People forget that KOBE was the best guy on the Lakers in BOTH 2001 and 2004 before the Finals, which means he carried them to the big stage....even 2002 is debatable...then in the Finals, Shaq would swoop in and get the MVP

As for the Heat, there's absolutely no question that Wade was the best player on the team. In the 2006 Finals Shaq averaged like 13 ppg & 10 rpg

As for Wade, he was battling injuries, but as I said, look at the regular season stats, playoffs stats, pre-Finals playoffs stats, Finals stats, ANYTHING YOU WANT, D-Wade was better than Shaq in 2006 and was the clear-cut MVP of that team.

In 2001 p/o, Kobe averaged 31.6 points, 7.0 rebounds and 6.2 assists prior to the Finals, and was LA's best player. Shaq averaged 29, 15 & 3.

2002, Kobe 26.6, 5.9 and 4.4......Shaq 26.4, 12.7, 2.6...it's debatable for this year, but doesn't look like Kobe was merely riding Shaq to the Finals.

2003, Kobe 32, 5, 5...Shaq 27, 15, 4...again debatable, with Kobe being just as brilliant as Shaq was.

2004, Kobe 25, 5, 6...Shaq 20, 14, 3...clear cut Kobe led this team to the Finals.

By the way, in case you didn't notice, I was talking about the playoffs PRIOR to the Finals series. Basically, Kobe carried LA to the Finals in 2001 and 2004, where Shaq dominated. But before the Finals series, Kobe was the Lakers best player. Even 2002 pre-Finals is debatable.
