people who come to hospitals in a poor condition anyway. Gp's could knock down huge waiting lists of people and nhs service will remain much better without adding more paperwork on gps on top of their current burden.
GP's having control over the budget is a good thing you idiot. They (the proffessionals) surely should be the ones who direct funding into what they know needs most attention. That my friend is not privatisation... and in 4years time when the NHS is still alive and well, people will be commenting on this video saying what total bull shit it is. :P Anyone wanna comment? Come back in 4 years and we will see who's laughing.

@Pringles352 In theory yeah you're right, in reality what happens is that GPs will be spending more time trying to decide where to put the money and less time with their patients. GPs are doctors, not accountants. Under this system, all it does is provide GPs with another job to do, one they were never trained to do, one for which if they mess up, the government can shirk all responsibility. Handling the money is not a GPs job, caring and looking after patients is, and thats the way it be.
No, you are right the NHS is not up for sale. No one ever said it was, there are no plans to privatise it, and to be honest, i think you are one of the many people who hear a headline and go by that... I love seeing people shout about how much they have privatisation when they don't know why they hate it hahaha! And regarding the top comment, it's probably because Tories know what the government is doing and why, and they don't have the time to watch shit like this. I'm here by mistake LOL
@frobitzin Can't kill what was already dead you muppet. Labour already achieved it. Sorry if you think massive public spending is good for a country... (protip, it's paid for with borrowed money. Means it'll eventually die regardless)
Yea, paying for services with a deficit - real smart. Typical lefties and lack of fiscal maturity.
Don't pay the tax, you shouldn't receive the services past that - telecoms, gas and rail were all going to shit due to lack of cash. People have a nostalgic view of what these services were like "back in the day" wheras the same news articles tend to pop up now and then.
Sorry but people working hard to earn money shouldn't be subsidising other people, the beautiful weakness of socialism at work.
@MegaAntimason Funny enough I could, with a name like yours I wonder what your opinions are! Family has worked in the NHS since it's inception, fact of the matter is the NHS is shit at controlling it's budget and spends far more than it should for the service we actually receive. We still have shit cancer detection and treatment for example. Hell even majorca get's things done faster. Grow the fuck up kid. Yank gov still spend more social money on health per person than we do too.
There is a pressure group called 38Degrees who are arranging various petitions and other ways of pressuring MP's (of all parties) and also Ministers over the plans to privatise the NHS.
Please, if this video makes you angry or upsets you, check them out: 38degrees org uk.
Remember, once the NHS is privatised (gone), we will never get it back. It is down to each one of us, to try, no matter how small - we have to let all of MP's and Lords know how deeply we all care about the NHS

@2LisbonTreaty Trade Unions are against Tory plans?? Whatever next?
TmplKnght 2 weeks ago

@PJPK1111 - Perhaps that's because the state keeps people poor. It's not as if healthcare or insurance can be "free." - I am not arguing that the state has any right to sell the services - but we should raise the question of who has the right to control [any] services.

Should probably listen to some real rap then like Akala/Lowkey/Globalfaction, Cyrus Malachi, Taskforce, Immortal Technique etc. Hiphop, especially uk hiphop is more aware and 'political' than any other musical medium in our times.
shacklock01 1 month ago

EccentricRichard 2 months ago

NHS hospitals in England will be free to use almost half their hospital beds and theatre time for private patients under government plans.

Pringles352 2 months ago
@Pringles352 In theory yeah you're right, in reality what happens is that GPs will be spending more time trying to decide where to put the money and less time with their patients. GPs are doctors, not accountants. Under this system, all it does is provide GPs with another job to do, one they were never trained to do, one for which if they mess up, the government can shirk all responsibility. Handling the money is not a GPs job, caring and looking after patients is, and thats the way it be.
JonnyBoy99890 2 months ago

CalamitasUK 2 months ago
Yea, paying for services with a deficit - real smart. Typical lefties and lack of fiscal maturity.
Don't pay the tax, you shouldn't receive the services past that - telecoms, gas and rail were all going to shit due to lack of cash. People have a nostalgic view of what these services were like "back in the day" wheras the same news articles tend to pop up now and then.
Sorry but people working hard to earn money shouldn't be subsidising other people, the beautiful weakness of socialism at work.

MegaAntimason 2 months ago 2
@MegaAntimason Funny enough I could, with a name like yours I wonder what your opinions are! Family has worked in the NHS since it's inception, fact of the matter is the NHS is shit at controlling it's budget and spends far more than it should for the service we actually receive. We still have shit cancer detection and treatment for example. Hell even majorca get's things done faster. Grow the fuck up kid. Yank gov still spend more social money on health per person than we do too.
CalamitasUK 2 months ago
@CalamitasUK thats because the american healthcare system is entirely run for profit which only drives up costs
