ahh... I love rock, any rock, and all rock. I find it rather amusing how deep people tend to dig into the different genres within the genre, though. I can name about 10 different ones off the top of my head, but what difference does it make? :) Just enjoy it.
P.S. Nightwish's new singer can't possibly make up for Tarja :(
@EarthFireWaterAirSou lol not really :-) goth metal is usually arranged with many choirs and symphonic parts... here we have non trivial melodies and a mix of many different genres (metal and folk, just to name two of them)... so this is definitely prog metal :D it's becoming a common misconception that when a metal band has a female singer, then automatically becomes gothic metal xD
@TheOriginalTGM1 i'd say quite the opposite :-) they do have symphonic arrangements in many of their songs but most of them are quite simple and thin. Usually symphonic metal has huge bombastic orchestra arrangement, which is not much present here! Not to mention that the founder of this group is the progressive mastermind Anthony Arjen Lucassen. So yes, we have symphonic and goth influences, but mostly progressive metal... give a peek at their wiki page as well (ok wiki isn't the bible, but...)
This band is love <3 Just bad, that this song always want to make me cry (over it's beauty, sadness and lyrics ~~ I connect too many things with it)
