lol. your outfits are bad. how bout you take a hint from the people of the future and try to dress a little better when doing a film review. its a stylish science fiction. obviously discovered how to stop the aging process some years before. and moved on from there. thats not so hard to understand. that could happen! in the not too distant future. sorry they didnt give you flying cars so they ran instead! the economy is bad. they couldnt afford it. and now im done giving you my time. ; )
Just saw this movie couple days ago and I'm with Kristian on it. I thought it had a great premise but it was executed poorly. The acting I guess is half and half. Sometimes it would be decent then just go bad. But I think the script is what got me to hate. Some things I was like "That would never happen in real life!" its an ok movie but I'm glad i didn't see it in the theater.
I watched this movie with a friend who takes movies seriously, and I am a sarcastic movie viewer. He usually tells me to shut up, but he didn't even mind me talking through the entire movie, and neither did the guy sitting next to me (who joined in on the trashing. I'll give this a 1 schmo, just because I didn't pay.
I totally agree. Great concept. Didn't do the best with it. Terrible script. Terrible acting. And may I point out the running in 6 inch high heels and how they survived a roll-over in a convertible.
Biggest problem with it was the acting and the dialogue in my opinion. Justin Timberlake and Amanda Seyfried were really a pretty uninspiring pair and didn't come close to pulling off the whole "Bonnie and Clyde" thing that was being attempted. Half of that wasn't their fault as they were given some really awful lines, but still.
@schmoesknow Well a lot of them haha. I tend to agree with you guys but just some movies I'll be like "wow that was low". I love your videos though so keep up the good work :]
a lot of the stuff u don't like about it, is their reality in the movie so no durrr theres gonna be a lot of running and all that stuff. and we're gonna be having normal cars for a long time. our houses will not be floating or some stupid thing like that. i'm so surprised jeremy gave a nicer review

