  • m'ha agradat molt. BCN. CAT

  • @65dirt Royce is still involved with the chorus as one of the main coaches. Justin Miller took over as musical director in 2008 - he was a singer in the group prior to that.

Regarding Max Q, they were never a part of Westminster. Two of their singers are members of the great Vocal Majority chorus in Dallas, TX and the other two live in other states - Florida and Ohio.

  • the Bass Echo at 1:33 makes my buttocks rumble!!!

  • Holy crap, the overtone at 5:00 is the bomb.com

  • Was MaxQ members pat of the Westminster chorus in the past? Is the MaxQ group still together?

  • WOW!!! What an ending after a fabulous begining and middle. For the low notes at the end means you need real basses and no wannabes. What note was that? I have watched Westminster through the years and there has been a change in directors. What became of Royce Ferguson? I think your new director is great as well again where did he come from?

  • @65dirt

    It's a Db..

    absolutely filthy =P

  • who is the conductor

  • @demond6602 Justin Miller

  • @demond6602 right now i am going to school to be a choral director. and let me tell you he is a great conductor. great choral ensemble to gave me chills down my neck..

  • the harmony in this choral ensemble is amazing

  • I would love it if they did that huge stomp presentation thing at the end!!!

  • @DJDaveTee Of a ballad???

  • from 0.36-1.06!! AMAZING!!!

  • Watching this set makes me (a Sweet Adeline chorus member) desperately want to attend next year's BHS International competition!

  • AMAZING!!!!!

  • wwooooooaaahhhhh

  • I just cannot get enough of this. Bravo Justin Miller, well deserved, Westminster, and thank you for sharing such a treasure.

  • My favorite part is between 0:00-5:54

  • just unbelievable.... the finest vocal harmony i have ever heard....

  • I'm trying to think if I've ever heard a more perfect chord than the one at the end...answer: never.

  • the passion these men show is incredible. at that moment, nothing else matters. THAT is why i sing

  • I don't understand how that last post is even possible... ever... is there stagger breathing?

  • What I'd give to hear that in person

  • @williamblakeism Our rehearsals are open to the public so if you ever find yourself in Anaheim on a Tuesday night feel free to stop by. You can find more info on our website!

  • @MrRakitaVoCal

Unfortunately I'm across the pond in England!

  • @williamblakeism It's ok, I'm sure we'll be having rehearsals for quite some time so if ever you find yourself in the states we'd love for you to stop by!

  • It's so cool to be hearing and seeing this so good!! Because it was very hard to hear and see it in Philly, i just knew it was this good!! Love you guys!!! /Forever a fan!

  • yeehaw

  • i dont think ppl realise there is a 17 second post for tenors at 3:28...

  • @baddiss74 Don't mean to diminish this choir, but it doesn't seem that much of a stretch for a tenor. I can hit that for the same without gasping for air. But I could be completely wrong. Sorry if I am.

  • @m3talh3ad1994 I know it isn't as hard as a full voice post however what I meant to state was not that it was difficult but that it existed. It could be easily overlooked so I just wanted to point it out lol

  • hi i'm just a "riser guy" who sings bass and i can understand why some make

faces - it results in better sound production. You are concentrating so much on producing that perfect sound , not worrying about what your face looks like. The sound is what MATTERS to you at that moment. These guys make such a wonderful sound --I'll forgive them anything.

  • @MrBass1940 Just a question. Is it difficult to make it into Westminster? I know you guys are located in LA, and I'm going to college down there in about a year. Been singing in a choir for about 7 years, and it would be nice to continue this throughout my life, you know?

  • @m3talh3ad1994 Westminster is not an incredibly difficult group to get into. Just don't expect to get in on your first audition. =P The guys in Westminster are, above all, looking for people with the willingness to learn and grow as singers, and who put everything they have into whatever they're singing. Feel free to contact me or someone in Westminster (through their website) and we can try to get you to a rehearsal.

