  • Sooo cute

  • She is cute

  • @ylfriends Jujjj

  • Hahah an ice cream and donuts!!! So cute!! I would have said that too if I was asked the same question at that age! and 1:58 "ithanethu" demo sa was really funny too LOL!! I wonder how you did it without waking her up! And you avoided the question in a very smart way too! Wow she's quite a girl for her age..bilingual and everything..I used to be very pessimistic about daughters but after watching Nina's videos, I am very convinced daughters can be very sweet and loveable too!

  • @ylfriends Thanks for the comment. And, yes, daughters can be great!

  • please!! tell me if the tooth fairy is real and u did put the money under the pillow

  • smart kid tbh it's a good investment: put teeth under pillow, fairy brings in money, buy candy with the money, eat candy, your new tooth is ready to be placed under the pillow from there on just rinse and repeat lol

  • @Thoogah ha ha She could get a racket going.

  • 0:20 shes going to gloo it back on

  • she's soooo smart! How old was she?

  • she is very very smart and inquisitive!

  • one word for nina in indonesian language "cerdas" it means brilliant..

oh, she's very adorable.. i shared this video to my boyfriend and both of us fell in love with nina.

come and visit indonesia someday, geof san..

  • Damn she is smart!! I was so gullible as a kid that after watching the movie Toy Story I thought my toys really did came to life when I wasn't around xD loool

  • Actually, the tooth fairy is me, Nina darling. i converted Rupiahs into Dollars so U can suspect your dad as the fairy. i always wanted to be your fairy Nina.... XOXO

  • it's very cute. I would lie to her 'cause it's so dreamy and fun to imagine! even It won't be last long lol

  • ask nina if she thinks god exists

  • She's one very smart girl! Love it!

  • :D Awwww! So cute and so smart!

  • Nina's guess as to what happens to all of the teeth the tooth fairy collects made me laugh out loud. And I love the way she asked you if maybe your American paper money "ちょこっと少なくなった?" So coy! I didn't hear about the tooth fairy until one of my friends from school told me about it, but by then I was a little too old (though my friend seemed to believe in it).

  • Why is Nina so smart? :)

  • @vuckyoulah She gets it from me. ha ha

  • @geofg you kept on asking her questions, and i guess that made her think alot! :]

  • Brilliant!

  • Ninas so smart.

  • Hahaha. Smart kid! If that had been me, I would've believed my dad right away. XD

  • NEVER STOP MAKING THESE.

  • I hope you will do it better in christmas.

  • when u said.. tooth fairy has mountain of teeth.. it made me scare LOL!!!!

by the way.. Nina, she looks like me and my twin when we were young LOL!

  • What a smart girl. <3 This is too cute! Look on the bright side... at least you know you won't be dealing with extreme disappointment when she finds out the truth.

I mean... what? The tooth fairy exists! Just in case Nina's reading... sending her love from myself and the Tooth Fairy here in America! ;D

  • plus so cute, :)

  • she is so intellegent, hahaha we gotta prepare for a some real tooth fairy. hahahaha...

  • there... there.. little Nina.

    :)

  • 私の妹分のことを思い出す。キュートな笑顔、さえ歯を欠け。

  • OMG i allways love nina's video :D

  • pirro! Shes so cute..

  • hai, may i ask what video editing software u used for your video, tq!!

i really adore your amazing photography skills, and nina is getting so clever and so cute!

  • @purplevioletmiracle Thank you! I use iMovie software (Macintosh) for my video editing.

  • nina has gotten so big! =) i remember i first watched a video of nina when she played guessing games at the dinner table with you all, and that was so long ago. she's so adorable =)

  • awesomeness... she does not believe until she sees.. That's a great knowledge

  • My goodnes, she's smart!! What's going on with kids these days? You cannot lie to them! Even these things, that are magic stories for them to enjoy... No, not even that!! But I love Suspicious Nina!

  • @evavigo Yeah, I want to let her enjoy the magic of the Tooth Fairy etc. for awhile longer, but I also am proud of her inquisitive mind.

  • @geofg you are already giving her a magical childhood, with or without the tooth fairy :-D i think all of us who watch your videos of nina will agree :-D

  • @ulan25 Thanks! I like that. And, I agree there is plenty of magic just in everyday stuff like watching lightning storms, growing an avocado tree from a seed, taking a walk in the local woods and making slime.

