  • 2,3

  • a good song

  • The keyboard player in this video doesn't look at all like Brian Cox. If you want to see some awesome videos of Brian the pop star complete with hilarious haircuts, check out "Professor Brian Cox - on keyboards with D:Ream on Top of the Pops" (asseenontv) and "Vinny Burns" (cabowabo).

  • This video needs more particle physicists.

  • Were those Vivienne Westwood winged rocking horse shoes? <3

  • I dont think he is on this video.

  • so is it Brian Cox playing the "bong bong plonk" near the end (from 2:31) like a Securicor vehicle reversing in a lavatory? is that an advance from the BBC ar 1:30? Is the singer REALLY Harry Hill?

Looking at these comments it's as though Sir Patrick Moore played xylophone for Bros and the comments concentrate not on the Goss Bros and their Suzuki vans but on the xylophone player!

  • Damn too much focus on the main singer, couldn't see Brian Cox at all!

  • I can't see Brian Cox to be honest...

  • The keyboard player is not Brian Cox

  • @almack1874

"Another member, the physicist Brian Cox played keyboards for several years in D:Ream, while studying for his physics PhD degree."

    You fail.

  • @craigcrawford1988 Do I? It's me on there

    You fail

    Don't believe everything you read

  • legend, this needs more views

  • what a perfect example of 90's music, so afwul its brilliant :D

  • i have a veague memory that fatboy-slim did a remake of this song yet i cant find it anywhere. link pls someone?

  • I always have respect for people who manage do and achieve many things in life.

Brian Cox is a genuis who is making science accessible to the masses - that's the reason why I came here to see him in this video.

  • He also got a D in A level Maths but still got into Manchester university. Just shows how much easier we have exams these days.

  • i only found that one out in his latest book Wonders Of The Universe

  • My curiosity brought me here so I could see a younger Brian Cox. This song is a steaming pile.

  • better for our Tony!!! oh dear

  • You didn't like the band much, butt i did lol !!

  • I can believe Brian Cox was in this band...the quality and depth of his science shows readily compares with that of D:REAM's output...

  • me and lorraines song. i miss u so much baby

  • BRIAN COX?! FUCK!

  • is this the original??

  • Is Brian Cox actually on the piano in this video? I can't make out if it is him.

  • @samuelshoesmith

yea its definetly him, he said it himself.

you can also kinda tell by the way he moves haha, more like a physicist than a rock star.

    he's still a legend tho :D

  • It's so true things can only get better! I had a shithouse year last year and hopefully 2011 will be better, just have to be positive!

  • omg this song was realsed when i was 6 months old<3

  • 97 elections actually get your facts right boyo lmao

  • BRIAN COX! HELL YEAH!

  • we are sheep

  • My God..I'm tripping watching this vid...great song..lots of memories...

  • Please Wake Up... LABOUR, CONSERVATIVE, LIB-DEM, LIB-CON are ALL the same...

ALL controlled by the PRIVATE Unaccountavble, Non Transparent Oligarchs that control "our" PRIVATE Central Bank in the US, UK & the EU

Remember that the Labour Party gave us 3,000 New Laws.

It restricted our Security of Tenure, introduced Rent Re-Structuring - making it easier to evict what had been Secure Tenants.

"Access to Justice Act" meant in reality a Denial of Access to Justice!

    Now Conservative continue...

  • wonders of the Labour Party

  • I love watching this guy dance. Wish there were a version of just him dancing--not that I don't like the video, too. I watch this all the time just to see Brian dance, Thank you for the video, lalala. Mike

  • I'm not denying this is a very awesome song, but it's going to be stuck in my head now for a loooooong time. Not that I'm complaining...

  • The 97' election... idiot.

  • The Tories are taking away everything Labour gave us. Stop evil Tory cuts...tax the rich and the bankers!

  • Sure they will get worse before they get better!!

  • Is it me or does Brian Cox look younger than his years?

    I keep thinking he's 30-35 or something, not 42.

Epic that he was in this band as well though :D

  • Labour is dead, long live the coalition!

    P.S. Brian Cox FTW!

  • Lets hope they bring this song back in 2015 for labour to return we need an solid party to run our country only labour can do this if you value our country this is the party that needs to be in power. Conservatives and lIb dems have lost trust since the collition. we need tony blair back as primeminster he had to balls to do things that other primeminsters would not. Value Our Country, Support Labour.

  • Forever tainted in May 1997... but I still have a copy somewhere to play WHEN NEW LABOUR FINALLY ADMIT ELECTION DEFEAT AND GO AWAY!

  • labour smashing the conservatives! those were the days...

  • Brain Cox FTW

  • no your wrong in the 21st century things get worse

  • @thedustpile Could you explain some of the indicators of this new lax morality you believe was caused by Labour policies? Just so we know what you're talking about?

  • I remember this being played when the Labour party won the election. It was a great feeling to get rid of those lying smarmy low life Conservatives.

  • Without New Labour, things can only get better!

  • Yeah! Brian Cox! His latest BBC offering is truly outstanding. He is the Carl Sagan for the younger generation - not that Carl Sagan will ever be forgotten. He is the hero of Brian Cox too. As for Prof Cox, I had the honour and pleasure of attending his Voltaire lecture in London last week. His enthusiasm for his subject is contagious. He also said, in great humility that he got crap grades at his A level Maths due to his being in the band! Didn't he do well!

  • I love Brian Cox... but there is no excuse for this.. haha.

