Normally I would scorn you for committing this horrible atrocity. Had this been an Xbox, you would have received a tongue lashing (text lashing?), but this is a PS3. Do you know why I don't care that you put Linux on a PS3? It's because the PS3... has no games.

@gugutzel I believe this only works when connected via HDMI but I have seen some tutorials on how to attempt to get it to work through AV cable. Never tried it with AV cable myself though but it could work.

yes u can just turn off the ps3 then turn it back on butt hold the pwrbutton until you hear a second beep then release it

recently follwed along with your video on installing YellowDog Linux and it all was very helpful, the only problem was when i typed "install_ps3_720p on the kboot" my tv went blank and nothing happened afterward i dont know what to do. Now i am stuck at that page where you type install_ps3_720p and i cant go on from there. It is the last step so im pissed, and would really appreciate if anyone could help

i burned it , did everything you told me to do , but when i come to '' the boot screen '' it just freezes .. is there any way to reset the ps3 ? i already entered 'ps3-boot-game-os '' but nothing happens .. i just get a message saying '' ps3flash_read_write_sectors_:4­8:READFAILED 0x2050000 input/output error ..

I need help with this, I downloaded the ISO, and Burnaware Free, but everytime I try to burn it, it says Burn failed. What am I doing wrong? The size of the file is 3.75GBs, and the amount of space my DVD+R can hold is 4.7 GBs. Could u help me?

thanks, but I burned it and installed it about a month ago.

Turns out, it was internal damage to my cpu that wasnt allowing it to burn the disc, so i just used a different cpu, LOL

a DVD+RW will run you about $20.

you can put it on a CD but it has to be RW

The DvD can be either +r, +rw, -r, or -rw. I buy packs of 10 -r for about £5 ($8). And no it won't fit on a cd. A cd has 700mb, and a DVD has 4.7gb, the yellow dog iso file is 3.76gb.
