Hey - question, do the meisterkugeln .22 pellets makes a strange ringing sound when you shoot them from your Trail NP XL 1100? I get a really weird ringing sound from my NP XL 1100 with these pellets? I really havent used wad-cutters at all, do wad-cutters tend to make a ringing sound when fired? It almost sounds like a dime rolling on a glass tabletop..
@zefdin101 Yes, all RWS pellets make this sound when firing them from my Trail MP XL. I think it just has something to do with the type of lead compound that the company's pellets are made out of, because no other brand of pellet does this, only RWS. I don't think it's a problem, as every pellet makes its own sound when exiting the barrel, just make sure to take care of your barrel by lubricating it and cleaning it whenever necessary to avoid any possible complications. happy shooting!
Thanks for sharing these informative pellet tests.
In the UK the muzzle energy of our air rifles must not exceed 12 ftlb by law (regardless of calibre), anything above that is classed as a firearm and strictly controlled so most UK airgunners stick to using rifles that produce about 11 ftlb.
My 16 grain .22" pellets leave the muzzle at about 560 fps and my 8.4 grain .177" pellets are doing about 775 fps. I nearly always use pure lead domes for accuracy, but for close in pests? Wadcutters!