please please please please please, STOP calling him "see-llian" i dont think he himself gets annoyed as much as i do, it just sounds very silly, it's "killian".
I liked the movie, thought it could be wayyy better. I ended up dreaming about it the night after I watched it, and my dream was exponentially better than the movie.
you guys are dean on- great concept - terrible acting and story is pretty much stolen scenes from "the chase" and "robin hood" - great trailer though - definitely fell for it!
@MWBallerHK Can I ask what this comment accomplishes? If you like the movie, great, we respect your opinion. I am just going to make an assumption here. There is a movie that I like out there, that you don't. I am not about to curse at you and tell you you are a shithead. We encourage difference of opinion, just wish you woud have expressed it more intelligently.
Kristian has some cool T's... I LOVE the Hunger Games animosity from Ellis, dude, the books are GOOD, read'em! Don't feel bad though, Journey is cool too.
@JORDMAN1001 Interesting. Hadn't heard that fact. But now that you mention it, it does explain a lot about the film and the director's vision. Thank you for stating it in such a clear intelligent way!
@MrRawrmonster12 Yeah, if you listen to what I say in the comment, I am aware it is a sci fi and the point of the "realistic" comment was the execution of the idea. Obviously Star Trek isn't realistic but I believed it because it was executed in a way that made it seem it was all real. I can understand you liking the film, is the name calling necessary?
@schmoesknow Just went and saw this yesterday, and you guys were spot on about this movie being a let down. It had so much potential, and where the movie started to lose it was just after the time police showed up to arrest JT.
The movie had tons of potential, and it was all wasted. All of a suddent, they can walk anywhere on the right side of town without being spotted and just flash their pieces everywhere.
I do think the story had a deeper meaning on our current economic stand point.
This review is 100% correct. Spot on about the acting and writing. JT went back to his pre-Social Network days and Amanda was dull. This movie at times looked like a music video or cologne commercial. I did like Matt Bomer and happy he didn't have to suffer long in this. Also, Yaya DaCosta was good.
Also, wouldn't a cell phone had helped when Will's mom didn't have enough time to get home? No cell phone, but pay phones are back in the future?
@schmoesknow just came back from the theater and i have to say I usually agree with your ratings but I completely disagree with this one, especially Mark's. Critics, who I usually sort of agree with, also trashed this movie and I really dont know why. Yes it was a little all over the place but it was still really fun, entertaining, and suspenseful with decent acting. On a side note your review funny as usual haha
i went and saw puss in boots and i thought it was great this looked like a big mess so skipped it and i thought puss in boots would be a bit too childish but it was actually pretty entertaining
I just saw it. I liked it. The only thing I had a problem with was the acting. The "you can run, so can you" scene made me lol. Aha but other than the acting, I had a fun time with it.
You confused me for a second there. Then I IMDB'd it. Yeah... he wrote The Truman Show. I thought you were referencing him directing it. I'll see this movie tomorrow... perhaps a double feature with Johnny English.
kristian you should review the hungergames books! i would love to see that and im sure it would get people who dont really know about it into the movies too!
@schmoesknow Thanks! Just saw the movie. Agree with the ideology but feel that the overall film is largely a disappointment. 1.9/5 Schmoes for me, too.
I look forward to this movie. But I have a question.
Do you guys never get into trouble by using clips in all your movie reviews? It surprises me because I have seen channels getting suspended because of it.
ive seen some shows on discovery about how they made mice live 3 times longer by changing their DNA and stuff- so this future in the movie could happen - we might one day want to f*ck out mother-in-laws and their mothers too and so on;)
I love the fact Kristian likes the Hunger Games. Such great books and hopefully good movies. PS have seen the new character poster I think I died. Wody as Haymitch could kiss the casting director.
ever since i saw JT in Alpha Dog, ive never really had a problem with him in films, i actually thought he was great in the social network, i hope he gets more dramatic roles in the future
So... They had to make sure that their cast and even the extras were around 25... Or make them look 25... Is it possible that ''In time'' will be nominated for the Academy Award for best make up? Cause if it's gonna be among the nominees i better check it out :]
I really want to see "The Rum Diary"instead of this. This is something that I would watch when it comes on HBO and Showtime, or buy it when it is cheap on Blu-Ray. I was interested when i first saw the trailer but now that it is out it seems like it is very underwhelming when trailer made it look good.
I was just reading about Logan's run and it definitely had the same outlook! I think Logan's run though was definitely more realistic...almost reminded me of Minority Report.
No most likely not. I was so excited for this movie :( and it was by the same director of my two favorite movies Truman Show and Gattaca. That is sad. Why? Did they need more time to construct this film? Ugh. This makes me so angry. And I love Cillian! He needs to be in more awesome films. Oh! Hey did you guys hear about Speilberg blaming Lucas for Indy Jones 4 fail. I laughed so hard. Anyway, sad that Movie was a bust.
That's pretty funny b/c people usually review the actual game and not the trailer. That's understandable b/c they're so many sites that do video game reviews and not enough video game trailer reviews which is why your a win in my book.
@wannabeaballer41 Yeah we figure, people get excited for movie trailers and they definitely get excited for game trailers, why not talk about it. We have had some haters on the idea but hey we will keep trucking along. Thanks for checking it out!
I have close to no interest in this movie. In general, I don't like Timberlake, and I also didn't like the trailer. I'll see Puss in Boots instead. Probably more entertaining
I have no interest in this movie just because Timberlake is the lead! Also, yeah I ca't think of an excuss why people will just some day not age past 25! but yet need to buy time to stay alive!? It's just confusing! and I haven't even seen the film!
Since Matt Bomer plays a 105-year-old dude, I'm guessing this isn't the "not-too-distant-future" but rather a future spawned by an alternate present. The technology of this world is not overly advanced, is it? Let's say the time-living scenario started in the 1940s...if Bomer hit age 25 in 1950, that would make the movie's present the year 2030. They didn't get into that at all, did they?
wow really schmoes> damn i guess it had to come for a movie that looked good to not live up since pretty much everybody movie lived up to the hype this year. good review schmoes
Thanks for the review! I was looking forward to In Time, but now I have lower expectations and I might be less disappointed when I see it. Also, May the odds be ever in your favor.
Bad acting and bad dialogue. I can't get past that no matter how interesting the premise is. The film looks like Gattaca lite. Niccol did this for the paycheck. I are disappoint.
I've been waiting for this since I first heard about it,. Seeing as I grew up with Logan's Run on Beta and this is probably the closest we're going to get to a even halfway to half decent LR (cos for all the remake talk, it's kind of an un-remakable movie ... too much of its time imho) *shrugs* I'm going to see In Time.
i'd say the story happens in a parallel universe~ since the reason why the currency is the way it is is never explained like it was always like that...
MARK !!! LOVE THE JOURNEY T-SHRIT, why the hell are you all sweaty are you on the drugs? you look like you just finished wacking it back in your tool shed!
Schmoes, I loved the vid, but I don't really get what you mean by "it wasn't executed well". Was it rushed? Was there not enough exposition? Was it not that interesting? PLEASE EXPLAIN SCHMOES! PLEASE!
Headin to see The Rum Diary this weakend but I'll will check this out when it hits blu ray cause I'm a big fan of Lord of War and this is Niccol's first film since then.
I wanna see it because of the cool setting, but listening to your review, Chris, and Jeremy's...their is no hot scene with Amanda Seyfried...damn lol eh I still wanna check it out xD
chris and jeremy both liked the movie, you guys didnt so much, first time i've really seen a major difference in opinion with you guys, quite interesting. I'm still looking forward to seeing it, gotta wait though (from the UK grr)

