If you need a small player and don't need to load a ton of content (e.g. videos) on it, go with an 8gb or 16gb. (The 4gbs are older models and harder to find.)

Ipods break like a bitch, I had to buy 2 new one's in the past year. 3rd gen classic, and 1st gen nanos were less breakable with syncing. . which the cable syncing for me become the issue EVERy 6 MONTHS.
i found a converter online that unprotects the itunes music so i can put it in my zune marketplace very usefull tool and i can put my subscription zune music in itunes!

The 2.1 software had some metatag issues but those have been resolved. It really is pretty cool to use now with 2.5.

I bought an iPod Classic 80GB and the audio quality on those things is not good at all. The 5G ipods actually have better audio quality then the 6G classics. I have had it for a few days now and I did an A/B tests between 6G iPod, and a cheap Sansa C250 I have and the sansa blew the iPod away as far as audio quality. I used to own a 5G ipod and remember the audio quality to be better then the 6G classic is now. As soon as the zune sells in Canada I will go out a buy one.
Coverflow is sweet. I am also going to really miss having my iPod as a mass storage device. I will also miss the clock and stopwatch. Calendar was kidna handy at times. I bought iPod games that cost me around $20 so now I am out $20. I am super glad I didn't buy my songs off iTunes or else I wouldn't be able to play them on a Zune.

I just bought a Zune, You use the cable to charge and download <3 , it can sync to your Xbox 360 really really easy.
You get software now that makes things really really easy, even easier for podcast since you can search for them on the software and it downloads to your zune automatically
can you put the firmware from this on the first one and is the only different the touch pad thing and the design cause i;m poor can't afford the new one.

Is useless because when you transfer songs you will only be able to play it for 3 days or 3 plays, and not to mention that the wifi drain battery life more quickly. Another thing that is useless is the wifi syncyng, damn sooner or later you have to connect the zune with the pc,and again it will drain the battery life.
Connecting to the PC doesn't drain battery life you, it CHARGES IT. And in order to wi-fi sync, you have to be plugged into a source of electricity anyways (but that requirement might soon be taken away), and it is VERY useful, because then you don't have to connect to your PC every time you want to sync.

Really? Most people are giving the software (at least the latest 2.5 software) high marks compared to iTunes.
iTunes store is still better stocked, but Zune software is a treat to use compared to iTunes.

The sync cable charges the player, through the USB port in your computer.
You can also buy a separate wall-charger if you want to charge it that way.

I just bought a Zune, You use the cable to charge and download <3 , it can sync to your Xbox 360 really really easy.
You get software now that makes things really really easy, even easier for podcast since you can search for them on the software and it downloads to your zune automatically

Yes like most newer mp3 players they just use the USB cable to charge the battery to save on packaging materials.

Yes, the older ones (Zune 30GB players) are updated with the new firmware. So the main difference is the lack of touch pad and the body shape.

i love the zune 80 ill definitely be buying one over and ipod, the screen is great the fact that the headphones that come with it are premium, and the ipod is so cold and unpersonalized

Is useless because when you transfer songs you will only be able to play it for 3 days or 3 plays, and not to mention that the wifi drain battery life more quickly. Another thing that is useless is the wifi syncyng, damn sooner or later you have to connect the zune with the pc,and again it will drain the battery life.

The 3 day rule is now exempt. It's 3 plays.
Connecting to the PC doesn't drain battery life you, it CHARGES IT. And in order to wi-fi sync, you have to be plugged into a source of electricity anyways (but that requirement might soon be taken away), and it is VERY useful, because then you don't have to connect to your PC every time you want to sync.
