Thank you! Can't get enough. You found a piece I hadn't heard since a kid in the 70's from parents record collection, and never knew where to find later. My favorite always. We also had the (big fat) piano roll! Can't remember who played master copy.
Kogan is the most macho violinist and Kreutzer Sonata the most macho violin work. Thanks! But who's the pianist? And do you know in which year it was recorded?
THANKS, MANY MANY THANKS FOR THIS OPPORTUNITY TO LISTEN THIS GREAT AND AND OTHER PERFOMANCES.........KOGAN ONE OF THEM,LIKE MINSTEIN , MENUHIN, OSTRAKH AND ANOTHER.........GENIUS OF VILOIN.
I have Perlman/Ashkenazy and Oistrakh/Oborin recodings. This is certainly very different and more palatable to my taste. I like that controlled aggressiveness that Kogan shows in all his performances. Beethoven violin sonatas are dominated by the piano. The accompanying artist (Gilels being the suspect) is certainly a par with Kogan. Thanks a million for the upload. A great opportunity to enjoy a great performance.
The Kreutzer is one of my favorite pieces of classic music with the exception of some Bach pieces ... So much passion lies in it touching almost blind rage. Simply great. It's pure Beethoven.
i have listened to alot of recordings of everything from bach to prokfiev and everything I have listened to of Kogans is top notch almost the best of everything ive heard

this violin sonata reminds me a lot of the Pathetique piano sonata. Both works are especially similar in their first movements.

Thank for uploading this version of the beautiful and intense Kreutzer - a great performance, indeed!

под влиянием музыки кажется, что я чувствую то, чего я, собственно, не чувствую,
что я понимаю то, чего не понимаю, что могу то, чего не могу.. (Толстой)

If it is form the set of Leonid Kogan 10 vol. recordings, one can be sure that the pianist is Grigory Ginzburg.
