@MisterMortombachman It's actually fairly fast. The 2003-2005 had a boost in power compared to the 2002 model. I am always surprised how quickly I can get up to 70 mph when getting on the freeway. With the TBird you just have to punch it and it takes off. There is plenty of power in the 3.9 V8.
I still get frequent positive comments about my white 2002 TBird-even in car snobby L.A..I's rather have it than the look alike BMWs or Mercedes which are everywhere here. It is'nt a sports car but it is pretty fast w/it's Lincoln V8.
You are right that it was a tad too expensive to sell well. But wrong on the design flaw of 2 seater vs 4 -seater. You are reviewing the car you WISH they had built, not the car they actually built.
The $35,000-39,000 sticker price also was out of the range of many traditional Ford buyers plus many dealers added a $10,000-15,000 premium when the car was first introduced.
Another issue was the T-bird cost approx. $10,000 more than a Mustang GT convertible and that car seats four and has a more usable trunk and is much faster but they are two completely different types of cars.
Ive got a book that was made in 07 and its bout what cars will be classic and which ones will be crocks in like 2020 and the 05 thunderbird and the 04to06 gto will both be classics and i have no doubt of that
don't you guys think this is ugly? they should've kept on the 4.6 lx and 3.8 sc models and not changed the body cause the old 57's-60's bodies are great but they ruined it here. at least i think so. I own a 94 t bird 4.6 and i love it i can't believe it's a predecessor to that thing
Agreed. My dad had an '89 Super Coupe and a 90' Super Coupe. They were fast but the new one defiantly brings it back down to earth as the cruiser it was introduced as.
Beautiful car, but how did they get so little power out of a v8?

@grubbsandiego1 6.1 seconds to 60 is good, but still a bit slow for a v8. Thats not really the appeal of the car though.

new ford thunderbird is still NOT good design..
ford is a poor job..
my thumb down on this ford system..
1 - NO 2 yellow amber lights on rear taillights for turning sign..
2 - NO good 2 front turning signs on headlights..
3 - NO good gas - in a hole on the right side

Nonsense. You need to learn to differentiate between what you don't like, and what is or is not good. Indeed, your critique does not even make sense.

Yeah, these are great cars. The automated manual 5-speeds are fun to use. The Limited Editions are especially fun to drive.

Review / appreciate the car that is, not the car you WISH they had built. Grow up and learn to differentiate between the two. PS - you are a moron.