  • i was really impressed with her ability to speculate and use reason to draw a logical conclusion. she seems way ahead of her years.

  • @geofg more videos please? I miss watching Nina (although I'm still watching the older clips!)

  • Dear Geofg,

I think what you said was appropriate. You didn't flat out say, "no it wasn't me" you let her think about it and decide for herself. But part of the fun of being a kid is believing in magic, or at least pretending you believe. I'd let her think about it a little longer :) I left you a comment a while back from hanaabbroad, this is my new user new and I have a channel about my daughter and I in Japan too. She is only 8 months old. Love Nina and your videos. Thanks for all the effort.

  • @HannahInJapana Thanks for telling me about your new channel. I watched some of your videos of life with Ellie, and they brought back a lot of memories. Keep it up, and hang in there! It gets easier and easier!

  • @geofg Thanks so much for watching. I bet you miss those times when Nina was a baby, but she looks like a lot of fun now too. Yeah being a housewife in a foreign country and a new mom can be hard but also rewarding.

  • I just got my wisdom tooth pulled out! It hurts! Not only that, I also had to pay the dentist a few hundred bucks!

  • @utiub90 I remember when I had my wisdom teeth pulled. It wasn't fun at all. I hope they gave you some good pain killers.

  • i guess nina believes in the phrase "to see is to believe" haha

  • wow..nina you are awesome..looks like she have a talent to become an detective..i think that you never think about nina will became very suspicious about the american money..hahaha..

  • @MsFesty ha ha Well, we watched a video from a friend in the U.S. showing his son getting two dollars for a tooth, so I thought I... I mean the tooth fairy... should try the same thing.

  • lol she's so smart. You got to hand it to her, she figured out your plan, geofg! ha ha ha ^__^

  • lol Congratulations Nina the tooth fairy came to you and gave you two dollars!!!!

  • @geofg I hear some story from Japan,if in Japan There is no tooth fairy that gives money.

But there is a mouse that gives handbell

Maybe you can tell Nina about it.

  • If I got caught like this, I would just tell her the truth lol. Nina is VERY smart. Most kids wouldn't even ask, let alone analyse what might have happened! My favourite part is when she started asking you if you had American money and whether you had a bit less lol. VERY, VERY impressive! Btw, congratulations on losing your first tooth, little Nina!

  • Internet footage of the tooth fairy: /watch?v=i2rpYYUEExU

  • Ha! She's so smart! Geof you've got to have this channel updated until she enters junior high at least! (If she would let you lol)

Love your daughter, your family, and every of your video. Thanks! P.S. That was an American tooth fairy for sure!

  • you can't beat a clever girl like nina! lol

she must have known that you're the one who put the money below the pillow, but she's just a lil bit unsure. so she's just say okay to make you happy lol

  • I feel like you need to reproduce and have way more children LOL This is the official memo, coming your way.... HAVE MORE CHILDREN lol

  • lol, the tooth fairy gave american money to a kid in Japan!!! that means the tooth fairy is American! hahahahaha!why didn't you gave her Japanese money?

  • @radziahradzi I thought U.S. money would seem more mysterious. ha ha

  • very smart girl! maybe you can let her watch the movie "tooth fairy" of dwayne johnson and see what she thinks about it haha

  • I wonder what's feel like having a very beautiful intelligent daughter, that you always made a movie or her. it'll always be such a precious movie ever :) I love it, really. thanx for sharing with us.

  • Hahahaha... NINA is smart and Geofg, u're not good in lying. lol :)

  • @AtazzzZ You're right. I'm a terrible liar.

  • @AtazzzZ That's because he's too nice.

  • My Christian mother felt it was important to not fool me with things like the tooth fairy or santa. I never felt like I was missing out.

  • hai nina and papa.. :)

can I put some of your picture in my blog?

so I can show to my friend how beautiful nina is.. :)

  • @TheInrainbows Yes, you can. And, thanks for asking.

  • I have to say, Nina is very inquisitive! Do you guys also follow the tradition of leaving out cookies and milk for Santa Clause? Though, that might arouse the suspicion of why Santa Clause is able to stomach that many cookies... I think you should lay it low for now, now that Nina is questioning the tooth fairy. At that point that's when I decided to trick the tooth fairy. Good luck! ^_^

  • @BeNiceToAnime ha ha Yeah, Nina has dropped the subject for now, but I wonder if she will start drilling me again when the next tooth comes out. I better prepare my answers.