Hey did you guys hear about Speilberg blaming Lucas for Indy Jones 4 fail. I laughed so hard. Anyway, sad that Movie was a bust.

That's pretty funny b/c people usually review the actual game and not the trailer. That's understandable b/c they're so many sites that do video game reviews and not enough video game trailer reviews which is why your a win in my book.
wannabeaballer41 4 months ago
@wannabeaballer41 Yeah we figure, people get excited for movie trailers and they definitely get excited for game trailers, why not talk about it. We have had some haters on the idea but hey we will keep trucking along. Thanks for checking it out!

I have close to no interest in this movie. In general, I don't like Timberlake, and I also didn't like the trailer. I'll see Puss in Boots instead. Probably more entertaining

have you got a link to any of these videos?

I have no interest in this movie just because Timberlake is the lead! Also, yeah I ca't think of an excuss why people will just some day not age past 25! but yet need to buy time to stay alive!? It's just confusing! and I haven't even seen the film!

I'm seeing this, but now my expectations have sunk.

Thanks for the review! I was looking forward to In Time, but now I have lower expectations and I might be less disappointed when I see it. Also, May the odds be ever in your favor.
KT1419 4 months ago
Bad acting and bad dialogue. I can't get past that no matter how interesting the premise is. The film looks like Gattaca lite. Niccol did this for the paycheck. I are disappoint.

I love how Kristian brings up The Hunger Games at the slightest occasion :)
As for this movie, it seems like the idea is good but underdeveloped. And Amanda Seifrid's wig looks ridiculous.

I'll probably see it still, but my hope for it has sunk. I thought the premise was awesome. From what you say the execution was horrible.
FojiYaiba 4 months ago
Meh, I'll probably see it.

Aww dang, thought this movie was gonna be pretty cool, but I guess not. Probably won't see it now. Thanks for the review schmoes.

i'd say the story happens in a parallel universe~ since the reason why the currency is the way it is is never explained like it was always like that...

Schmoes, I loved the vid, but I don't really get what you mean by "it wasn't executed well". Was it rushed? Was there not enough exposition? Was it not that interesting? PLEASE EXPLAIN SCHMOES! PLEASE!