    It's Barbershop Harmony Time!

  • @MrBass1940 I sing with a UK chorus, not Westminster. Anyway, I'm too old. I imagine with 7yrs barbershop chorus singing (which is longer than have been barbershopping) that a young guy like you could give it a good shot.

  • @MrBass1940 but barbershop is also about the face and, for lack of a better word, "acting" you are doing, but i guess sound always is the better of the two anyways. I always thought it looked funny. Thank you for the knowledge. :)

  • @MrBass1940 not only are the faces for sound quality, but stage presence as well. In theater, they teach you to slightly over-exaggerate your facial expressions in order for the audience to clearly see your expressions. Barbershop choirs are different from normal choirs, in that stage presence is VERY important (hence why you always see them moving, and on some songs dancing around and doing tricks).

  • 3:02 to 4:00 is Amazing gave me chills!! This makes me want to join a barbershop chorus wow!!!!

  • @Musicianslive1love I LITERALLY had to stop the video at 4:00 to catch my breath... its just...wow...

  • Got to love the false ending

  • @Singing1stTenor Gets me every time!

  • I hereby coin the term Harmony Abuse.

  • @emorcen there is no such thing! the more the merrier. :)

  • This performance almost makes me believe in God! Perfection...

  • what i never understood some of the way the basses move their mouths... it must make it sound better (obviously) but at like 4:56 the guy on the farthest left has his mouth all to the side.. anyone wanna help me out? or is it just his "preference" i see a lot of basses do it, and I am not a bass.. hence the question :D thanks

  • @us2guam2us Haha, that guy is my brother. He's always sung like that... I give him crap for it all the time.

  • @jcirmsa hehe. nice. thanks for responding

  • @us2guam2us Just a comment, it's not just basses. It can be anybody who sings.

  • This scored a 97.1, that's about as close to perfection as you can get!

  • OMG! NO one will beat this group!

  • perfection :)

  • Wow...

  • Chills Westminster - chills everywhere

  • Does westminster change their directors everytime they win?

    also WHO arranged this!?!?!

  • @applesauc3 Not necessarily. It's just how it's worked out.

And the AWESOME arrangement was done by the very talented David Wright.

  • when I saw Wall-E i thought this would be awesome barbershop, and even arranged a shitty tag of the song. Then some months later I saw this, done correctly. Really awesome :D

  • who ever writes this stuff and arranges it deserves a knighthood!! its incredible 5 mins of mesmeric musicianship!!

  • somebody *cough*cough should post TNL's Robot Medley...

  • Perfect. No other word does it justice.

  • Keep the contest videos coming. We need to get this stuff back on youtube. BHS will continue to take them down. Make new accounts do what you have to do. The videos that used to be up back in 06-07 are the biggest reason why I'm a member of this society. So in exchange for the fact that I didn't have to spend $40 on the dvd I pay $70ish a year. Best, free publicity BHS can get and their too far up their own ass to realize it.

  • That smile made me trust my heart.

  • That gives me shivers up my spine!

  • This has been in my head all week.

  • holy god that tag is redonkulous...

  • that bass note at the end... wowzers. i love it! inspirational.

  • perfection.

  • Is there an undertone at the end? Holy Shishkabob!

  • Wally?

  • @bmcswa Eeeevaaaaaa

  • Just about as PERFECT as it gets!!! whewww

  • I love the sound of this. Everything is so controlled and performed perfectly, and then I remember that this was live and my brain explodes

  • ahhh man they are good... the 'fakeout' ending gets me everytime

  • This was just as amazing live!! The level of artistry is second to NONE on the planet. Best of luck for many more gold medals to come Westminster!!!

  • Amazing! That's why they are one of the best...ever!

  • Thank you soo much! And this isthe only Westminster video ever where they actually zoom in enough to see me!

  • F. ME. Thats some of the best singing this chorus has ever done.

  • w0000000000000t!