  • this is really a song from the band brian cox was in hillarious! glad he turned to physics thats for sure.

    hes not in this

  • Thanks, saved me 3 mins of torment.

  • It might be later than 93/94 cos that looks like T.J. on vocals. The aspect ratio is wrong here so she looks "wider" than she really is.

  • Sorry to disappoint all you Cox fans, but that is not Brian on keyboard in this vid. Come on!! Look hard. In the 1990s till quite recently, Brian had shoulder length hair. I have the vid from TOTP '97 during the election campaign where he is on keyboard, I'll see if I can dig it out. This one is prob the standard vid from 93/94. Trust me, I know, for reasons you need not worry about. I'm sure Brian would back me up here because he is not a naughty boy, he is a messiah.

  • Love Brian Cox hes ledgend!

  • Ha! I love you, Brian Cox.

  • The Prof. Brian Cox is 42! He looks waaaay younger.

  • I love Prof. Brian Cox... googled him and found out hes 42! Looks waaaaay younger than that. I love that he smiles when he talks... he was lush on JR on friday.

  • Brian Cox is totally cool!.. respect to him

  • This song makes me want to choke on candy floss while drowning in coca cola.

  • I still can't quite believe that the keyboard player is none other than the science guy Brian Cox.

  • I know - just watching Brian now on BBC programme about earth and space

  • wonders of the solar system?

it's an awesome programme and he's incredibly knowledgeable

  • mmmmmmmmmmmmmm makes you wonder. perhaps he was jobbing

  • @aarghapanda OMG!!! LMAO!!! really??? lol thats too funny.

  • @aarghapanda The guy teaches at manchester uni, I could call in and say hi if I liked :)

  • @aarghapanda yea its quite mental.

  • @aarghapanda wait what? is this true? i love brian cox.. and love this song so this is a surprise to me lol

  • were we all conned?

  • haha this is soo random :L .. like everyone here is from facebook :) .. 9th of feb :D .. ermm happy belated birthday everyone xD :L :) (Y)

  • I really loved this song song back in the 90's and liked the group too. In the last couple of years though I have felt a bit disgruntled since the song has been associated with the labour party. It doesnt seem as cool as it used to be because of that. I also had another favourite years ago too which was Dr.Albans 'Its my life' and then they put that to a sanitary towel advert! I dont think I'll bother with music anymore!

  • A one hit wonder but what a hit! It is redolent of the early 90s. The only thing against it is the use by the Labour Party for the 92 election!

  • @SPR1NTMAN It was used by Labour for the 97 Election actually. The question is did things get better? Will things get better under The Tories in 2010?? ....

  • Vicious circle, Sir.

  • @SPR1NTMAN it was used by Labour for the 97 Election.

  • @SPR1NTMAN it was actually the 97 election

  • @SPR1NTMAN

  • this song was number 1 in the UK the day I was born!

i was hoping for a better one -_-

  • labour is much better than the slimeball tories out to line their pockets...if they get elected you'll find out the hard way

  • welcome to planet earth - aliens know nothing

  • don't you think labour has been lining their pockets?

  • The keyboardist of this band worked on the atom smasher device.

  • yeah hes a famous physicist now haha.

  • what ye need 2 remember in life is, no matter how bad things are they can get much worse and probly will. thers no point kidding on things will get better coz they wont. good luck anyhow low life scum of the earth arseholes. goodnite and god bless. x ps nice toes

  • this is the comment sections for a song and you're all talking politics? What?

  • Tony Blair used it before making one of his more famous speeches just after he came into power after beating the conservatives.

I think he used it because the conservatives had made a few mistakes e.g. poll tax, and he was basically saying we will fix these problems.

As you can see... Labour have caused more problems in the past few years than they have solved them

  • If this is your true opinion then you should be locked up for your own safety

  • Locked up for my own safety.... I don't see what's wrong with my opinion seeing as it's true , Gordon Brown hasn't done well since coming into power - Assuming you mean the last bit about causing more problems thant solving them (I should have probably said months/year

  • Ahh memories of 97 an THAT labour victory lets hope for the same in 2010

    Vote Left Vote Labour

  • Comment removed

  • @loveyourlabourparty

    Are you still smoking crack?

  • I box to this :)

  • I know everyone goes on about Labour using it and all that.

Sky used it first to advertise the Premiership.

I still remember it like it was yesterday... Alan Shearer holding up the Premiership Trophy in his Blackburn colours.

  • one of the few songs were u can play it over again and u never get sick of it!

  • labour havnt fucked the economy (this lending policy was the banks choice which is allowed in todays boom/bust capitalist system), if the conservatives had won 2005 they would be in this exact situation except they wouldn't have done all the bail outs (which are arguably a good thing with the world following suit)

  • nah the tories would have seen it coming, they have always been better with money than labour!

  • Bailouts? Same as benefits, its just for banks instead. A massive waste of money.

  • I love this song! It reminds me of the optimism we all had after we voted for Labour!

  • SHERWOOD hallllo lol, the memories in the dingy Viewpark disco

  • The song is the ultimate irony. After 12 years of Labour screwing the UK to death, and having the nation dragged back to the dark ages, things can only get better.

  • This popped into the mind again during labour party conference week and I thought oh, wouldn't it be 'post modernist ironist' if the Conservatives used this as the 2010 election theme...

  • LoL, would hit a note. How things have turned out!

Was obvious years ago. Bit funny really unless you have or about to lose your job.