  • If I were Nina I will pull my teeth out to get 2 dollars ha ha ha.

I just see her bed that last time I watched she told you that she's younger than

sleep in I don't know in English it seem like baby bed.

Some people in Thailand believe that if you don't toss it on the roof

you will not have a new teeth.

  • @tissnadi Yes, we got Nina a new "big girl's bed" over a year ago. And, in Japan also, they throw the bottom teeth into the air so the bottom teeth will grow in.

  • The tooth fairy has hairy legs! haha

  • @heopie Shhh!

  • I was expecting a coin, but some HUGE dollar bill appear instead. Laugh so hard!!!

  • *frogs

  • tell her its as real as the frigs in your tummy ;D

  • @idaXu ha ha I wonder if Nina remembers the stomach frogs.

  • She's so smart lol

  • In my country, there is no tooth fairy. Instead, we have "la petite souris" (the little mouse), who does pretty much the same job : exchanging the teeth for some money.

  • @StormWolf01 I love the idea of the little mouse. That makes more sense to me than a tooth fairy, somehow.

  • she's so smart. when i was little i was so gullible, but nina is so brilliant :)

  • She's a smart girl! I think you would've gotten away with it if you gave her Japanese money.. Japanese toothfairy perhaps?

Her reasoning and logic for that age is very good too - if I see her then I'll believe that she's real.

  • i really adore her. from her being a baby upto now !!! :)) em watching all ur videos :))

  • when she is old enough to read all these comments and watch all these videos in the future it just makes me smile thinking about it =) ahhhh the wonders of technology.

  • I was wondering the whole time: Why American money? Haha.. Maybe because it's the "American" tooth fairy? But this reminded me of when I was younger and my friends and I were discussing whether things like Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny, and the Tooth Fairy were real... We all decided we should put up hidden security cameras to know for sure.... (of course that never happened though-seeing as we were in 3rd grade and everything)

  • @misschelz1 Yeah, I doubt Nina can get ahold of a security camera, and she is a heavy sleeper at night, so probably I am safe in that regard.

  • Nina is so smart! :) I really love all the videos you made. What kind of camcorder and editing software do you use? I want to learn to make some nicer quality videos for my son too. So far I suck :'( your videos are really sweet!!!

  • @nerdyme69 Thank you! I use the Kodak zi8 camera and iMovie (Macintosh) to edit. Both are very easy to use.

  • Hahaha, she's too clever to fool! I was much easier to trick into believing in the most absurd things, like the giant chimneys of factories being cloud machines or brown cows giving cocoa- and the tooth fairy, too. I was mighty impressed when I found my first money and started to wiggle my second loose tooth for three hours straight until it would come out. My parents had to tell me the fairy would be unhappy if I deliberately lost all my teeth to make me stop. I guess Nina is also less greedy..

  • @MilkySorbet I like the idea of factories being cloud machines! And, Nina has been checking her teeth daily to see if any others are loose as well. I may have to use your explanation that the tooth fairy won't accept teeth that are pulled out deliberately.

  • oh! Nina got a new bed I see..

  • @houry2609 Yeah, she's had that over a year now.

  • Nice to see that Nina still has her appetite! :D When asked what she would buy with the money, she said ice cream and donuts. Haha. She is a curious but clever girl. Does she still believe in Santa by the way?

  • @ellamlc37 I think she is a bit suspicious about Santa as well.

  • @geofg Haha. It won't be long until she finds outs. It's good that she's suspicious, at least it won't come as a shock to her. :D

  • Wow, Nina is very smart! I'm impressed by her logic.

  • Oh well, it's hard to say what one should do.

My dad was never clear on this thing. I defenetely knew it was him, since his terrible rendition of Santa and a story about candies growing from the branches of a large plant we had, and he knew I knew but I think we mutually decided to keep the truth in the fog, so the tooth mouse (here is a rodent who does the job not a fairy), kept coming until my mouth was empty and my bank account big :)

I think you managed Nina's questions pretty well so far!

  • @elena1826 ha ha I can relate to your dad. And, I like the idea of a tooth mouse.

  • Smart girl. Not sure you'll fool her for very long. Good to have a bit of fun and imagination when you're that age though!

