dhjet2000,I think that may be by design. They've managed to capture something that many thought was gone.Shows a lot of integrity, and commitment.Major kudos for this.Looking forward to new material, which is apparently coming later this year.
why does it sound like 1985? Production should be better. I remember hearing Raven in the mid 80's and saved me from the Euro pop shit, this sounds the same as then.
@santimorni They ain't young un's anymore either! They're in their mid 50's now and still banging with a level of energy that many younger bands can't even hope to match.
That's one of the things a lot of younger fans say about the band when they hear them, and it truly is a wonder that they've maintained this level of intensity almost 40 years later! There again they DID say they would "Rock Until You Drop!!
around 1986 with the Life's A Bitch album, but came to maturity on their
1997 album "Everything Louder" and it's evolved into the sound they have now sported on the last 2-3 albums since the 2000 studio album "One For All."
Raven's sound is a great mix of their NWOBHM roots and just a touch of salt for today's times-the rest is pure, uncompromised metal from one of the genre's true survivors.

This particular sound was born

They do it THEIR way and that's what counts.
