Yes, but I perfer to have a balance of defense and offense, because you can't block with hammers. Plus great swords can block breath attacks and most melee attacks.
Only do the 3-hit combo (golf swing finisher) when you know for sure that it can be executed. I wouldn't advice using it often because the first two hits are incredibly weak. Only the last hit (golf swing) deals 100% of the hammer's damage output. For example, at 2:12, you can execute it underneath Basarios. Oh, and try and be patient when it's wagging it's tail. Other then that, not too shabby
if u look at it basarios is actually quite dumb just because he is the juvenile version of gravios....his reaction is pretty stupid he runs to the place wer u were last 10 seconds ago just to atk u...and he roars quite too long too...

Hell yeah it is. DMaul isn't even the end of the tree, and it owns. I'm playing on a new character, so I don't have the time to get the tails for the Finishing Hammer.

Meh, don't like hammers, perfer great swords myself. Besides, you can't cut off tails with a hammer.

Hammers are stronger than Greatswords, and the only tails worth anything are the Raths.
That's why I prefer Hammers over GSs.

Actually the alst hit makes up for about 70% of the total damage. The first two hits cause around 20% each.