  • I think the tooth fairy need to open a branch in japan, hahaha....

  • she's so smart!!

  • However, as to the answer... you needlessly complicated the situation by leaving U.S.D. All fairy tales need to be as simple as possible, in order to make them less easy to debunk.

  • @Yakerina Yeah, I just thought she might wonder why the tooth fairy left Japanese money, when none of her friends get money for their teeth.

  • I like the version from Terry Pratchett. The tooth fairy's castle is made from teeth. The teeth collected to protect humans from being magically controlled. The money left because there must be a fair exchange. You live in a country where they toss the lower teeth beneath the house and the upper teeth onto the roof in order to make the adult teeth come in good and strong. Or have I got that backwards?

  • @Yakerina Interesting. I'll have to look for that.

  • she loves sweet food like me and her answers are so cute, I love you Nina!

  • and man, for her age she is so clever ^^

  • hahaha, I love how Nina's curiosity rose and asked if you were missing 2$, she's a very smart little girl! I thought the tooth fairy was everywhere? What do Japanese parents do when their child looses a tooth? There's no fun without the tooth fairy...!

  • @krispix79 In Japan, they throw bottom teeth up on the roof, so the new tooth will grow in straight.

  • The curiosity in this video is great! I have the same problem as you, being a japanese student i am too young to have ids but i am not sure i will even celebrtate christmas when i have kids, i would rather have a family day then a majical man with beard day however it seems harsh to take away the majic. Great video! Seeing children challenge what they are presented with through logic is wonderfull! ^_^

  • @shutuplistentoArnie I felt that way when I was younger, too, never really cared about Christmas or other holidays that just seemed like retail opportunities, but when I became a father Nina's enthusiasm for play and fantasy infected me, and I realized that I want her to enjoy her play life for as long as she can.

  • lol i liked how she asked if you happen to be just two dollars short :P she's so smart

I remember when I had asked for handwriting from my parents because I was suspicious that my parents happen to have the same handwriting as santa.

  • she's too smart...figuring out Papa has american money...and she got american money...hmm I like the idea of planting the seed of the myth adn magic but letting her figure it out and wonder on her own...Good on Papa!

  • she's so adorable <3

  • now we all know for sure the tooth fairy's american.HAHA

  • im having a face mask on when im watching this, and i couldn't help to laugh at the dollar bill. and the mask crack. hahahaha... I thought you'd put japanese coins.

  • @dodelledod Sorry to crack your face mask! ha ha

  • Thanks for the upload, was missing her already!

  • "all the way to Japan"

    very funny. Haha.

  • with every next teeth you get a dollar less ! Economy crunch darling nina :)

  • @latinopapita ha ha Yes, at two dollars a tooth, we're gonna go broke!

  • She's very inquisitive! I think that's amazing! great job papa!

  • What a brilliant Nina :*

  • The tooth fairy is american!!

  • She is so smart!!!!!

  • Nina is so smart. She looks like she growing up a bit too.

  • haha... "why do you think daddy did it?" because the tooth fairy give her DOLLARS ?!...

  • it's because there isn't a tooth fairy story in japan. she would have been more willing to believe it if other kids from her school believed in it too.

  • @ydoiwatchthese Yeah, I tried explaining that the tooth fairy made a special trip over here for Nina because she's half American, but you're right, I think the idea that a tooth fairy would only visit kids from certain countries doesn't sit well with Nina.

  • @geofg when i learned that other country's had different ideas of santa is when i realized santa wasn't real. because not all countries had a santa, and the ones that did all had different looks or traditions. and that just seemed odd to me. plus nina is really smart. she has great deductive and reasoning skills, so that makes it even harder for her to grasp it. most kids would go with it, but she could tell something was fishy XD

  • So smart she is!

  • Of course I am real!!!!

  • @Pixiemel2 And, you make the time to check comments on YouTube when you're not collecting teeth!

  • @geofg Haha yes yes! I had to check to make sure Nina received my present! easier than having to fly back and hide in a corner!

  • Sorry Geofg, can i ask you?? How you can teach her both language?? Can you show me, my baby will born 2 more months ..... I hope you can answer me , i'm vietnamese & my wife is francais, that's difficult to teach both language :) Show me the way please

  • @AnthonyGuen If you always speak Vietnamese with your baby, and your wife uses French, your baby should be able to understand both languages at least. And, congratulations! I hope you have a healthy baby soon!

