The runner was within the baseline, but foul territory...foul ball. In between the infield the umpire decides where the "baseline" is, which is a "judgement call" and cannot be challenged by the coach ( Do you notice that there is no visual appeal from the coaches?). Unfortunate, but the runner would have been out if the ball landed fair and was fielded.

She wasn't out was she? Someone on that video said, ''Shouldn't she be out?'' so No she shouldnt, because the batter, has that WHOLE baseline to run straight through, and if the feilder is there in the baseline, the batter does NOT have to STOP running.

That was a scary collision ..... it would never have happend in a baseball game because the field is alot bigger and the 1st baseman would never have to run in that hard for a popup with the batter still coming out of the box. These are big, strong fast athletic girls - running into one of them would be painful for anyone, even a big guy especially if he doesn't realize how tough these girls are.

Hey was the runner called OUT cuz she should've! The runner needs to stay in the base path, which is the line. There's a reason why there's a line! RUN ON IT!!!I've seen runners go into the infield, but why go to the outside? Worst baserunner ever!
