you can't join as aircrew if you don't have superb vision. If it deteriorates after you've got your wings, they'd rather keep you than lose the £millions they invested in your training.
In the army air corps if your vision can be corrected to 20/20 with glasses you can be a pilot, the raf won't let you but if it deteriorates then they will keep you, not totally sure about the FAA
yes for certain pilot jobs you need 20/20 vision, usually these are for fixed wing aircraft , I know for a fact that in the RN they allow people to be a pilot/observer/aircrewmen if your vision is not perfect but it does have to pass a certain test. hope this helps.

Is the Fleet Air Arm flied for Bankruptcy last Fall?
I thought that the entire fleet of air planes have been sold to the Chinese.

Not sure about the navy but in the Army Air Corps you can be a pilot with glasses even if you have them before you start training.

AT 6.20 the pilot is wearing glasses. im really confused cuz i was tol ur not allowed to wear glasses if your a pilot?