  • @geofg Thank you so much, i hope your family will always happy ;)

  • Oh my gosh Nina is so smart. lol I laughed so much when she asked if you had less money. So so clever.

Not like me, I only realized the "truth" of the toothfairy when my tooth was still in it's dixiecup in the bathroom (what we did rather than put it under the pillow) for two days. I looked in the cup the 2nd day when my dad was shaving, he saw my sad face and said "OH, you lost a tooth!? I didn't know that". The next day, rather than the usual dollar for my tooth, was $5 dollars. I knew then.

  • @JJNeepinFilms That's the first I've heard of the put it in a dixie cup method. I would probably forget, too.

  • @geofg Yea. I think it was started with my eldest brother. He didn't want the toothfairy coming in his room so he put the tooth in a cup in the bathroom.

  • I thank you and your family for all these feelings and memorys everytime I watch your videos.

  • @geofg you and I are the same age. My father (a great dad) died when I was 11. The thing I want to say is that I realize the reason why I like this channel so much is of course nina but also you. The way you are with nina is exactly like my dad was with me. My mother a few years back gave me a illustrated journal he kept of us (christmas, sledding, ect) that I guess could be considered the poor mans YouTube. Hell...you even look exactly like him.

  • @bizelivin Wow, thanks! I'm sorry you lost your father at such a young age, but it's nice you have his journal to help keep his memory alive.

  • Come on ...tell Her the truth :)

  • "yaaay two money :DDD" LOL! Aww Nina's first tooth fell :D I hope it wasn't a painful one heh. I remember my dad always enjoyed plucking my teeth off lol! The whole video cracked me up XD, but especially when she said "maybe put it in her mouth" LOL!! God bless her :D I wish her a healthy teeth always~

  • haha. busted!

  • awww so cute!! I propose you do a ask nina questions video!!

  • Congrats to you two (parents)!

You have brought her up in such a way that she now skillfully deducts and reason about these things with a very aware mind and down to earth logic. She is great!

Thank you for sharing this with us all.

    /mtm

  • I believed in the tooth fairy until sometime in mid-elementary school. I was never mad at my parents for telling me that she really existed :) It was a fun memory during a time when my imagination had more power than reality :) I'd tell her exactly the same as you told her :) She's very smart to be suspicious, though!! :D

  • First tooth :')

  • lol @ US dollars

  • can i know how old is she now? btw, she is so cute. is she fluent in both japan and english language?

  • @sayabudakbarubelajar She will be six in August. She is completely fluent in Japanese, and her English is coming along.

  • Growin' up so fast! =^[.]^=

  • What program do you use?

  • i read many interesting comments here... well, if i were you i will lie about the story at the moment. as the time goes by, she will find out by her self from friends and age factor. i never told by my parent about such story. poor me. lol anyway.. she is so critical.

so what do you guys think why the fairy leaves money for teeth?

  • @itsmecitra14 I don't know where the leave money for teeth idea came from. I guess I should check it out on Wikipedia.

  • why US dollars?

  • @MsOhayoOhio Seemed more... exotic maybe?

  • awww so sweet :D

  • As she seems to be onto you, I think it would be best to let it on slowly. I don't think you need to worry about a lack of imagination in Nina!! But actually saying it was Duffy might be best!! Then she knows it's just for fun as it were. But she's an excellent skeptic. :)

  • Comment removed

  • i like the way she have the "only believe if i saw it" same goes for me..we're smart! :D

shes very cute and funny vid!

  • There's no fooling Nina, is there? ;) A nice way of learning the conditional if by the way :)

  • I guess the best thing in my opinion is to keep it ambiguous. Like you could present these things to Nina so she knows the cultural elements of them. If she asks you if they are real, maybe say that either there are a lot of things that people don't fully know or understand yet or "let's find out together". This encourages both positive skepticism and nurtures imagination.

Just my opinion, not trying to be bossy or anything. :)

  • @ladypyramidhead Yeah, I like that idea. Let Nina decide for herself.

  • I see nothing wrong with telling her it was the tooth fairy when it was really you. It's not like she is going to become distraught or conflicted later in life when she finds out the truth.

Its all for fun and its a lil bit exciting when your young. Just like Santa Claus, easter bunny, etc.

  • u can keep the secret for a while then tell her. Dont keep it a secret forever
